Essential Engineer Fired For His New Supervisor's Malicious Mistake, Hired Back On Steep Contract Rate When Company Faces Millions in Losses

This worker, who was the sole person at the company who was capable of doing his job, ended up on the wrong side of a malicious manager. When the manager made an extremely obvious error and let an entire (now unstaffed) department fall over he was sure to hang it on u/PeaceNGrease

The thing is... since u/PeaceNGrease was the only person capable and qualified of doing his job, they quickly realized that they were going to lose millions of dollars. Which left u/PeaceNGrease in the ideal position to negotiate a high contracted rate to train the new hires.

The big takeaway from this story seems to be that he should have asked for more. But $20,000 is a pretty penny and will pay for a nice vacation that he wouldn't have gotten otherwise!

For more stories about appalling management check out this guy's story about being fired for asking for a raise.

Wholesome Memes To Deploy Those Feels

It's a personal choice to spend your whole day learning about mistakes and horror, but at the same time it can get to be an enormous bummer that makes you lose faith in people. That's why it's a decent idea to clear the air every once in a while with some wholesome memes. It's important to remind oneself that people are still basically decent, and we could use a wholesome shot of niceness.

Mechanic Takes on Job He Shouldn't, Destroys Engine, Has to Pay

This mechanic, u/Ok_Relationship3160, specializes in older vehicles. He tried to take on a job on a newer vehicle to replace a timing chain. He didn't know that he needed to reset the sensors for the valve train and ended up basically totaling the engine.

At least he is doing the honest thing here and paying to get the engine repaired. Sounds like the customer is handling it well too.

Dad Finds Out Wife Cheated on Him For Years, Kids Might Not Be His, Threatens to Cut Them Off If They Don't Get a DNA Test

There is so much to unpack here it's hard to even know where to start.

First off, the mom is clearly an a-hole if she is willing to cheat on her husband and possibly birth two children who were a result of that affair. Who does she think she is... Cerci Lannister?

Second, the dad is obviously a scumbag too if he honestly thinks that it's ok to cut off the kids that he just spent 18 years raising just because their mother is a dishonest cheater.

Either way, these kids parents are a-holes and man that's rough. These parents are worse than the ones who told their son that he couldn't get married on his entitled brother's divorce anniversary.

Terrifying Signs that Speak the Language of Fear

Put simply, there are a lot of things out there that can kill you, such as electricity, fires, electricity fires, strong currents, loose animals, and accidentally wandering into firing ranges. Even a big hole can be ridiculously dangerous if it's deceptively placed. It's better that we have spooky signs to remind us that, while we're basically at the top of the food chain, we aren't invincible. The signs can get pretty creepy though.
