That kid was playing with fire. Christ. The difference of mere inches ended up saving that kid's life. The poor driver must've had the scare of a lifetime. Kudos to the Volvo truck's emergency brake, and double kudos to the driver's reaction time.

As explained in this video, the mouth movements you see can influence how you hear a particular sound, even if it's the same sound. It's the McGurk Effect at work, and much like Yanny/Laurel or that damn blue/gold dress it just makes us feel stupid to know how dumb our brains are.

Okay, maybe most of us would haven't let that slide, but we all know someone who would. There are a fair share of design failures that deserve some blame.

If you have skeletons hanging out in your closet, it's probably best to not make it your personal mission to get an employee terminated over a whole bunch of nonsense. In this case, the employee did a little research on their old senior manager after being fired, and ended up learning that the senior manager had a bit of a troubled, secret past. Suffice to say, that was it for the senior manager, and the employee ended up being offered their gig.

Our eyes are doing the best they can, but sometimes they get in a little trouble. Just one off angle, a misplaced shadow, or weird reflection can have our brains reeling to make sense of double take images of intriguing perspective. It's a world of incomplete buildings, people with dogs for faces, and magically disappearing stuff. And all it takes is some strange perspective.
