Twitter Thread on Saccades Explains That Human Vision Is Made Out of Lies

The more you learn about all the goofy tricks the human brain uses to deal with interpreting reality, the more it becomes obvious why we don't make computers out of meat. Foone explains that human eyes basically stop sending the brain information while they're moving, but since they're constantly moving, that brain of ours has to come up with a solution. That solution? Play around with time a little. And while that sounds like an extremely roundabout way to deal with the problem, it "works." It's happening right now, with minimal complaint from any of us.

Not only that, but our brains also mess with us when it comes to peripheral vision and blind spots, further complicating the old adage "I'll believe it when I see it." At least this thread comes with a few fun exercises to really freak ourselves out even more. It feels like the more we learn about the world, the more confusing it gets.
