Landlord Sends Over the Most Red Flag Renters Lease Ever, TikToker Calls Them Out

Always read the fine print… Seriously.

People Share The Most Unprofessional Thing A Doctor Has Told Them

It's cool to have a funny mechanic. Like, who cares if someone says your tires are smoother than peanut butter. That's totally fine and expected. But having a doctor try to get a laugh while looking at your junk doesn't exactly inspire any confidence in their ability to practice medicine.

And even worse than the ones who are try out their new hour while your pants are down are the ones who literally don't know what they're talking about. Having a doctor tell you that your very real pain is "just in your head" or that the first line of treatment for a blood clot should be prayer is just a goddamn horror show.

Most of us have the benefit of seeing professional doctors, but every so often you get one who just doesn't seem to really understand that as a medical professional, they're supposed to be, you know, medically professional.

Supermarket Karen Assaults Kid Helping Their Disabled Parent, Arrested, Cries in Court

This bewildering "Supermarket Karen" decided that she needed help from one of the store's personal shoppers. Except the store didn't have personal shoppers because that hasn't been a thing in grocery stores since like 1930 or something. She approached the "personal shopper" who was helping a woman seated in a wheelchair and began waving her list in their face and demanding her own service. To her abject horror, the personal shopper refused to divert her attention away from the other customer and continued helping them first. To make matters worse, the insolent employee began spouting something about helping her mother and not working there at all! Karen decided that this would not stand and moved to physically seize the "employee." This would lead to her downfall and to her bringing out the only trick she had left up her sleeve… The "victim" card. This poor defenseless Karen didn't mean to; it was just a misunderstanding.

Good one, Karen; You totally fooled them all.

Teaching Memes That Are At Least Better Than Homework

It's always weird, the moment you get old enough and realize that the teacher is just another person. And then you get a little older than that and realize that the teacher is a person who's at work, and like all jobs, it can suck. It doesn't make us reflect on our academic careers more fondly, but it does put things in a different perspective. Most notably, a perspective that makes it a little more obvious why you always watched a movie on the days after major drinking holidays.

Being a teacher is a rough gig. If you do your job terribly, you could be creating a future criminal. And if you do your job terrifically, you could still be creating a future criminal. Life just kind of works out that way. Anyway, here are teacher memes, which have the same hopeless vibe as work memes. It's as enlightening as it is understandable and disappointing.

Boss Badmouths Receptionist, Eats Her Words When She Gets Abuser Arrested

Being someone's boss might give you more clout at a company, but it doesn't make you more of a person than them. In every industry, people seem to have a really hard time understanding that concept.

This tale is another one of those times that someone with bigger shoes thinks that the can be an ass to someone lower in the work hierarchy. Except instead of the higher-up getting fired or inconvenienced, some actual good came of it. If not for this receptionist's quick thinking, this whole story could have played out a lot differently. Maybe this is a reminder that the point of having a workplace is so that everyone should work as a team to help each other do a better job. Maybe.

Work should be a place where people do their jobs, not where your boss gets to shit-talk you so they can feel powerful. Here's the time a power-tripping boss who reminded an employee she could quit, so she did.

Wholesome Memes and Moments to Lighten the Load

For every one of us, life is a series of ups and downs. And honestly, we have very few complaints about the ups. The ups are on the whole, pretty fantastic. Ten out of ten score for life's ups.

But in the down parts, it's really easy to completely forget about the ups. People are very skilled at tricking themselves into thinking that everyone is in it for themselves and true compassion is a myth. But the reality is that almost everyone is trying to do their best at any given time, and we just need a reminder that this whole life thing is a pretty good deal.

It's probably healthy to take a moment and force yourself to accept that people are decent, especially when it doesn't feel that way. And even if you're totally unconvinced that people are generally alright, at least there's dogs. Dogs don't mess around, man. Those things freakin' love you.

Company Refuses to Give Employee New Contract, So They Abide the Terms of Their Old One

This retail worker was finally promoted to a management position after jumping through "1000 hoops" to get there. When they were finally promoted, they were given their raise but were not given a new contract, despite repeatedly asking. When they got an offer from another company offering a serious pay bump, they realized that since they were still on their old contract… They were still on their old notice period.

This story was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by the employee, Redditor u/Garfish-woosh, who shared the story of their compliance with the terms of their old contract.

Commenters applauded the poster's actions and noted that the employer had reaped what they had sowed by refusing to give them a new contract.

Others shared their own stories and similar experiences.

"Haha, my brother did this exact thing." commented Hattix, "They trained him up, gave him the extra £, but never re-did his contract, so he never got the other benefits (mostly mileage and medical). His notice period didn't change from 2 weeks to 8 weeks."

"So when he handed in his notice a year and half later (unrelated reasons), they said it was 8 weeks. He asked them to show him that in his contract, and they went all quiet."

Some of these stores are 100+ years old and walking in them is like going back in time.
