The internet endorsed the employee's actions and condemned the manager who posted the topic. The thread was then screen-shotted and shared on other subreddits, where it went viral.

The thread was originally posted to Reddit's r/AITA (Am I the A-hole) subreddit before being cross-posted to r/antiwork. 

Commenters on the original thread were quick to tell the manager, who posted the topic, that they were undoubtedly the "A-Hole" and were entirely in the wrong in a "Damn near-unanimous" vote. Commenters on r/antiwork were harsher still, and their tirade against the manager resulted in both threads being locked.

Insane Job Ad Promises Modern 'Mad Men' Workplace, Requires Woman Who Wants to Be Harassed

This job advertisement went viral after screenshots of the ad were posted online. The ad describes a vacant position with some unusual requirements for applicants. The situation necessitates an applicant who "have watched the TV show madmen and think the way the women are treated in the office is perfect (sic) acceptable." and mentions that the owner can be "erratic and contradictory."

The screenshots were posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit, a community where Redditors gather to share stories and experiences of mistreatment in the workplace. Threads like this are pretty at home on the subreddit and are often transferred to increase visibility and spark discussion surrounding poor or disadvantageous working conditions.

Commenters have been overwhelmingly appalled at the advertisement, and the reactions caused the company that posted it to withdraw the listing. Some commenters remarked that this posting reads like an act of revenge done by an assistant who has grown tired of this owner's behavior. 

"If it's real, it was made by the last assistant on her way out," remarked LazyZealot9428. "Do you like being harassed? Would you do it for $20/hour? Then this job is for you!" commented another user.

This story was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/Super-Monkfish, who shared a tried and true workplace "malicious compliance" tale of overcommitting to a rule.

When an emergency did occur at u/Super-Monkfish's place of work they were quick to listen to their boss's commands and sat and made sure that they kept their phone off and did not use it. Predictably, that meant that the problem was not resolved because no one was made aware of it and the result was a large cost to business for the day of trading.

This misguided tech bro attempted to lend a helping hand to a junior female developer and tried to educate her on the reasons why her coworkers were having issues engaging with her. However, he failed to help when his contribution mostly entailed pointing out how "attractive" and "exotic" she was.

He then took to the internet, posting on Reddit's r/AITA (Am I the A**hole) subreddit to see whether or not he had been in the wrong for his comments. The internet was squarely against him and went as far as to say that he had "fetishized her." They tore him a new one to the point that he felt it necessary to delete his original post to bury the evidence.

One thing is for sure… If you're going to go out of your way to pointedly comment on a female junior's attractiveness and make casually racist comments about her ethnicity then HR is not going to be your biggest fan…

Work is a thankless task. Unless you count a steady paycheck as thanks. In that sense, getting to sleep in a home and buy things is pretty cool. But other than that, totally thankless. And when your job lacks just the right amount of oversight, it's pretty easy to make mistakes. Even if it's literally your one job to dot the "i"s and cross the "t"s, you're bound to confuse them every once in a while, and no one wants to look at great big bouncing itiites. What resulted was a conversation about who owes what to whom in a blended family. The thing is, it's not like she needs emergency medical treatment, needs money for school, or is starting a business or whatever. She just wants to go to Europe "to make things fair" on an amount of money that would make most people literally poop their pants, buy new pants, then poop them again.

People like to think that they are undervalued at work and that if they left their job, the whole operation would fall apart. People who know they are good at their job know that the whole operation would fall apart as soon as they left, and that's exactly what happened to Redditor u/boo-how in this tale posted to r/MaliciousCompliance. This Redditor worked with the owner of her company's mean-spirited daughter for years, and it seems obvious that the daughter in question had no business being in her position: she used her status as the daughter of the owner to take a light workload and then leave. OP even wrote that they would spend their time after the colleague left for the day fixing their earlier mistakes. So, when OP finally got a new and better-paying gig, their colleague didn't respond well at all.

Rather than step up to the plate during OP's last two weeks, the colleague started insulting OP behind their back and staying longer to bookkeep, suddenly insisting that OP was the reason their department was not as strong as it could be. According to the story, by the time this Redditor finally left the company, they had fully given up on helping out a rude colleague, allowing nepotism to spread its nasty wings and likely lose the business money and clients along the way. Manager Late For Web Meeting on Employee's Day Off, Witnesses Literal Inferno Via Zoom

This volunteer firefighter was threatened to be fired while attending a fire on their day off. Their boss called them while they were out attending a fire in the bush (Aus/NZ slang for a thick undergrowth forest with smaller trees and lots of plants at ground level) and demanded that they attend a virtual meeting in 10 minutes' time or they were fired. The manager was late for their own meeting and when they finally arrived they demanded that the firefighter turn their camera and mic on. 

They were greeted with the blazing inferno of the fire that the firefighter was attending, with the firefighter fully suited up in all of their glory.

Nature has a thing for crabs. It just can't get rid of them. Fossil records have shown us that stuff just won't stop evolving into the shelled, clawed bastards. Night Club Employee Gets Harassed By Customer, Has Security Kick Patron Out

Keeping your hands to yourself is a pretty general rule we all learn early in life, but some people — like the night club patron in this story from Reddit's r/pettyrevenge — apparently need to be reminded of that message as adults. Redditor u/NIMTYPE0 described a shift at their job at a nightclub in which a customer at the club decided to tug on his hair while he was working, collecting empty cups and generally keeping the club clean for customers. When the OP told the customer not to touch him, the customer just laughed — that is, until the employee got club security involved and told them to kick the rude guy out.

