"I thought he overreacted': Wife gets husband in trouble at work after taking his work laptop for her Facebook fix, thinks she's done nothing wrong

It's 2023, and a lot of us are more addicted to social media, streaming services, or YouTube than we'd probably care to admit. We'll take anything and everything — all at once — as long as it saves us from having a single thought enter our head that will lead us to reflect on our own existence. The buzzing hum of constant stimulation provides us with the means necessary to fill the void left by whatever our lives used to be.

Unfortunately, despite the constant urge to check the reason behind the ding of a notification or that vibration in our front right pocket, we've still got jobs to do. We need money so that we can eat (while watching the same sitcom for the 100th time) and have a roof over the place where we rest our heads (and doom scroll social media until sweet sleep finally takes us.)

This wife felt that she was entitled to take her husband's laptop out of his work bag so that she could check her Facebook. After getting her dopamine hit, she failed to place the laptop back in its bag, landing hubby in some hot water at work.

She has now taken to Reddit to see if she was in the wrong for the events that took place… and received a resounding response condemning her actions.

'Your request cannot be granted': Employee denied PTO request because horrible boss can't plan ahead

Your boss's inability to be organized is not your problem! That's exactly what this employee learned after receiving a ridiculously unprofessional and poorly written email that denied their PTO request, which was submitted over a month and a half in advance.

This thread, which was posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit by u/carter221298, perfectly captures the signs of a toxic work environment and a poorly run company. If they cannot operate when an employee is gone for 5 days (especially when they had plenty of time to plan ahead and figure everything out beforehand), that's not only reflective of how irreplaceable the employee is but also how disorganized the company at large is. Ultimately, this means that the employee has lots of leverage, as they might have learned by reading suggestions from folks in the comments section. The response here is not to comply but to put your foot down. If you're as needed as they say you are, they can't afford to lose you.

20 Weekly Memes for the Employees Who Need a Dose of Dopamine to Make It to the Weekend

You know it's bad when you arrive to work with a frown, grumbling a hello to the secretary, turning on your computer while rubbing your eyes, and wishing you'd have called in sick. You become obsessed with the time and take breaks whenever you can. Push off tasks even though the deadline is approaching because you simply can't seem to find an eff to give anymore. Your boss is absolutely insufferable, your coworkers are exhausting, and you begin wondering what the hell were you thinking when you picked this career back in the day. Where is the white picket fence you imagined you'd have by now?

Maybe a short vacation in Atlantic city would have done it back in the day, but now even that wouldn't take you out of the predicament you're in. Perhaps the answer lies in becoming a freelancer and just working from home. At least then you'd have minimal contact with the rest of the human species. That sounds like a personal heaven if you ask me.

In the meantime, the best recipe for some serotonin is obviously memes, and that's why you're here — so let's get into them. Also, feel free to check out some terrible biological parents who get when they deserve when they think they can waltz back into their daughter's life unannounced.

We Gave An AI Robot 18 Of George Costanza's Iconic Phrases And It's Disturbing

According to The Oxford English Dictionary,  Artificial Intelligence is "the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception…". So we figured that it would be very interesting to see what happens when a tool that was built to translate the normal human mind into images deals with the person who rightfully described himself as "the opposite of every guy you've ever met."

George Costanza meets the AI tool called Midjourney, Ladies and Gentleman.

To sum up the results we would probably use another one of George's iconic quotes "I'm speechless. I have no speech". So without further yada, yada, yada here are 18 quotes we chose and the outstanding results that came from Midjourney.

'He totally ignored my questions... Sir! I am almost 30 years old!': Misogynistic wedding venue manager embarrasses himself in front of colleagues, loses customers

One woman's story of being ignored by a misogynistic wedding venue manager had commenters asking, 'Has he lost his mind?'

As a professional in the workplace, you always want to be taken seriously and respected in your line of business. For women in the workplace, just insisting that male colleagues be respectful and have normal workplace interactions can be a huge chore. One woman shared her experience on Reddit with the r/weddingshaming community, and the post clearly made waves, with numerous posters chiming in to share their own experiences with casual and blatant misogyny in the workplace. Others shared tales of men talking down to them or ignoring them in important decision making scenarios (like buying a car, as one woman shared.)

Check out this story below to facepalm hard over this guy's cringey and out-of-touch interaction with the OP. And up next, check out this incredibly satisfying tale of a locksmith who got back at an annoying customer in a way that only a locksmith can.

'And they think $7.25 an hour is a living wage': Local Florida restaurant hypocritically roasts people who take 'government handouts', while blatantly advertising their toxic work culture

Everything just hits different in Florida. Fondly known as the 'penis of America', Florida has proven that its mercurial population and DGAF approach to life can simply raw dog reality with no consequences. One local restaurant took that same Floridian spirit and has gone viral on Reddit through a post by a former patron, who shared a picture of an egregiously back-handed sign displayed in front of the business. Camellia Street Grill, a small local place in the heart of the Everglades, is obviously not happy with the rising labor problems in America and they certainly want everyone to know it. In fact, according to the toxicity implied in the sign they posted, they might even still think that that $1600 check from three years ago is still paying the bills for some people.

'It took everything in me not to yell': Needy coworker keeps asking for a ride home, becomes borderline stalker

Melanie needs to learn something about boundaries! Let's also acknowledge that her name just sounds like that of a needy, annoying coworker (sorry, I don't make the rules!). This thread was posted to Reddit's r/EntitledPeople subreddit by u/c4stoway

Our hearts go out to the original poster, who has had to put up with this mean, 'fair weather' friend. We all have that coworker who only acts like you exist when they need a favor, and here's the thing: you simply do not owe that coworker anything, especially if it's a major inconvenience. Using your 15 minute break time to drive that coworker home (which would realistically take more like 45 minutes) certainly qualifies as a major inconvenience. The fact that Melanie refused to take no for an answer and wound up waiting around for over four hours only to ask the Redditor for a ride home yet again is just borderline stalker behavior. Not only is the Redditor totally justified in saying no, but she should also talk to her supervisor and ask to be kept away from Melanie as much as possible.
