30 Fresh Design Fails and Things That People Didn't Quite Get Right (March 24, 2023)

Whenever you're presented with a problem, you have three options:

  1. Research the tried and true solution
  2. Hire or ask someone who has the correct experience.
  3. Improvise.

It's always tempting to go for the third option, and you might find yourself going this route more often than you care to admit. Sometimes this will work out for you… sometimes your creation will end up in a collection of images like this one. But—hey, there's no harm in trying!

These individuals gave it their best shot and in a lot of instances, came up with an entirely workable solution, but that doesn't mean they did everything entirely correctly.

This collection of images is made up of classic design fail images as well a selection of fresh posts made to a popular Facebook group, 'If ya squint it's mint,' where contributors share interesting solutions, creations, and designs they have witnessed out in the wild.

'I bought a pizza so I could talk to the delivery guy': 15+ Cringe Pizza Delivery Fails

Why does it feel like there's nothing more anxiety-inducing than navigating my interaction with the pizza delivery guy? As it turns out, I can be a fully grown adult with a full-time job and plenty of responsibilities, but I still can't wrap my brain around what to say to the dude in the Dominos cap when he knocks on my door.

For starters, there's the impulse to apologize for making him deliver my pizza. Then there's the impulse to pretend like there's someone else home so it doesn't look like I just ordered 3 large pizzas for myself. Then, there's the unplanned conversation that completely ruins the script I prepared in my mind. For instance, I might just be expecting him to say "Have a good night," to which I have prepared my "You too!" response. But what if he says "Enjoy your pizza!" and then I accidentally still say "You too." See what I mean? Navigating these interactions is harder than it seems. Keep scrolling for these pizza delivery fails.

‘Welcome to the Loonies Playground’ : Top Tone-Deaf LinkedIn Lunatics

LinkedIn is a social media platform where contestants go to compete over who leads a more privileged, happy life. In other words, who can be the most tone-deaf? From celebrities to CEOs, your jaw is bound to drop at one point or another while scrolling, as you sift through the entitled mess. How do people live with their own stupidity? It seems as though there are different planes of reality, and we don't all live on the same one. If that were the case, the captions of posts would not be so staggeringly phony and/or ignorant.

It's the Instagram for grown-ups, a platform where insecure people get to show off, bragging about their own semi-miserable existence so that they feel a little less bad every time they pass a mirror. Of course there are some advantages to having a LinkedIn account, such as expanding your social network, looking for a job, developing your career, etc. But sometimes I wonder if the cons outway the pros. You be the judge…

AITA: 'He found out when he was served an eviction notice': Immature brother expects family freebies after avoiding paying rent to his brother for months, older sibling sells the house in retaliation, family drama ensues

There's a reason that people wear stupid masks to cover their identity when they accept lottery winnings on public broadcast. It's simple– they don't want their family knowing that they're overnight billionaires. For some reason, people think that they're entitled to a portion of any family member's financial success just because you're related. One man found out the hard way just how far his brother was willing to push him to get 'his share' of family freebies, forcing him to teach his sibling a brutal life lesson.

After allowing his brother and their family to live in one of his rental properties, the older brother started to sense that things might go sour. The younger brother, at first, was determined to improve the property, buying things for the house and then "taking the buyers fee" out of his monthly rent. The older brother never asked for these changes to be made to the house so he simply asked him for the full rent amount and to leave any renovations to him, the property owner.

That's when the scamming started.

The younger brother started to run out of money and kept pushing off rent payments, begging his brother for an extension and never following through. Finally, the older brother got fed up covering the costs himself and letting his brother take advantage of him. He listed the house to sell and his brother was sent an official eviction notice. Ouch.

Fuming, the financially irresponsible brother called him saying that he should have offered it to them to buy, but the older brother was wondering what kind of money he had stashed away to buy a house when he didn't even have enough to make rent? The younger brother went on a revenge spree, bad mouthing the older brother to the entire family. The older brother gave the family members their own chance to cover the cost of his brother's debt and nobody stepped up. As it turns out, when you give family an inch on money matters, they'll take a whole mile.

'Ma'am these knives are high-end...': Customer gets sharp revenge on rude store clerk when he makes an incorrect assumption about her knife knowledge

A hasty and rude retail worker quickly corrected this woman when she pointed out a pricing error on a chef's knife she was interested in. She relented in revealing the mistake to the worker and ended up with a deal on a great knife.

This story was shared to the r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/TIL_eulenspiegel, the woman in the story, where it earned 19k upvotes as of the writing of this post.

When she went to the department store, she was greeted by an "older man" who was extremely helpful. But by the time she had made her selection, he had gone on break and been replaced by a "young rover from another department."

When she approached the counter with her selection, the knife rang up as $40, which she was certain was incorrect. When she attempted to correct the error, the youngster interrupted her. Upon inspection of the label, it was clear to the OP that the knife had been labeled incorrectly. The label described a six-inch sandwich knife when it was clearly an eight-inch chef's knife.

In this case, things worked in u/TIL_eulenspiegel's favor. She gave up on correcting the young man and ended up with a hell of a deal on a knife. Sounds like a win to us!
