'All that for a cup of soup': Karen's card gets declined so she gets her husband to yell at and rough up the young cashier, manager comes to the rescue

Sometimes people do things in real life that are just so mind-blowingly bonkers that it makes you question all of humanity. How did you get to here? What did the world do to this person to turn them into this monster? This… Karen. Ahhh yes, the notorious Karen in the wild. A Karen alone is already enough to make you want to punch a wall, but add a Karen husband partnered with them and you want to run through a wall.

That's what happened to one person who used to work at Panera—she posted the story on Reddit's r/f***youkaren. She was freshly 20 and it was her first job ever. She was the cashier at a Panera when a Karen came in during a slow hour. The Karen was the only customer in the establishment and the employee kept asking if she needed help, but the Karen ignored everyone. She walked up to the touch screen and place her order there. Fine, that's fair, sometimes people don't feel like talking to anybody. However, a few minutes later she comes marching to the counter huffing and puffing wonder where her cup of soup was. The girl checked all the orders and it turns out her's never came through because her card was declined.

The woman made such a fuss that the employee was going to just give her the soup, but she was a jerk instead and ran away. A minute later her huge 5'11" husband comes in and starts screaming at this 20 year old for messing up his wife's soup order—a male Karen, if you will. He gets so entitled that he marches in the back to yell at the cooks and when the cashier tried to stop him, he turned and grabbed her by the shoulders and started shaking her.

Luckily, the manager came to the rescue and wrestled the entitled Karen husband off of the employee. The manager then escorted him out and came back to check on the employee and gave them the rest of the day off.

We know, right? How can people possibly think it's okay to act this way? We have no idea. Read the entire story and people's reactions below!

AITA: 'You're an adult, not a princess': Stick-in-the-mud husband slams imaginative wife for playing make-believe games with their young daughter, ruining her childhood in the process

The best part about being a child is playing imaginary games with your friends, parents, or siblings. One day you're a riotous pirate, the next day you're a princess in a tower, and the day after that, you can be a mermaid on a beach. With your imagination, you can go anywhere and be anything.

This illusion is a fragile and elusive thing though! All it takes is one Debbie-downer or grouchy-pants person to shatter your imaginary world and ruin the game. For one little girl who played princess games with her mother, she had her world brought down by her own humdrum, lame-o father. The mother was happily going along with her play-pretend sessions with her young daughter, getting into character and dressing up in princessy clothes, but the dad was bothered by their "childish" games.

Isn't that the point of being a child? To act childish sometimes?

Not only did the dad make fun of the mom and belittle her for dressing up with their daughter, but he humiliated her in front of their kid. Redditors weigh in on the dad's negative response to his child and wife playing fun games together, largely agreeing that he's the jerk, or the villain, of their imaginary games.

New employee cashes several wrong paychecks, is dismayed when her 'paycheck [is] ripped from her hands'

Who is responsible when writing a paycheck goes wrong? This person, u/Fair_Blueberry_4706, told a story of a woman she knows. They met through an online community, and the OP was surprised to see "Kevina" asking for donations. Why? She was apparently paid several paychecks that weren't hers. Instead of returning it to her employer, this Kevina decided to take advantage of the situation.

Apparently, she also didn't consider what would happen if her newfound paychecks got taken from her. So now she's had the rug pulled out from under her, and needs to ask online for money. The OP is rolling their eyes at how goofy this mistake was, and people in the comments were split on who actually is to blame in a scenario like this.

After you scroll through this Kevina's nightmare, check out how this guy dealt with an inconsiderate neighbor during a snow storm.

20+ Classic April Fools Day Pranks and Fails

Let's be honest: April Fools Day is the G-rated version of that movie The Purge.

Now, before we scroll through the following classic pranks to reign in this sacred holiday, I'd like to first announce that I do not necessarily condone whatever prank you have in mind for your significant other, parents, bosses, or coworkers. The key word there is "necessarily." If a prank is brilliant and relatively harmless, you should be forgiven by the person you are pranking. That being said, the one time I tried to prank someone for April Fools Day was when my sister and my 12-year-old self thought it would be a good idea to put plastic wrap under our parents' toilet seat. We are fully grown adults now and we still haven't been forgiven for this. So like I said, I do not necessarily condone April Fools Day behavior, though as an objective viewer, these pranks are always fun to watch.
