Being someone's boss might give you more clout at a company, but it doesn't make you more of a person than them. In every industry, people seem to have a really hard time understanding that concept.
This tale is another one of those times that someone with bigger shoes thinks that the can be an ass to someone lower in the work hierarchy. Except instead of the higher-up getting fired or inconvenienced, some actual good came of it. If not for this receptionist's quick thinking, this whole story could have played out a lot differently. Maybe this is a reminder that the point of having a workplace is so that everyone should work as a team to help each other do a better job. Maybe.
