Representatives from EA and Epic Games were on the hot seat in front of the UK Parliamentary Panel on Wednesday. They were there to combat claims that the game industry encourages addictive gambling tendencies with their "loot boxes."
One representative had an issue with referring to this in-game feature as "loot boxes" and instead wanted to categorize them as "surprise mechanics." Going on to advocate that it was a simple matter of playing into the joy of surprising gamers with cool gifts. Okay, or you could say that's the same thing as a hopeful gambler buying a few scratch-offs, and hoping to be surprised by a "prize."

We have some prime examples of blatant stupidity run amok. These people clearly fell through the cracks, and this is the result. Fair to say that if I was out walking around, these shining moments of ignorance wouldn't fail to stop me in my tracks. Weddings can be an absolute drag. You have to tell all your relatives and family friends the same spiel over and over about where you are in life, and the conversation is dry because you're not gonna see this people ever again unless there's some kind of "divorce party." Melissa Croce streamlined the process with what started off as a joke, but then turned into an all-out project. It even comes complete with a "Why is Melissa Single" dialogue tree so you don't even have to talk to her. It's great, if you don't like people.
