10 Pickup Lines That May Be Cringe But Mostly Worked

As someone who has never been particularly good at serving pickup lines - I'd like to think I don't give them, I get them - it is sometimes too shocking to take in the audacity people have on dating apps. But hey, many of these big swings seemed to work. Well, as far as we know. They seemed to be strong conversation starters and that's really what's most important on the apps. If you find yourself asking the basic, boring questions already, you know you're in for a basic, boring first date and it's probably worth stopping this from progressing then and there.

These top trending pickup lines were compiled from Reddit's r/tinderpickuplines subreddit. For more content like this, check out these 10 entitled people, and keep scrolling below for those pickup lines!

LinkedIn User Makes Idiotic Comparison Between His Arranged Marriage and His Unemployment

Is this satire or a genuine thought? We'll never know...

This LinkedIn post was shared via this thread on Reddit's r/LinkedInLunatics subreddit by u/Ozymate. The man in question described how his arranged marriage was finalized over the course of one meeting and how his latest job interview process lasted five months and ultimately led to rejection. He then claimed that his experiences of unemployment and marriage are "the world's 2 biggest sorrows." Wow, tone deaf much?

We are continually shocked by the number of people who use LinkedIn to air these kinds of grievances and share their bizarre, culturally backward hot takes. There's a reason why he's unemployed. Posts like this. As for his marriage, our hearts go out to this man's wife, who has to deal with him day in and day out. One has to wonder when she'll inevitably come across this very public post and what she'll have to say about it. We're hoping she leaves him.

Entitled Mother Brings Her Kids to a "No Children Allowed" Live Audio Recording, Thinks She's the Exception

"I am the exception" is the core thinking of any good entitled person's philosophy. For some reason, they think of themselves as above the din despite possessing no qualities to make them so. Of course, since they're above everyone else, the rules that others have to follow just don't apply to them.

This Karen followed that exact line of thinking when she decided that that whole "no children allowed" rule didn't apply to her and hers. She decided to bring them into a live audio recording at the local church that had specifically banned their attendance. When she was told that the kids weren't allowed in she hilariously threatened to leave… which the staff were more than happy for her to do.

Keep reading to see screenshots of the original thread, which was posted to Reddit's r/entitledparents subreddit by a since-deleted user.

'I don't consider him a member of my group': High school student removes classmate's name from group project

For all you current and former type A high school students out there, this young student truly fulfilled our fantasies…

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/yuic0re_, who opened up about a recent group project at school. It's a classic story of one person doing absolutely zero work and expecting to get the same amount of credit as the leader of the group. But this time, the slacker truly got what he deserved. After repeated attempts to see if this guy was going to contribute anything to the group's presentation, of course, he ultimately "forgot" to do his part. Are you kidding?

So, this student did what I was always too scared to actually do despite my burning desire to do it: they removed the slacker's name from the final paper. All I have to say about that is…icon. We hope this person winds up running for president one day. Weird HOA Monarchy Gets Passed Down By Succession, Ends Up in the Hands of Wild Karen

When this couple built their home on the edge of a growing metropolis, they established their own HOA to avoid being a part of a larger HOA entity. They established themselves as president and set the hilariously bizarre rule in the bylaws that the President of the HOA was to name their successor.

I feel like this HOA story has more in common with GRRM's telling of the history of the Targaryen dynasty in Fire and Blood than it reasonably should. The idea of an HOA monarchy being handed down to a named successor, only to wind up in the hands of an insatiable Karen, is something that HBO could definitely write a TV show about. The end result would not be all that dissimilar to House of the Dragon, although it would (hopefully) have less incest.

Keep your eyes moving to see screenshots of the original story as shared by u/iwantasecretgarden to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance earlier this week.
