Woman Takes Back Gift After Mother-In-Law Rudely Rejects It, Gets Told That She "Ruined the Party"

The nerve of some people. If it were me... My mother-in-law would never be receiving a gift ever again after the initial incident. It's honestly baffling how someone could possibly be so entitled about something that is being given to them as a gift.

There's got to be other reasons why the husband was "unable to be present" at his mother's birthday. If I were him I'd make sure to have a scheduling conflict every year.

That in mind... It's cruel to send your wife in your place to your mother's birthday. Either you both go or no one goes.

This isn't the first we've seen of entitled in laws and one can imagine that it won't be the last.

Normal Things That People Find Super Weird At The Same Time

We live in a great big world with all of these features. And it doesn't take a whole lot of cognitive estrangement to realize that this world we live in has some very particular and off-the-wall junk that we totally take for granted. Like how your tongue is just in your mouth, like all the time. Or that a bath is like you making you-flavored soup. To really freak out the squares, here are completely legal but super weird things one can do.

Mom Confiscates Son's Gameboy as Punishment and Hides it.... For 18 Years

I feel like every family must have a story like this. If I had had it my way I would have been glued to my gameboy 24/7 when I was a wee lad. Obviously that made it a very suitable target for punishment when my grades slipped or I otherwise acted out.

Mom would take my Gameboy and hide it away in a cupboard or up on top of the fridge. I was able to reach this easily and would sneak it down for a few minutes of game time when she was distracted. The arms race evolved and Mom started hiding it in places I wouldn't guess rather than couldn't reach, as this mother did. This inevitably led to some occasions where Mom couldn't remember where she had put it. 18 years, however, is a whole new length of time.

As far as parenting goes, there's a whole lot of crazy stuff that people do. This is definitely more tame and harmless (although possibly still traumatising) than other parenting gaffs.

Florida Karen Assumes Dad Works At Grocery Store, Reality Check Ensues

Oh boy, what a wonderful tale coming right out of Florida. It sounds like this Florida Karen was just a little bit lost. So lost that she mistook what was very, very clearly a dad shopping around with his family for being a grocery store employee. All in all, it honestly sounds like a pretty humorous situation. If you want to keep the Karen drama going check out this story about a Karen mistakenly bullying a fellow customer, and then getting mocked.

Boss Demands Employee Take Part In Company Kart Race, Malicious Compliance Ensues

It sounds like this boss had all kinds of Ricky Bobby-inspired illusions of grandeur. Basically, he'd force all of his employees to pull up for this company spirit building activity, where they'd hop in some go karts and then be defeated by their boss on the track. Well, the boss definitely underestimated their new hire. It sounds like after the malicious compliance was successfully executed, that the employee got themselves off the hook for future mandatory kart race attendance.

Engineering Team Gets the Better of Their Management When They Start Enforcing "Strict Working Hours"

It's probably not a good idea to mess with a group of people who specialize in precision. Engineers tend to be pretty organized and when you bait them into putting that organization into malicious compliance you're going to regret it.

I bet their managers were rolling their eyes for every second in the minutes before and after work. As a manager how can you have a hope in heck of getting things how you wanted them when the entire team is technically complying to every letter of your demand.

My favorite type of MC is when an entire team of people band together for the greater good. Props to these guys.
