20+ Reading Memes, Tweets, and Fails for Bookish Bros

If you're a reader, you know there's nothing worse than being interrupted. And if you're the partner of a reader, you know to never interrupt your partner under any circumstances. There could be an emergency. The smoke alarm could be going off. Your building could be falling down, but if your partner is not finished with their current chapter, you are just going to have to let everything around you crumble. Now, for those of you who identify as readers, you know that sometimes you can get so emotionally involved in whatever you're reading that when you're finished, you have to deal with this strange re-adjustment period where you realize that what you just went through was an isolated experience. Meanwhile, the rest of the world just moves forward and simply doesn't care. So, if you have identified with this experience, keep scrolling below for these memes, tweets, and fails. 'He was angry and upset because I didn’t say thank you': Woman gets cursed out and threatened by entitled boomer at work

The number of people in this world who expect graciousness after they are already being hostile is absurd! We know that what happened to this woman is not a singular experience. There are people in this world who are just ready to find an excuse to cuss someone out. In this case, the entitled dude in question happened to be a boomer who was dropping off this employee's mail. She posted her story to this thread on Reddit's r/EntitledPeople subreddit.

Fun asterisk! The Redditor got dragged by a few commenters for referring to the guy as a boomer and acknowledged this mistake in an edit to the original post. I cannot deny that this edit made us chuckle ever so slightly. We know that not all boomers are entitled nor should this one guy be used to represent an entire generation. That being said, y'all can't have it both ways. In fact, it's the millennials who are often summarized as entitled and sensitive. That doesn't seem to be the case here!

'She seems more focused on mundane little things': Longtime Service Industry Employee Likes New Boss, But Not Her Management Style, Asks for Advice on How to Tell Her

It's rare these days to get a manager that you actually like. Usually, boomers are in the upper management and they think the world revolves around them and/or around a toxic management style. The whole "eat or be eaten" mentality that spirals many managers into treating their employees like crap—especially in the service industry! Why does that industry attract a certain type of toxic management style, who knows?!

On longtime service industry employee recently got a new manager and they love her! She has been nothing but super nice to everyone and you can tell she is trying her hardest. However, as an employee who has been there a long time, they can tell that she isn't really making a difference—and is, in fact, kind of making the hard more difficult. She is removing processes that helped the employees during their shifts and she is implementing other processes that just add more work for the employees and not much else.

The employee likes her, so they don't know how to approach the situation. They turn to Reddit for help asking what they should do. Should they just wait it out and see if she figures it out on her own or is this something that needs to be dealt with head on?

'We tried everything and nobody did anything' : Woman Breaks Lease at NYC Apartment After Toxic Landlord and City Officials Ignore Constant Fire Hazard Complaints, Unit Burns Down Only a Month Later

When renting or even owning property on of the biggest nightmares is a fire. That is why there are fire safety laws, especially in renting property for everyone's safety. However, in big cities, such as New York, it is easy to fly under the radar and get away with fire hazards. It doesn't seem like a big deal in the moment if there is a couple of bikes blocking the fire exit, or the smoke detecter doesn't work, but if an emergency happens those things become big problems. So as a tenant, for your safety and the safety of everyone else in the building, it is important to report fire hazards (or clear them up yourself if possible) when you see them.

That is exactly what the tenants of this NYC apartment building had been doing for months to no avail. One of the tenants seemed to be running some shady things in his apartment. The main concern, however, were the many e-bikes they had piled up in the hallway outside of their apartment. E-bike batteries, especially off-market brands, are prone to catching fire very often. It has been a huge problem in the e-bike industry and that is why they have rules surrounding them.

So the tenants reported this obvious fire hazard over and over again. Not only to the super, but to the landlord, the police and fire department, and even city officials. One summons was sent, but no further action was ever taken. One woman named Claire decided enough was enough and she didn't want to put her life at risk, so she moved out in early January. About a month later, the place indeed catches on fire and she posts about it on her TikTok.

She rightfully is frustrated and upset because she and the other tenants did everything they could to try and prevent this fire from happening, but they were met with no help. Now the entire 5th floor has been turned to ashes and she is wondering what actions she should next. Viewers leave comments applauding her for following her guts and doing everything she could and also giving her legal advice for what to do next.

'That thing was HOT': Guy keeps requesting for his dish to be extra spicy, chef maliciously complies

This guy barely lived to tell the tale after being served the spiciest dish of his life! He did ask for it, though. Quite literally. He shared his story via this thread on Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit. Thankfully, there doesn't seem to be any beef between the Redditor and the kitchen staff.

Still, the lesson to be learned here is clearly to know your limits when it comes to spicy food. Personally, I have always felt that there is a bizarre correlation between toxic masculinity and one's preference for spiciness. You have to occasionally question why someone wants to order the spiciest thing on the planet. Is it just to prove some point or to flaunt your tolerance? No one cares, dude! I mean, at a certain point, you're not even enjoying the actual taste because your tongue is literally numb.
