Unlucky Employee Finds HIS Job Listed Online, Owner Secretly Looking to Replace Them

An employee was casually browsing job listings online when they came across an all-too-familiar listing. The job was listed for the small company they work for (which has no capacity for any more employees) and described their exact role.

The thread was posted to Reddit's popular r/antiwork subreddit by the user u/oldbuddyoldfriendpal with the title "found my employer's job posting on indeed to replace me." The subreddit, which deals in all kinds of employment-related content, often sees posts such as this where an employee has experienced something unfortunate in their workplace

Since its posting, the viral thread has received 53k upvotes and seen over 3500 comments. Comments have offered their condolences and even offered advice as to how the employee should best handle the situation. Others still shared their own similar stories and experiences.

"Make him fire you so you can claim unemployment." suggested user marukatao.

"Same thing happened to me with a dentist. He asked me to do a job I'm not trained for, that you need certification for, and is 100% illegal for me to do without those documents. I said I wasn't comfortable doing those tasks, but I was willing to go back to school to get the accreditation. Guess who was let go?" shared Firethorn101.

The antiwork subreddit sees all kinds of stories such as this. Take for example this worker who was fired for refusing to come to work while sick.

Guy Cheats, Lies, Gets Exposed to His Mother By Vengeful Ex

This girl grew very close to her ex's mother and when the pair split after her boyfriend cheated on her she was devastated to learn that he had told his mother that she had been the one who cheated. After repeated lies and manipulation she had put up with enough and decided to set the record straight. It was time for revenge

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit by Redditor Street_Blackberry174, who shared their story of revenge to the popular sub.

Commenters offered their support and condolences for the woman's experience.

"Your ex was text book man child. He did you a favour showing you his true colours. Your ex's mum was right, you do deserve somebody better. I'm glad things worked out and you have a man, as your ex's mother put it 'worthy of you'." commented kathjoy, who had the top comment on the post.

"Thank you." replied the poster. "Yes I am in a much better place. My husband is the kindest most supportive man - he even reminds me to pick something I'd like over going with whatever anyone else wants."

School Promises to "Provide Dinner" For Teacher Appreciation Week, Gives Them Uncooked Spagetti in a Bag

These teachers were promised that they would have dinner provided to them during teacher appreciation week. Normally such an offered gesture brings to mind images of a home-cooked or catered meal. Instead, teachers were delivered plastic bags containing the barest store-brand basics that might help one to cook a pot of spaghetti (some assembly required.) The image has gone viral prompting bewildered and outraged responses online. The images were posted to the popular r/antiwork subreddit by Reddit user, u/MxKarlaMarxxx, who claimed to be a school teacher.

"Cheapest store brand they could find. Could not be bothered to provide you with actual cooked food." commented Starrunnerforever. "They appreciate you alright...like the plague you are on their profits and bonuses"

It's important here to remember that nothing is quite as satisfying as receiving acknowledgment for a job well done. Often extra effort and care can go overlooked. It doesn't really need to be an accolade, just a head nod recognizing that you go above and beyond can speak volumes. Of course, by no means should this head nod be used as a replacement for an actual reward or growth in one's role but it does serve well to acknowledge in between.

Acknowledgment itself can be a tricky maze to navigate. Well, not all that difficult if you have genuine intent behind it but when you're just trying to check a box on a task sheet such as "Provide Dinner for Teachers During Teacher Appreciation Week" it can be surprisingly easy to mess it up. Just remember, if you're unsure that your gesture will be received as genuine, it can be better to just send a card.
