The Statue of Liberty Lost Power For Few Hours Last Night, But The Irony Was Lost On No One

Protest,Statue of Liberty,politics

Last night the Statue of Liberty, that Immigrants Welcome sign on New York Harbor, went dark. While many thought that this might be an act of protest, following up on the "Refugees Welcome" sign that was recently draped across the statue's base, a power outage was the culprit.

This didn't stop the Internet from theorizing and joking about the darkness.

goldfish,trolling,prank

Sibling rivalry doesn't have to be complicated.

Twitter user @SamuelAnnis recently stole his sister's goldfish and replaced them with carrots. Here's the kicker: She hasn't noticed yet.

Three days and over 65,000 retweets later, his sister still hasn't noticed. Twitter has, however, and Twitter loves it.

Check out the ongoing prank that might just last all the way to April Fool's Day, if we're lucky.

There's An Obamacare Replacement Bill Called "World's Greatest Healthcare Plan of 2017," Which Republicans Must've Stolen from a Mug or Something

fail politics republicans worlds greatest healthcare plan

That Obamacare replacement really isn't going that well. In addition to making people pay more for less coverage and lying to the public for years, Republicans spent most of a decade complaining about something they never really had any intention of fixing.

But at least there's this, one of the replacement plans is called the "World's Greatest Healthcare Plan of 2017," which they had to have stolen from a "World's Greatest Dad" mug or something.

Now you're probably wondering, how is this real? What the hell is going on? But this is just one of the possible bills that the GOP might use and rename the American Health Care Act.

This is a very real thing that you can read more about here.

Ridiculously Overprotective Boyfriend Refuses to Let Girlfriend Go Out, Ignites String of Enraged Reactions From Internet

The fact that she'd even ask her boyfriend who is playing all the part of a hellishly controlling parental kind of figure, in the first place, was a sign of bad things to come. Also, valid disclaimer: blind rage-inducing shit grammar on the horizon.

15 Women Reveal The Weird Things They Do When Their Partners Aren't Around

marriage,askreddit,weird,women,dating

This nice little thread brought to mind that painfully overused, albeit thought-stirring sentiment, usually peddled off by the nearest cheesy quote junkie in our social media feeds: Who are you when no one is looking? To be perfectly honest, in my case, and I imagine many of my fellow dudes out there: one very strange individual who might not be entirely socially acceptable. These aren't thaat bad in the grand scheme of things, and if anything isn't it reassuring to realize those people in your life aren't complete, autopilot, robots?

Future President Interupts Weather Report to Fart on Meterologist

Ladies and gentleman, the future President of the United States.

Everyone loves a good news blooper and everyone loves a good fart, so how could you not win with this video. So when this rambunctious youngster beaming with potential decided to spice up this weather report with a spicy little fart, he wasn't just doing it for his own amusement, he was doing it for all of us.

"Are you sure? Are you crazy sure?" the future leader of the free world asks the smug meteorologist about his report before farting right on his leg.

No, the future commander-in-chief is not buying it. The president of the future responded by farting on the weatherman and reminding him of the plight of the American farmer.

"Ca ca!" he screamed before the weatherman could answer. "Remember there are farms everywhere and toots."

Yes, there are farms and toots everywhere, future Mr. President, and because of that, you have my vote.

Drunken Fool Attempting to Sneakily Cheat at Pub Trivia Fails In Spectacular, Hilarious Fashion

Let this be a lesson to anyone else out there that enjoys knocking back pints and/or pitchers of trivia-discounted brews more than they do playing an honest and fair game: you've gotta keep your wits about you to get away with shit. Ryan Gosling Doppelganger Hijacks Actual Celeb's Acceptance Speech, Cringeworthy Hilarity Ensues

In a spectacular showing of prank-ish trolling, a German awards show was temporarily paralyzed when a Ryan Gosling lookalike managed to breach security, and accept the actual Gosling's award. If only he'd been more prepared for his speech.

Outside that, the audience literally doesn't know what to do with themselves, and Colin Farrel is wearing the pained, lifeless expression of someone who ended up on a Tinder date that looks nothing like their photos.

Great News! Mark Hamill Is Reading Trump Tweets as the Joker Again

win audio mark hamill joker trump wiretap

If there's one good thing about the Trump presidency, it's that, well...

Ok. You got me.

