The immediate family wasn't so pleased that OP stated the obvious, and honestly OP may very well be on thin ice. The topics were posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit over the last few days by the user u/Anony19087, with the success of the initial post titled "$6 Per Week" prompting them to post the second topic titled "$15 per minute." We love the related titles and themes between the two stories, with the first telling how u/Anony19087 complied with the shipyard's demands when they were too cheap to pay the "Own Tool" fee and the second sharing how they landed themselves in a situation of long-term compliance that saw them earning up to $900/hr.

Jaden Smith Roasted, When He Tweets "That's How We Do It" in Response to Father Will Smith's Violent Outburst

As the Will Smith saga continues to unfold, everyone is determined to throw their hat into the ring, including Will Smith's son Jaden. Now, Jaden has a history of saying and doing some insane stuff that has repeatedly put him on the sharp end of the Internet's roasting stick. We were all playing the "wtf did Jaden do this week" game for a while there, and Twitter had him constantly on blast. 

In 2017 his "Batman" single and music video made desperate attempts to follow in his sister Willow's footsteps. People, at best, referred to the song as a "guilty pleasure." Nonetheless, his parent's money, antics, and stupid white Batman suit were enough to buoy him up to nearly 16M views on that terrible track. 

I'll admit that I've done everything I can to push the Pinkett Smiths out of my mind in recent memory. The family's insane dynamic, beliefs, and ethics make me repeatedly wonder why they're still allowed to be in the spotlight. Worst of all, now the Fresh Prince of Stale Acting has an Oscar under his belt when everyone else in the category deserved it over him. Ok, I haven't seen Bardem in Being the Ricardos, but the performances from Denzel Washington in Macbeth, Cumberbatch in Power of the Dog, and Andrew Garfield in tick, tick…BOOM! were all master classes in acting. I'd argue that they were some of the strongest candidates in the category in recent memory. Meanwhile, Will Smith is always Will Smith dressed in different clothing.

The guy punches your presenter in the face, you let him go back to his seat, and then gift him one of the most prestigious awards in acting… When there were so many other deserving actors in the category. Just give it to whoever was your runner-up. 

Could the Oscars be any more off the mark?

I don't think we need to go more into the incident since everyone will know the story by now. So we'll leave that there. But, subsequently and predictably, the Pinkett Smiths continue to be the Pinkett Smiths and ol' mate Jaden has to chime in with his two cents regarding daddy's actions. 

And, of course, the comment is precisely the one you would expect from someone who grew up in a fantasy land and has a raging pseudo-messiah complex.

Insane Tattoo Artist Brands Client With Their Initials, Can't Believe Client Is Upset

It's hard to imagine literally branding another human being and thinking that is ok but that is exactly what happened when this riled client made an unfortunate choice in a tattoo artist.

This story was posted to Reddit's r/AmItheAsshole subreddit by u/TattoodNoobAITA (OP), the tattooed individual in question.

The tattoo was to be a sentimental 'heirloom' type of piece as it was a tattoo that had been received by three generations of the men in OP's family. So it was essential that the piece look exactly like the others. OP brought a photo with him when he went to get it done, it was not to be an original or derivative work.

That's important here because the only supporting argument that could be made for the artist's actions that followed would be that she was an artist who wanted to sign her work. That, in and of itself, is an argument that a good number of us could understand. It is only natural for an artist to want to claim credit for their creation. 

But there is a line here. The sheer number of tattoo artists who responded in the comments support this. It is never ok to leave your mark on another human being (without their consent). This is, apparently, a code within the tattoo artist community. 

The other problem with this is that it wasn't even an original piece and it was important that it be identical to his ancestor's. So why sign it at all?

The simple fact of the matter is that branding another human being is a bit twisted and gets worse the more you think about it.

An employee received a text from their boss last Thursday asking them to come in to cover a shift for their coworker. When the employee responded that they could not come in because they were studying for an exam, the boss answered that they were "expected to be available for tonight's shift." Things escalated to the boss saying they were "disappointed," and the employee decided it was time to walk away

The employee nailed it on the head; what a downright demanding individual. But we're starting to see so many posts like this it makes you wonder… just how prevalent is this?

This post was posted to the r/antiwork subreddit by Redditor u/Hoodtho after the incident last week. It was published with the title "Happened on Tuesday but [middle finger emoji] this idiot" and has hit the top of the subreddit with 21k upvotes. 

Workers have been supportive and noted their thoughts on the topic. u/ItzYaBoiQuez noted that "Work likes to think it's your parent." which seemed to be something that many commenters could relate to. The comment has since garnered 3.3k upvotes.

