'I want something classy that isn't embarrassing to be seen at': Cranky hotel guest throws a fit over a campfire, swiftly regrets it

Hotel clerks have to deal with so many stupid questions. This front desk manager wrote about how they work in a national park at a hotel, and as with most customer service roles, they have some guests that can never be satisfied with their surroundings.

One guest approached the OP to ask this gem of a question: "I know the county has a burn ban going on right now, but since the lodge is on federal land, it doesn't apply. So I can start a fire on the grass just outside my cabin, right?" The poor OP had to deal with this brain genius, who just could not understand why he couldn't set fire to the grass during a burn ban (meaning no fires whatsoever due to extreme risks!).

Some entitled folks will always believe they're the exception to the rule. It boggles the mind to think someone believes their right to a cozy campfire is worth possibly burning down the entire area they're staying at. This male Karen just didn't think anything through before accosting the front desk attendant, and it really backfired on him.

Up next, put on a cup of tea, grab a scone, and check out these cheeky UK memes

25 Cheeky memes about the UK

Americans really are afraid of roundabouts! We do not know how to use them! And don't even get us started on scones…

If you've ever visited the United Kingdom, or if you live there, you'll probably relate to this random assortment of fails and memes. I have recently [today, as I wrote this] become a fan of the cat who lives at Downing Street, working as the Chief Mouser. Americans should immediately adopt this tradition and get a cat to work in all levels of politics. I think that would solve many problems.

After you scroll through these very British memes, check out this tale of one dude's malicious compliance against a car rental company that quickly turned messy, to the company's dismay.

'You sound like someone who loves a job that will never love you back': Employee screws herself over by working unpaid hours

This employee thought she was pulling off some malicious compliance, but in the end, she just made things worse for herself. The problem is, she shared her story via this thread on Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit fully convinced that she had pulled a fast one on her employer. Yikes!

She was quickly given a firm dose of reality by some ruthless people in the comments section. If we think about this more broadly, this is really just further evidence that we have been conditioned to do what's most efficient for our employers and companies rather than look out for ourselves and ensure that we are being treated fairly every step of the way. There are certainly more options u/reneemul could present to her boss so that the outcome is both realistic and equitable. Keep scrolling below to see what people had to say in the comments. For more, here's a story of petty revenge involving a boomer Karen.

Major Tattoo Fail Sends Girl Home in Tears, Spends Proceeding Weeks Trying to Scrub Them Off, Works Enough to Get Them Expertly Fixed

If you didn't know this already, tattoos are permanent… As parents like to remind their tatted up children quite often. So what do you do if you get a bad tattoo or it comes out messed up somehow? Well, usually you either wait until it's healed and spend thousands of dollars getting it removed by a professional. Or you talk with another tattoo artist, preferably one you trust, and see how you can transform it or cover it up to look better. Others however take a riskier route and try to hinder the healing of the tattoo so it doesn't heal properly and it fades. This is possible, but not guaranteed and can cause serious scarring or even infection. So we highly recommend you DON'T do that.

That being said, this girl got some truly heinous fine line tattoos from a TikTok tattoo artist she saw and it sent her into tears. She was so desperate that she spent the proceeding weeks scrubbing her tattoos with oil and salt and soaking them in hydrogen peroxide. She did it enough, and the tattoos we're light enough to begin with, that she was actually able to significantly fade them. And with that she went to her usual tattoo artist and got them expertly fixed. She learned her lesson the hard way and vows never to "cheat" on her tattoo artist again.

'At this point I'm petty and angry': Rental company tries to charge guy for extra day, cue devastatingly dirty malicious compliance

Companies really hate when their consumers know their rights, which one customer used to their advantage when they needed a rental car. As the customer, you're subject to a company's rules the moment you sign a contract. But if you just follow that contract to the letter, following all the rules, there's nothing the company can do to stop you.

One poster shared this experience to r/MaliciousCompliance, one car rental company tried to screw him over after renting a car for five weeks. They needed the car while their personal vehicle was in the shop, but it seemed like an easy enough way to return the vehicle after the time was up — OP just used a dropbox to deliver the keys. But after checking out their personal vehicle, the OP realized it was still broken. Annoying! And not even the most annoying part of their story, because the headache with the car rental company was just beginning.

Next up, this Karen came into a company as a bookkeeper and started micromanaging every penny spent, to the major annoyance of all the workers. So one worker just did exactly what Karen said…

'I told her she’s boring and has to fake her personality': Woman is jealous that her roommate speaks multiple languages, gets roasted online

Jealousy isn't a great personality either, my friend! This woman shared her side of the story via this thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit, and the result was one of the more vindictive and selfish AITA posts we've come across in some time. Now, she's 19 years old, so perhaps we can blame her complete immaturity on her age, but that might be way too generous.

Essentially, she got extremely jealous of her roommate because she spoke multiple languages and would watch films and listen to music in those languages. Her roommate would also speak to her other friends in those languages. If the Redditor felt left out and longed to be included, there's certainly a way to go about having that conversation. However, telling her roommate that she's boring is simply not going to help the situation. Keep scrolling below to see her get absolutely roasted in the comments section. For more stories like this, we've got one right here for you about two roommates and their cat drama.