But still there are these clips of Mark Hamill reading Trump's tweets as the Joker, and those are always pretty fun!

When he reads this Obama wiretapping tweet, it does kind of sound like the paranoid mind of the Joker.

Check out the other clips, too. Put a smaile on that face of yours.

My Dude Over Here Impaled His Lip On A Branch While Skiing and Seems Pretty Ok About It

Fail natty hagood impales face on branch skiing

This dude is paying lip service, literally.

Ski instructor Natty Hagood is a pretty extreme dude. How extreme? So extreme that he refers to impaling his lip on a branch as cutting it "a little to close to a tree while skiing." Yup, while skiing he crashed into a tree and a branch went through his lip.

He seems to think it's pretty cool, though.

via GoFundMe

“I thought maybe my chinstrap got pushed up into my face, so I tried to brush it off and that’s when I felt the stick,” Hagood told the Idaho State Journal. “So, I shook left to right and saw the stick moving in my peripherals. I reached out and grabbed it and wiggled it before realizing it was pretty far in there.”

Hagood is fine. He was able to pay off his dectuctable of $1,250 with the help of a GoFundMe.

But man, these pictures are surreal. Check out the before and after:

Cash Me Outside Girl's Instagram Has Been Hacked By Revolutionaries So Howboutdah?

Danielle Bregoli aka Cash Me Outside Girl aka the 13-year-old with clear mental health issues who the world deemed ok to ridicule, has over 7.4 million followers on Instagram, and everyone got a surprise on their feed this morning.

A hacking group calling themselves "Face Security Group" has taken control of Bregoli's Instagram account and begun posting videos that chastise Danielle's followers for raising her up as a celebrity. Of course, Face seems to be missing the point because Danielle is mostly considered a joke on the internet, not an object of worship — though, one is as sad as the other. Still, the group has replaced her avatar to their logo and her handle to, as The Daily Beast says, "a jumble of Cyrillic text, part of which now references The Washington Post and reads, in Russian, 'Democracy Dies in Darkness.'"

So far the group has posted five times and promises a series of unspecified leaks starting today. To this, Danielle has responded:

Donald Trump Wished Everyone a Happy International Women's Day, and It Went About As Well As You Expected

donald trump,women

Happy International Women's Day, everyone! It's a time to come together and honor the struggle for women's rights for women of all identities.

But whether you're marching, thinking, or striking, one things for sure, that reality-TV gameshow host who once said "When you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab 'em by the pussy. You can do anything" and became the U.S. president anyway, is not a huge fan of equality. In fact, one might even say that he's the world's most infamous sexist.

Still, President Trump, in between live-tweeting Fox and Friend and wandering aimlessly around the house he hates, decided to shoot out these tweets:

And as soon as he sent these clearly disingenuous tweets out, everyone on Twitter decided to bring up the time he bragged about sexual assault. Check it out:

Watch This Nintendo Switch Get Blasted With a Waterjet and Still Work

The Nintendo Switch hasn't had the easiest of launches. While people seem pretty into the system itself, Nintendo has been plagued with dead pixels, controller issues, saving problems, and very few launch titles. Still, the Nintendo 64 lauched with Super Mario 64 and Pilot Wings 64 and people were still pretty psyched sabout it.

Remember?

via Wiffle Gif

But still, you've got to give it up to Nintendo, apparently, they built a pretty sturdy system. I mean, check out this video of someone blasting the Switch with a waterjet at 60,000 PSI. Despite the fact that they cut through the glass and some sort of liquid starts pouring out of the screen, the machine contnues to play Zelda. It's really impressive and cool.

Stephen Colbert Draws the Connections Between Putin and Trump, Ends Up Showering Trump in P

The Trump-Russia connection seems to get more complicated everyday, and with his recent go-nowhere distraction of Obama's wiretaps, it's going o be a while before we get to the bottom of it.

Luckily, Stephen Colbert doesn't have to go through the same vetting process that our legal system does. He can just look at the situation and connect the dots as they fall.

Where do they land? With a whole bunch of P on top of Trump. But I guess that should shock no one.

Watch Jesus Carry His Cross Up an Escalator Without Accounting for the Ceiling

Jesus might be able to turn water into wine, but he can't do the same for a ceiling.

Can't we cut this guy a break. Actually, don't. He nailed it.