In this story, two family members (it's complicated) came to metaphorical blows after the passing of their connecting loved one. It's an almost biblical tale of revenge as this step-son decided to take an eye for an eye after his "hag" of a stepmom took his Playstation out of his own home and gave it away.

This story was posted to the r/ProRevenge subreddit by u/YoungSourSwede (OP), the narrator and step-son in the story. He had tragically lost his mother to ovarian cancer five years before the events of this story took place. His father then remarried to Grace. u/YoungSourSwede was skeptical of her from the start. Luckily, when his father passed a year after the couple was married, he left the house to his son.

Grace was less than thrilled and, despite her making some inappropriate moves, the OP allowed her to stay on. Until she gave away his Playstation, that is.

George Pointon is a teacher and Twitter personality who, in his words, is "exploiting children's imagination for likes." At least he's being honest. In this escapade, he asked kids what they think makes a good person. Most of them had pretty straightforward answers that any regular adult would say. Some were a little more short-sighted. Maybe what's startling here is the percentage of kids these days who could still be duped by candy and a puppy. But at the same time, we all know a lot of adults who would get tricked by that too.

The pursuit of knowledge is a noble one. At the same time, it probably doesn't help a whole lot to be able to describe exactly where cashews come from, or what elephants really think of mice. But at least it's amusing to know things, however trivial they may be. Many of us have done a great job tricking other people into thinking we ourselves are smart just because we know one or two things about the chocolate harvesting process. He ran into his ex-girlfriend from University on a flight and recognized her before she realized who he was. They were seated next to one another, and once he confirmed who she was when she removed her mask momentarily, he engaged her in conversation. 

Unbeknownst to him, the man seated next to her on the other side was her, now, husband. Things were pleasant until the Ex introduced u/throwawaysnapchat_ra as a "friend" from Uni, and the husband asked what his wife was like in Uni. 

When u/throwawaysnapchat_ra replied with a thinly-veiled insult, things got real awkward quickly. The Ex told her husband, "He's that jerk I cut contact with." The couple swapped seats, and the husband shot daggers at him for the rest of the flight. 

u/throwawaysnapchat_ra posted the thread wondering if what he did was wrong and has been obliterated in the comments. He had to make an edit asking people to stop sending him Direct Messages as he has gotten the point that he was wrong.

What the heck just happened?

So, let's get this straight… You can get up on stage at the Oscars and attack a presenter live on television, and there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that security is going to do to stop you? You are then free to return to your seat while the person you just attacked has to fumble through the rest of their presentation awkwardly. You have got to be kidding me. 

The show should have been stopped, and Will Smith should have been removed from the building. Please tell me I'm not the only one thinking that here. 

Instead, he was gifted one of the most prestigious awards an actor can receive mere moments later. There is no way that he will be allowed to keep that once Chris Rock files for assault.

It was so unbelievable that something like that initial smack could happen that I admit I initially thought it was scripted. The lack of reaction from the production team made it seem like it had to be planned. It wasn't until Will returned to his seat that you started to wonder what the heck was happening. 

His angry yell cutting through and awkward silence of a hall that had been, moments before, filled with fanfare has got to be one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen on television.

Sure, Chris's joke was in abysmal taste but if we can attack comedians now for saying something that we don't like, what sort of message is that sending? There needs to be serious repercussions for this type of behavior. Being Will Smith should not excuse you. 

The Oscars are back in a big way, but for all the wrong reasons. We are going to be talking about this for a long time and Twitter has been going absolutely nuts since the incident occurred.

Life is full of surprises.

You might live your life thinking to yourself "there's no way that anyone would be selfish and petty enough to leave a one star review for a restaurant because they arrived 5 minutes after closing time and had to be turned away. In no world would anybody be so delusional as to think that the staff of a Jack In The Box owes it to them to stay at work after closing just so that they can get a burger." You would be invariably wrong. There are people like that absolutely everywhere. You might even know a few. You might even be one. And if you are that type of person, please know that the rest of us hate your guts.

But if you're not the kind of person who thinks that they should get to keep their neighbor's lawnmower because they "just want it more," then you might get be intrigued by a glimpse into the lives of people who seem to think that the people around them are just squishy mannequins who tell them "no." Feel entitled to view these bold shenanigans of entitled people.