While security pulled the guy outside, our OP sounds like he was pretty shaken up from having someone actually touch them while at work, which we can all agree is a big no-no. When the OP passed the customer again later in the shift, the guy actually apologized, though with a weird claim that he was actually trying to shake OP's hand when he grabbed his hair. The head bouncer at the club eventually kicked this annoying customer and his friend out, sending a message that you absolutely cannot touch an employee while they are at work. With all the media around cancer treatment and chemotherapy, it's pretty easy to get an oversimplified impression of what a cancer diagnosis can mean. Fortunately for this woman, she had an operable form of stage 0 breast cancer, so the prognosis is looking pretty good. When she told her friends about it, she left out some important information, and left them to their own devices on the matter. Thinking their friend was going to go through the arduous process of chemotherapy, they all decided to shave their heads for their friend. 

Who can really blame them for wanting to make their friend feel better? It's definitely in the right vein of what we'd appreciate our friends doing for us, though it is hilariously misguided. There hearts were in the right place, even if their hair isn't. Those are some supportive people, and we should all be so lucky to have friends like them.

Viral Image of Insane Sign Promises Customers a Bounty For Turning In Employees

This viral image has drawn the ire of the internet and has popped up in multiple locations over the last few hours since it was first posted. 

The image was first posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit by user u/fishshake, where Reddit's Admins quickly removed it for violating Reddit's terms of service and failing to redact personal information, including the name of the restaurant where the sign was allegedly posted and the email address of the owner. Despite the thread being deleted, it is still at the top of Reddit's r/all and has earned a whopping 52k upvotes. 

The alleged restaurant is part of a chain of restaurants called "WifeSaver," which appears to have multiple locations throughout Georgia and North Carolina. However, it is unclear which specific location the sign was allegedly posted in. 

This version of the image was posted to r/Facepalm with the owner's email address and the restaurant's name redacted. Reddit's admins have not removed this version of the image, and it is currently sitting at 10k upvotes.

Comments have been selected from these two threads and generally express outrage and disgust at the work environment that this sign telegraphs. 

"This is a huge red flag not to work for them." commented u/Chocococolatte. While u/wdjm expressed their thoughts with the statement, "What a toxic work environment."

This thread was posted on Reddit's r/AITA subreddit by the wife,  u/GoldSun777, who is appealing to the readers to see who is being unreasonable in this couple's spat. 

Overwhelmingly, as they often are when it comes to birth and pregnancy, the commenters of the subreddit are completely on the wife's side, pointing out that her comfort during the birth is paramount as she will be the one pushing a living being out of her body.

"When did squeezing a whole other person out of your vagina become a spectator sport?" commented SimplySam4210, adding some commentary to the apparent rise of husband's wanting everyone they know present when their wife gives birth.

Karen Freaks Out At Priest In Liquor Store, Gets Arrested

Priests are allowed to drink alcohol. Say it with us: priests are allowed to drink alcohol. This wild story about a priest who decided to pick up a few bottles of wine and a nice whiskey from a local liquor store comes to us via Redditor u/justme23222, who posted to r/IDontWorkHereLady after a woman grew belligerent when initially mistaking him for a liquor store employee. At first, the woman in question merely mistook this priest for someone who worked at the store, but when he explained to her that he was a priest, things got wild. 

Apparently, the woman at the liquor store did not like seeing a priest in a liquor store and could not control herself, hurling insults, her purse, and even some of the bottles of wine available at the store at the OP and eventually at the store employee once he returned from the back. Things got bad enough that the employee was hit in the head with a bottle, leading to responding police officers to call for an ambulance. According to the OP, the woman involved in this scenario got off on community service, and nobody ever discovered why she reacted so wildly to encountering a priest at a liquor store.

Internet Irate, Mother Written-Up At Work For Attending Son's Emergency Surgery

This mother was written up for attending her son's emergency surgery, and the company she works for has drawn the ire of the internet. It all came to a head when her son notified her on a Friday that he was going in for surgery on his ACL the following Wednesday and would need someone to care for him. His mother wanted and needed to be that person. 

She works as a dental hygienist and attempted to give the workplace notification of her need to take time off the following week. Her work refused to let her take leave and so she opted to take the time unpaid. That should have been the end of it, but when she returned to work she was given this disciplinary note.

The thread and image of the note was posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit by the son, who is outraged on his mother's behalf. 

Commenters are outraged as well and have been blasting the dentists office where she works and telling her to quit her job.

There are undoubtedly some double-ups there, and you could distill them into specific categories or expound as much as you want to… but I'm not going to sit here and argue semantics. The point is that people build their personalities off of some weird doodads. I'm not specifically  trying to put Military Wives on blast here, so please don't flame this post ladies. The thing is, everyone does it during their adult life.

I'm not preaching from a pulpit here; I do it too. If you had known me from the ages of 16-21, you would have known me exclusively for the sport that I participated in. Hell, even now, I've just traded it in for a different sport and whatever "flavor of the month" hyperfixation I currently have.

We're all just a bunch of meatbags with electricity running through us, and we tend to get our circuits wired in particular ways. The tribalist part of us wants to identify with and as something to distinguish and differentiate ourselves from billions of other meatbag-batteries out there. Plus, there's a certain comfort to claiming a little slice of society as your "own."
