Update: Kitchen Drama, Conflict and Owner Abuse Leads to Resignation of FOH Lead and Chef

This chef shared the conflict in their restaurant that led to the resignation of the FOH lead and then the chef themselves. They shared their own resignation in a second "update" thread where they discussed that the conflict between them and the FOH lead, who had quit in the previous post, had put them in the owner's crosshairs. After a tense discussion between the two, the chef quit too.

This thread was posted in two parts to the r/KitchenConfidential subreddit by Reddit user u/PhoonTFDB, who shared their experiences in this kitchen. Often kitchen staff will take to this small subreddit to share these types of stories, hence the name "kitchen confidential."

It doesn't really sound like there is a victim in this thread; everyone kinda sounds like a bunch of a-holes duking it out to see who can be the biggest a-hole. But, from what I've heard, some kitchens are just like this, with everyone constantly battling it out to see who can be the top dog.

No matter who is in the wrong here this is clear: This is a toxic workplace. Regardless of who is purveying or causing this culture, that remains a fact.

Commenters had this to say about the thread

"'Don't talk back to me or I'll violate labor laws at you.' Is one of the most hilarious self-owns I've heard in a while." remarked user Saxong about the boss's challenge to the chef.

"Yeah sounds like everyone including you [is] an a-hole here," said user AuWolf19. To which the original poster commented and agreed.

College Student Encouraged By Reddit To Ghost His Bad Manager

Reddit can be an excellent source for anonymous venting, yet this story proves that it can also be used to make productive life decisions, like ghosting your job when your manager treats you like you're less than human.

This thread was posted by Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit by user u/American_Psycho34, a full-time college student who requested time off from their gig as a hotel bartender over a month in advance of their first week of classes that semester. When that week finally came around, the student's request was completely ignored by his manager.

According to the Redditor, this manager from Hell claimed that because the student was scheduled for work that week, it was on the student to sort out his shift schedule. The manager refused to discuss the matter further and said he would see the student that Monday.

That's when u/American_Psycho34 turned to Reddit for some advice, and after going through the feedback, he decided to ghost his manager without any notice. Considering that his boss was unwilling to empathize with the Redditor's need to balance work and school, the student owed nothing to his manager in return.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, approximately 40% of full-time undergraduate students were employed in 2020. If nearly half of college students are working jobs on the side, managers need to be willing to empathize with their employees and their school commitments.

We've seen other stories like this in recent months. Such as this manager who wouldn't approve an employee's overtime.

When They Say We're Returning To The Office For The Culture, What Does That Actually Mean?

Let's be honest to each other about what office culture actually is.

Funniest Memes About Dating App Fails We Saw This Week

Does anybody else have the experience of swiping on a dating app, and suddenly forgetting that this is not a game? We grew up playing silly single-player games on our phones, and now suddenly these are real people not just pictures or characters. There's no coin prize, and the goal is to get off of the app. Something about that just seems so confusing. But maybe that's not a universal experience, maybe  The majority of people have all adjusted and then some of us just don't belong on the apps.
It seems almost silly that people still have such aversion to the apps when it clearly works for so many couples, but there are still definitely a bunch of peculiar characters to be found basically every time you enter them, so if you have the patience it'll definitely be worth your while, but also if you just want to laugh it's probably also definitely worth your while.
So whatever you're going on the apps is, we're sure you will be entertained by these memes.

Insane Karen Leaves Scathing 1-Star Review After Being Kicked Out of a Bar For Giving Her Underaged Daughter Alcohol

This Karen left a scathing 1-star review after being kicked out of a bar for giving her underaged daughter a sip of her alcoholic beverage. Now, she is getting roasted in the Reddit subreddit r/F#ckyoukaren; you can probably guess how these readers feel about entitled Karen behavior.

The thread was posted to the smaller sub by Reddit user, u/TheDuck00, who shared screenshots of the review to the popular subreddit with the title "What do you mean my underaged daughter can't have alcohol?" in a mocking impression of what the entitled Karen must have been thinking as she wrote the review.

We've all seen these types of entitled people out and about in the world who think that the rules just don't apply to them. These people believe that it's ok to jump the line in a queue or drive down the shoulder of the highway to dodge traffic. We'd all be better off if these people would just up and disappear.

The reality of this situation is that, as commenters have pointed out, the bartender would lose their job if they allowed this behavior and "served alcohol" to a minor. Stings conducted by alcohol and liquor boards and licensing departments are a real threat in many jurisdictions; losing a liquor license means losing your business.

Readers had the following to say in the comments.

"The weirdest part of it is that they actually informed the bartender that the daughter was under 21 by asking about the rules," remarked user Hamblerger. "If they hadn't done that, then there's at least a possibility that this would have been ignored. As the bartender knew that she was underage, though, and had informed them that she couldn't drink, he had an absolute obligation to do what he did."

"For all he knew, they worked for the State licensing department, and his employer was going to get closed down, and he'd likely get fired," replied user Ok_Cauliflower_3007.

