A nefarious plot by the CEO to lay off all workers at a chain electronic store triggered a rebellion by the store's manager that would send the corporate entity reeling. Is this a plot line written by George RR Martin? Or a modern retelling of Robin Hood? You be the judge!
It's no secret that CEOs and others in similar positions of unchecked power often use said power to line their coffers and fill the wallets of their closest friends and allies. It's not above them to make closed-door deals that enrich them personally or even intentionally tank the company they're supposed to be managing in order to lower its value for a nefarious hostile takeover.
The former of these is what the CEO of a "chain electronic store" tried to pull, plotting to cancel the lease of one of the stores in return for a payout from a personal brand.
When the employees of the store accidentally learned of this plot it was a free-for-all. The manager was pissed off beyond belief and made use of his discounting privileges to provide all employees with a once-in-a-lifetime shopping spree throughout the store.
The best part? When the company finally wised up, all they had to do was threaten to air the company's dirty laundry to make threats of retribution disappear.
As always, read on to see screenshots of this brilliant and oddly wholesome story. It's one of our favorites by far of this week and month. For more swan-song workplace revenge, check out this guy who took all the company's vital blueprints on his way out the door.