As a rule of thumb, if you're interested in having children, you should be prepared for the possibility that at some point, you're gonna get covered "baby product." Which leads us to this lady's "solution" which was to ask someone else to change her kid's diaper for her as if they were her personal employee. It leads to the question, who is the true baby here? The internet went to bat for this person's right to not have to change a customer's kid's diapers off the clock just because this parent is afraid of doing the bare minimum of caring for her own child.

"Nice Guy" Gets Roasted For Harassing Woman With Cringey Messages

After receiving harassment from this cringey "Nice Guy," a woman has posted the messages online where they have become a trending topic on Reddit.

Redditor u/Living_Swing9680 posted the images in this threadafter she became the target of persistent attention from an acquaintance. 

The guy starts with some textbook "negging" before attempting to make his move; by the time u/Living_Swing9680 has given her second reply, it's already evident that she is over it. 

The Nice Guy responds, "I see you broke up with [ex-boyfriend]," indicating a significant degree of personal familiarity and cueing us that this is, unfortunately, someone she knows and not just a Tinder match. 

He responds that he is sorry for what her ex-boyfriend did before setting up his demands. 

There are so many red flags from this guy. From the rehearsed "Pickup Artist" strategies to his complete inability to take "No." for an answer. 

Guys. Don't treat women like this. No matter what you might have heard otherwise, this "Pickup Artist" bull is dangerous and plain creepy.

Power-Tripping Boss Reminds Employee She Can Quit Any Time, She Does

There are a lot of reasons to stay employed. For one thing, being warm and dry while getting to eat food is pretty sweet. Managers know how much people like not starving, and sometimes they'll leverage that fact and scare their employees instead of properly managing them.

This person had just such a boss, who took great joy in the fact in telling her that she could fire her at any time. Surprisingly, this isn't a very effective way to hold onto staff in the long run. Who knew? It should also be noted that treating people this way gives them good cause to consider making a "screw it, I'll deal with it later" kind of decision.

The thing about at-will agreements is that they work both ways, so this employee was well aware that she could quit at any time she liked. So when the time was right, she took advantage of the agreement her boss seemed so keen on referencing.

Woman's Boyfriend Can't Control His Entitled Daughter When They Invite Themselves On Her Holiday, She Leaves Them At a Car Rental and Tells Them to Find Their Way Home

After her boyfriend invited himself and his brat daughter on this mother's holiday with her sons, they could not have been on worse behavior. After putting up with the daughter's entitled behavior for most of the trip, the mother snapped and sent them packing, leaving them at a car rental agency and telling them to find their way home.

The altercation between the couple occurred after a series of infuriating events enabled by the boyfriend, Dave, a 44-year-old male and perpetrated by his 17-year-old daughter. His girlfriend, a 27-year-old woman, and the boys' mother, u/719917710, posted the topic to the r/AmItheAsshole subreddit to get outsider's opinions on whether or not she was in the wrong.

The road trip was supposed to be a chance for the mother to get some time alone with her sons, doing the things they had always wanted to do together but had not been able to. 

"I booked a road trip for me and my sons roughly 3 months ago." explains u/719917710, "A road trip consisting of roughly 26 hours worth of driving with stops in between. This is the first time I've ever been financially able to do much of anything with my children so I went all out. Planned to stop at every place they had ever asked me to go, basically. I was beyond excited to surprise them with this trip."

Things started to get complicated when Dave invited himself and his teenage daughter along.

"A week before leaving my [boyfriend] Dave decides he wants to go with me and bring Ann as a "bonding" experience. We do not live together and Ann has never liked me because I'm "boring". She has said this to my face. So Dave thinks it will be good. I didn't really want either of them to go but thought what the hell, why not."

The reasons "why not" would soon emerge when the daughter was repeatedly offended at the very presence of the young boys and their mother. Her entitled behavior was unrestrained by her father. Tension and temper began to rise as the trip approached its pivotal moment.

It's hard to call, but our stance is that this is leaning away from being an "NTA" (Not the Asshole) and more of an "ESH" (Everybody Sucks Here). Obviously, the boyfriend and his daughter are absolute assholes here and deserved almost every bit of this. But the mother had plenty of opportunities to say "No." to them coming on the trip and her reaction was an emotional one that put them in the precarious situation of getting home from out of state. So it's hard for us to let her off the hook.

That being said, commenters were resoundingly supportive of her actions and overwhelmingly proclaimed her "NTA".

Guy Sexually Harasses Female Coworker With Inappropriate Texts, She Responds Via Work Email With the Messages Attached

When a coworker targeted this woman with unsolicited texts and harassment, she devised a clever plan to bring him into the light. 

