25 Eye-Confuzzling Images Of Double Takery

Eyes are stupid, and bad at what they do. Okay sure, we can give them some credit for helping us enjoy paintings and drive to the store when we need more baby oil. But at the same time, they're constantly getting us into dumb situations, not seeing things at night that could hit our shins, and having the audacity to sting when we pour buckets and buckets of sand into them.

The other thing they do is have a hard time figuring things out when one tiny little thing is off. A duck in the foreground? Giant duck. A dog halfway behind a car? Cardog. It never ends, and we keep having to use all this time and energy to parse these things out.

It's annoying and confusing, but also exhilarating. So don't mind us if we take a peek at these freaky double take moments that made our eyes figuratively bleed.

30 People Share The Dumbest Excuses Cheaters Gave Them

Cheating on your partner is an absolutely phenomenal way to make them lose trust in you. So if that's your goal, great job. It's pretty unlikely that "I did it because I missed you" is going to make them feel any better about it, so pack up your crap and leave.

Unless your excuse is "I had to do it to save the planet" and it's backed up with concrete evidence, receipts, and a hand written "thank you for saving the planet with your sex powers" note from the president, it's probably a bad reason. And that reason is not only likely to be a dumb excuse, but also another lie. Why believe someone again after they've already proven to you that they'll jump at the chance to hurt you?

Anyway, here are some of the dumbass lines of garbage that people were expected to believe after they got cheated on.

And here are some poor souls who forgave their cheating partner.

Awesome Aunt Gets Revenge on Family Who Disowned Her By Being Awesome

When someone actively hates you, disowns you, and tells you that they don't consider you to be family, what better way is there to get revenge than to go on and be the absolute best person you can be? Well, this aunt did exactly that. She decided that awesome was what she was going to be. After years of being awesome, the family member who originally said these things to her is now bitter and angry because she now wants this aunt to be awesome for her kids too. As the poster puts it… "You reap what you sow."

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AITA (Am I the A-Hole) subreddit by the aunt, Reddit user u/PayTraditional2213. She posted the topic with the title "AITA for telling my SIL she reaped what she sowed?" to appeal to readers and see whether or not she was in the wrong for her reaction to her sister-in-law.

Twitter Thread on Saccades Explains That Human Vision Is Made Out of Lies

The more you learn about all the goofy tricks the human brain uses to deal with interpreting reality, the more it becomes obvious why we don't make computers out of meat. Foone explains that human eyes basically stop sending the brain information while they're moving, but since they're constantly moving, that brain of ours has to come up with a solution. That solution? Play around with time a little. And while that sounds like an extremely roundabout way to deal with the problem, it "works." It's happening right now, with minimal complaint from any of us.

Not only that, but our brains also mess with us when it comes to peripheral vision and blind spots, further complicating the old adage "I'll believe it when I see it." At least this thread comes with a few fun exercises to really freak ourselves out even more. It feels like the more we learn about the world, the more confusing it gets.

Gardener Constantly Harassed By City, Gets Approval From Conservation Department

When this garden owner (I'll admit they don't seem to be doing much actual gardening at all) was contacted by the local city authority and told that they needed to reign their sprawling wilderness reserve in, they instead decided to contact the local conservation group to see what they thought of it and to get any tips they might have on how they could improve their "garden."

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by the garden owner, Reddit user u/IamasimpforObi-Wan. (As a quick aside, I have noticed SO MANY accounts that have something to do with Obi-Wan over the last couple of weeks. I wonder why…) They posted this topic to the popular subreddit, well, to share their malicious compliance that they delightfully executed when they were asked to improve their gardens by the city authorities.
