AITA: ‘She won’t attend the wedding and it’s all your fault’ : Entitled Lady Unfairly Demands Sister Pay For Her Daughter’s Wheelchair Rental Fee, Leading To Family Dispute

Family weddings always lead to drama, one way or another. This time, a woman took to the r/AITA subreddit, seeking Redditers' opinions about her 'selfish sister' who was getting married, and picked a venue that wasn't up to par with this woman's expectations regarding wheelchair accessibility. See, the woman's daughter had disabilities, and the wedding would be held at the beach, in the sand. That is not exactly wheelchair friendly…

To be fair and even out the playing field a little, it's important I mention that the venue did in fact have the option to rent a wheelchair that is designed specifically to endure sand — this option came at the cost of $110. This woman simply didn't want to pay it. Commenters came to her sister's defense, and after careful inspection, it's not hard to see why.

"I had a horrible job interview yesterday": Young worker shares nightmare job interview experience, internet responds

Interviews are a two-way street: the candidate is trying to figure out whether or not they want to work for the employer just as much as the employer is trying to figure out if they're interested in the candidate. Still, often there are multiple candidates but only one position; this can create a power imbalance and desperation on the part of the candidate that leads to only one direction of the street being walked. As such, candidates may miss major red flags from the interviewer or dismiss them in favor of having a job

'I have gotten at least a grand worth of free food': Top 40 Secret Confessions of the Week (February 23, 2023)

These folks confessed anonymously to their most embarrassing and cringy moments. Every day people send dozens of submissions to @fesshole, the Twitter page based in Britain where you can submit your deepest darkest secrets. The page will post them up anonymously, and there are some that are truly shocking!

We've gathered some of the most recent Fesshole posts that are shocking and face-palm inducing. There seem to be lots of husbands who confess to hiding things from their wives, and there are a few people who fessed up to childhood wrongdoings. While there are lots of confessions that are embarrassing, there are also sweet ones, like a dude who found out his GF wanted to surprise him with a vacation, but put the date in their shared calendar. He isn't going to spoil the surprise – unless she also reads the Fesshole page, that is!

After you check out this batch of cringy confessions, read about this cashier who's fed up with Karens, and has started charging them a "stupid tax."

'Self-inflicted stupid tax': One cashier's tiny slice of revenge on crabby Karens

Faced with hangry Karens one too many times, this cashier has had enough. As they wrote to r/MaliciousCompliance, u/iceariina often rings up customers who don't quite know what they want. Lots of customers will come in to the burger joint they work at and order a cheeseburger, no cheese. But actually, you can save a quarter if you just order a hamburger. Does a Karen want to hear that? No, they never do! They just want a cheese-less cheeseburger.

Since these Karens at the OP's workplace decided the customer is always right, the OP agreed. Ok Karen, have it your way! The malicious compliance makes the OP feel better while also giving them the satisfaction of knowing they screwed over a Karen. As they noted, they also probably got like $2 extra for their employer, so good job for that too, u/iceariina.

After that, read about one institution's email crash that caused a massive meltdown, all because one person sent an email to everybody.

'Witch #2 did not get hired': Employee gets revenge on former coworker after she tried to apply for a job at their current company

We all have daydreams about screwing over our former coworkers, right? You know, the ones who made your life at your old job utterly miserable. The ones who were totally unprofessional and got away with it while you had to suffer. Thankfully, if this story serves as any indication, there is a world in which you may finally get your much-needed revenge.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit by u/Motya1978, who explained that after years of working at a "dysfunctional academic medical center," her senior boss was replaced by Witch #1, and her new manager (Witch #2) forced the employee to draft a completely unrealistic business proposal. Well, as Justin Timberlake once said, what goes around comes around. By the time the employee was working somewhere else, she eventually learned that Witch #2 was applying for a job at their current company. Keep scrolling below to see how the Redditor got their revenge.

'The email systems melted down. Everything went offline': Completely clueless employee emails 30,000 people about an apartment, spawning thousands of emails

This dude told a hilarious story of email insanity, writing, "I witnessed this astounding IT meltdown around 2004 in a large academic organization…" As the OP, u/sfsdfd, told to r/talesfromtechsupport, one employee ruined an entire email system for basically everyone involved.

It all started in an organization of about 30,000 people in an academic setting. Lots of people went on vacation at the same time, so there were lots of "I'm on vacation" auto-replies going out. That was no problem at all. The issue arose when one employee decided to bring a personal issue to the attention of literally everyone, including the CEO!

All this woman wanted to do was ask if anyone had any information about a local apartment she could rent. Unfortunately, her request triggered an auto-reply nightmare, thanks to the many folks who were vacationing at the time. These emails kept replying to each other — and to the 30,000 people on the email chain — resulting in literally a half million emails to this system! It sounds like an annoying or hilarious day to be at that job, depending on who you are, and at least the OP got a great laugh out of it!

Next, this person got the pleasure of reporting their own company's labor practices – not that they didn't try to tell their HR department first.

'You can't quit on a Friday': Company ignores employee's two-week notice, tries to fire him after he already left the company

This IT guy was working for a large firm as a contractor for their IT department. His experience was one that people often have within a giant, bloated corporate behemoth: The managers were unreliable, the expectations were too high, and the company had an odd culture that tried to give you more work, as congratulations for a job well done, rather than pay you fairly.

That sounds like something that the owner or CEO thought of one day when they were sitting on the toilet, and all the "Yes Men" surrounding them were just too afraid to tell them that that idea should have been flushed along with the other waste.

But, the CEO, like many other employers, thought that they could pull this one off; prattling on about their culture, utterly blind to the fact that each and every one of their employees knows exactly what they're doing and hates them for it.

The IT guy left after his original notice period was up, despite the fact that the employer had never accepted it. When they called him up on his next shift, wondering where he was, they tried to fire him for no-showing.

Keep reading for the full story. This whole experience sounds strangely similar to the time that a Karen boss refused to take her employee's resignation and left to go shopping instead.

'Not my job, not my problem': Coworker gets fired for questioning policies, company suffers after no one takes on her work duties

This job seems to check all the boxes of a toxic work environment. Reading this epic tale of malicious compliance is like coming across one red flag after another. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/Current-Fly8346, who began working for this family-run operation while in college. Pretty quickly, they started taking on more responsibilities with no pay bump. They also got a friend (Katy) hired and didn't receive their promised referral bonus.

The CEO and his wife accused the Redditor and Katy of talking too much in the office, so when they fully separated themselves from one another, they also stopped communicating about projects, thereby making their productivity, well, less productive. Eventually, Katy voiced concerns about how the business was run and was unfairly fired. Rather than take on her duties, the Redditor decided that enough was enough and refused to be responsible for any more than what was included in her job description. Eventually, the company's sales began to suffer, and the higher-ups began to take notice. Keep scrolling below to see how the Redditor defended themselves when they were confronted by the office Karen.