The thread was posted to the r/AmItheAsshole subreddit this week by the aptly named u/businessbittch with the title "AITA for replying to a coworker's inappropriate texts by work email, and attaching them?"

It's hard to imagine a situation where you could be "the asshole" for deftly handling a coworker's inappropriate behavior. Still, her posting of the topic was fortunate as she received some sound advice. 

Commenters were quick to offer their admiration for how she handled the situation. "May I say, you have brass ovaries, and I admire them," said Jetztinberlin

Others urged her to take the issue to the Human Resources department and "get ahead of" the problem. "Go to HR immediately. NTA." replied user MurielFinster. To which u/businessbittch responded, "I was thinking I'd wait to see if he would chill... But honestly, with him coming by to bother me in person, that's not a bad idea."

Sometimes an inappropriate action deserves the appropriate response; it's the simple laws of cause and effect acting out their parts. This is how it was when u/elena247's coworker decided to execute the clever ploy of bringing their dirty dishes into work to have others wash them. When u/elena247 discovered what their coworker was up to, they decided the appropriate response was to introduce the dirty dishes to the trash can. Sounds like a reasonable plan to us.

This topic was posted to the r/pettyrevenge subreddit, where it got 7.8k upvotes. Commenters overwhelmingly supported u/elena247's actions who explained the situation a little more in the post. 

"I'm a server and we do have a dishwasher on certain days but oftentimes if it's slow the dishwasher won't come in and it's up to the servers to wash the dishes from service," u/elena247 explains. When this customer bought a used 2014 Mazda 5 from a dealership, the last thing he was expecting was for the car to stop running less than a month later. When the poster began having troubles with his vehicle, he organized for the repair to be covered by the dealership, but he could not get a hold of anyone when the bill came through. 

After finally getting a hold of and explaining his frustration to the Supervisor of the dealership, the Supervisor interjected with some choice words. Words that he would live to regret. "He cuts me off and says, 'What, are you going to take us to court over $296.47? I don't think so, but go ahead and sue. We will win, and if that small amount is worth suing to you, you probably don't have the resources to actually sue.'"

Another r/antiwork post has been rocking the foundations of the internet over the last 24 hours. This post titled "Women should be given PTO for heavy periods. Do you agree?"

The topic was posted to r/antiwork by u/CallMeWolfYouTuber, which sparked the online debate. At the time of this writing, the post has earned 23k upvotes.

In the post, u/CallMeWolfYouTuber explains her stance, "I feel like women people with a uterus should be given PTO for heavy and/or especially painful periods. It's so painful sometimes, and it feels like all of the energy has been sapped from your body."

The argument for menstrual leave has been hotly debated on the internet for several years with the topic being featured on Fortune and Time within the last few months. The support for the movement has been gaining momentum over the previous few years, which is enormous strides considering Maternal Leave was being contested in the United States less than 30 years ago.₁

But what defines a "heavy period"? Is that something that we want to leave a private company to decide? This is one of the things pointed out by commenters of the thread. 

"I think you want a generic PTO policy - last thing you need is some idiot in HR verifying your claim." replied user reddogrjw.

It stands to reason that a more comprehensive, overarching PTO policy regulation would be the right answer. Providing an employer with too much medical history can only be disadvantageous and explicit policies for specific conditions only erodes your right and ability to maintain Medical Privacy from your employer.

Workplace Fairness describes this right as follows. 

"As an employee, there are just some things that an employer does not need to know. For example, that one time you broke your arm bike riding in college, or that time you had your blood drawn to test for pregnancy. While this information may seem irrelevant and, at times, highly sensitive, your employer may have access to such information. Some employers can even require you to take medical tests or inquire about your medical history"

Less supportive commenters adopted a "suck it up" mentality. "This is the most stupidest shit I've read. Why should women get special privileges for being a woman lol. You should just get pto when needed." remarked PersimmonRecent4732.

"I don't even give my woman a day off sex when she has heavy flow." commented another user, receiving a flood of downvotes on their comment.

u/Billiam201explains that he tried to contact the business and resolve the issue but was met with a rude reaction from the person who turned out to be the business's owner, "Fred". After some conversations with the business's staff about how cheap the owner was, he realized he was dealing with an extremely unreasonable individual who was not going to do the right thing. So this guy was all like, "Look at me, I am the Captain Business Owner now."

Taking matters into his own hands would prove to be an effective strategy and, after several nuclear reactions from deceived customers who thought their orders were being handled by the fake "Fred", he got his wish.