BFF's Trash-Talk Texting Mishap Results in Cancelled Bachelorette Party

When this bride-to-be accidentally sent a trash-talking text to her supposed best friend, her friend decided to exact revenge by canceling the party she had paid for. She phoned the hotel where she had booked the room and canceled it. All she had to do now was wait…

When the weekend of the bachelorette party arrived, the bride was in for a rude awakening; The party arrived to check in to their room to find that it was nonexistent.

This thread was posted on Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit by Reddit user u/dancing_elephant0903, the friend scorned by her bad-mouthing bestie. She shared her story to the popular revenge with the title "BFF sent the wrong text and ruined her bachelorette party."

Readers condemned the bride's behavior in the comments and discussed the reasons people act like this in the comments. Worth noting that the original poster was very active in the comments of this thread and offered multiple responses that provided more context surrounding the story.

"It's always mind-boggling to me that people pretend to be friends with people they don't like," remarked user SahjoBai "Why not just not hang out with someone if you think they're annoying? She was a user and deserved it. I don't even feel bad for her friends…"

"Some people need to degrade others so they can feel better about themselves," said Frolicking-Fox. "Although, someone like this probably just talks about all her friends behind their back."

"I think you nailed it," replied the original poster of the thread to these two users. "I should've known because she would say things to me about her other friends. I was in my 20s and naive. Learned a very valuable lesson."

Guy Avoids Running Into Ex While On Vacation, Only To Be Stuck Together On The Same Flight Home

A 20-year-old man got stuck on the same flight home with his ex-girlfriend after avoiding her while they were both on vacation in Paris. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmItheA**hole subreddit by user u/Backup_276367383, who recounted his tale of a vacation gone wrong following a tough breakup.

The Redditor had saved his money to go on a month-plus long vacation in Europe, only to discover a few months prior that he and his ex would overlap in Paris on their respective trips. They made loose plans to grab drinks. You know, the kinds of plans you make when you run into a former co-worker on the street and say "we should get coffee sometime" before never exchanging any follow-up messages.

Well, by the time the Redditor arrived in Paris, he was hanging out with friends in a place with minimal service. Of course, when he checked his phone a couple of days later, he was bombarded with missed texts and calls from his ex, asking if he wanted to make plans and grab drinks. Out of fear, the man decided to ignore her messages because he "didn't want to deal with her getting angry and making me feel guilty like she did when we were dating."

Of course, matters were made worse when the two wound up on the same flight home. They shared an uncomfortable moment at the gate, in which the ex-girlfriend expressed that she could have been in serious trouble while he was ghosting her. However, as the Redditor explained, she wasn't in trouble. She just wanted to get drinks, and he clearly wasn't ready for that. Thankfully, they weren't seated next to one another on the plane.

We've seen other stories about tumultuous breakups in recent months. For instance, this woman shared her story about getting her ex-boyfriend arrested after he stole $14K.

Viral Thread: Worker Quits on Second Day After Lies From Interview Are Exposed

This restoration apprentice reported that he left their new role on the second day after discovering the employer had lied about the working hours during the interview process. He shared his experience on the popular r/antiwork subreddit, where it got viral views.

The thread was shared by Reddit user u/ButtKylerJr, who titled his post, "I quit on the second day because I was lied to at my interview." He goes on to explain that family time is incredibly important to him, and while he was interviewing for a role as a restoration apprentice, he was promised that "[They] would be working from 7:30 to 4:00 (4:30 at the latest)." This was revealed to be a complete fabrication when, on his first day, he was required to work until past 6:30 pm.

Not only did this make him late home, but it also made his wife late for her job.

When he returned to work the next day he was criticized in front of the entire team for the way that he left the previous evening, that was the final straw and enough for him to walk away.

Readers had the following to say in the comments.

"Not fired but berated in public?" remarked mkbloodyen. "Sounds like they are hurting for staff."

"Having worked with a couple of these restoration companies, I have to say, I have never seen a decent one, ever," said JustAbicuspidRoot. "Each time I have had one come into my home, I had to threaten to sue them and then rip them apart on all online review services just to get them to finish the job in a timely manner. In short, these predators will come into your home, block the entire thing off while they bilk your insurance company for months on a job which should take no more than a week."

"You nailed it," replied the original poster. "There were 3 of us on the board up. They finally sent another person after the 1st hour. One was standing around not doing much. The other was moving nice and slow, bilking away. Then there was me. Busting my ass moving as fast as possible trying to get home."

Server Goes Viral for Story of Getting Stiffed a Tip from a Party of 60 People, Commenters Defending the Non-Tippers are Getting Put in Their Place

A word of caution, if you ever worked in the service industry, then this is going to really upset you. If you're trying to not feel like punching through your screen, maybe skip this?… TikToker @user729192738 is a young girl serving at a bar restaurant. The place does not have any sort of auto gratuity for large parties, and she says that's mostly due to the format of the setup—it's more like a bar, with bar games, etc., than a restaurant, so many people have their own checks, etc. So it's difficult to figure out large party's gratuity. Everyone who has worked in the service industry knows that's some serious BS, but let's get into her story.

