'Google Street View driver: You're all alone for 8+ hours a day': 25+ Jobs that seem extra fun, but don't live up to the hype

Who knew that being a park ranger or a background actor in a film wouldn't be fun jobs? There are so many jobs in the world, but some are certainly way more entertaining than others.

I've always thought a great job would be to test ice cream, which is a real career! However, I imagine you'd get sick of eating ice cream pretty fast. That's the thing with these jobs — even if it's something you might do for fun on your day off, having to do something every single day can get monotonous really quickly.

On this r/AskReddit thread, the question posed was "Which job is a LOT less fun than most people expect?" The answers were so eye-opening! From Build a Bear employees to archaeologists, people from all walks of life chimed in to share their experiences in jobs that sound appealing, but aren't always so fun IRL.

Next, read this classic internet tale of one dude who got back at his food-stealing roommate, but the way he did it had some commenters freaking out.

'Remote work is ending, come in Monday': Company demands workers return, ignores mixed reactions

What is it about remote working that some companies hate so much? If your employees can work from home just as well as they can from the office, why not let them? This company is about to have a lesson in valuing its' employees autonomy, as the poster shared to r/Sysadmin.

If you have a job that you can do entirely from your laptop, it's easy to work remotely. Basically all employees love it — you can easily get work done from the comfort of your own home. There are no coworkers to distract you, you can grab a snack from your fridge whenever you feel like it, and most importantly, you can lay in bed in your pajamas and your boss is none the wiser!

As the OP tells it, the workers at their company are not happy to hear that they're suddenly expected to return to the office. I mean, why would they be? It implies that they aren't working to their full potential at home, which just isn't true for most workers. Workers are beginning to realize that they have a lot of power, and I hope the OP and their team manage to get through some tough negotiations about working remotely or in the office. I really hope they update us on the situation — I'm dying to know how many employees will go to another place of employment.

Next up, this small business trusted an influencer to promote some sweet treats, only for this bakery to get ghosted.

'You sure mate? It's a lotta sand': Australian Builder rudely refuses to notify contacts of his new number, ends up with a whole lotta sand where he doesn't want it

When you change your phone number you should probably do your due diligence and let people who are likely to contact you know that there is a new way to do so. Otherwise, whatever poor sod ends up with your old number is just going to be inundated with requests to reach you. This is especially true if you're operating a business or doing something that fields a high volume of phone calls. But, if you ended up with my old number, it would never even be an issue; I don't stay in contact with anyone, and my phone hardly rings anyways, so the chances that you're going to get a mistaken phone call are nearly zero. Still, if someone named Linguine Larry ever contacts you, I'd appreciate it if you didn't divulge any knowledge of my whereabouts.

Anyways, this builder refused to notify his business contacts of his new number, and as a result, ended up with a whole lotta sand right where he didn't want it.