She came into work one day, a 7-hour shift, and was told she would be serving a party of 60 people. Since it was just her waiting on 60 people, that was the only table she had. They stayed for her entire shift and she was excited to see how much money in tips she made after working so hard. To her utter disbelief and shock, nobody left a tip—not even a couple dollars on the table. Every server knows that feeling of seeing no tip and the wind just gets knocked out of you. You basically just worked for free and some might even have to PAY to work, if they have to pay out the bar.

The TikToker posted her story and it instantly went viral. Most people were shocked that her restaurant didn't do auto gratuity, but most viewers were servers and able to relate to that horrible feeling. However, evil commenters who have obviously never worked in the service industry or are privileged enough to have other job options, decided they needed to add their opinions about tipping and it will make anyone who's worked in the service industry groan. Can you believe there are still people out there saying they won't leave any tip if there was just ONE little slip up. You forgot the side of ketchup? That's it, you don't deserve to make any money off of this 7 hour /$300+ check. It's so messed up!

But don't worry, many of these ignorant commenters taking the side of the non-tippers are getting put into their place by other commenters who most likely have worked in the service industry before and have a lot more experience in the matter.

Woman Savagely Annihilates Ex's Entire Friend Group After They Mock Her Heartbroken Email

This woman decided on the nuclear option after being brutally mocked by her ex and his ruthless friend group, the fallout of which caused the dissolution of the entire group. This is another reason to add to the (already long) list of why we hate group chats/emails/texts.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/prettyrevenge subreddit by Redditor u/nosugarcoatings who shared her experiences with the popular Reddit community.

Readers responded and seemed to agree that this revenge story would have qualified for Reddit's r/Prorevenge or r/NuclearRevenge communities, which often host revenge stories with more drastic and wide-reaching consequences than the smaller-scale r/prettyrevenge stories.

"Damn, that's hardcore," responded user blueFireK9. "Literally destroyed his entire social life & relationship in a single emailing session. Good on you."

"And made him come begging her to take him back!" added user bluegrassgazer.

"I think this qualifies for an upgrade to Pro or Nuclear Revenge," remarked user SordoCrabs, commenting on the savage nature of the poster's vengeance.

A Bunch o' Daft British Memes For the Lot o' You

Top o' the mornin' to ya!

Is that British or Irish? Sorry, I get confused.

Just a bunch of smarmy blokes (wanted to use the c-word here but I'd get fired) on a bunch of different islands to me. Best to keep in mind here, you could just as easily say the same thing about where I live too, and those who live in glass houses shouldn't cast stones.

Insults to our various islanded brethren aside…  it has recently become the case that London is one of the top cities for Fail Blog viewership. For whatever reason, you Londoners just can't get enough of this wretched site. What's wrong with you lot?

It might come as just as much of a surprise to the rest of you as it is to us... but cheers to you Londoners. Hope you're having a bloody good week and are enjoying being roasted alive by that incredible heatwave.

Enjoy this list of memes, funny tweets, and some bloody good British humor.

Annoying Manager Memes for People Who Have Mastered Their Fake Laugh to Survive

There are a lot of different parts of a workplace that are conducive to your experience. People probably work better in places that have windows with nice views, and facilities that are useful to their employees. We bet people are happier when they get along with their coworkers, and have the space to get all of their work done in a timely manner. Perhaps people are also happier when they work somewhere that's flexible hours or is really close to a bus or train stop of the commute is lessened by just that much. Where sure it's a mix of everything, but one thing that can definitely help one's experience is having a well-rounded manager. A good manager can really make her break one's experience in a company, but if your manager is not that great, hopefully, they're at least funny enough to make fun of after work.
Whether you love your manager or you love to talk trash about them, we're sure you will find these memes entertaining.

Woman Fired From Cellphone Store For Refusing to Clean Up Other People's Dishes

This cellphone saleswoman was singled out by her manager and told to clean up the mess of dishes in the break room. She was surprised at being singled out for this task and utterly objected to the assignment.

This thread was shared to Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit by Reddit user u/Feminist_Witch_, who shared their story to the joy of readers. Readers proceeded to share their own thoughts and experiences in the comments.

"We had a guy at a job I used to work at that said making coffee was women's work (factory job where the only women were office or lab personnel)," said Any-Faithlessness351. "Guess who wasn't allowed to drink coffee that was made in the plant kitchen anymore?"

"Where I worked, if people left dirty dishes, the staff was notified, and they were thrown out," said Gizmosia. "I think this is just an idiot manager with an idiot policy."

"At my job, people have a habit of leaving dishes in the dishwasher in the break room, and our front desk lady usually ends up taking care of it," shared ShittyExchangeAdmin. "I noticed a sign was on the dishwasher recently saying it was out of order. I asked if it was really broken or if she was just sick doing everybody else's dishes, and she said "Yeah it's not broken I just put the sign on it". Gave me a pretty good chuckle."

Read on to see screenshots and the reactions below. Do you think the manager overstepped? Or were they justified in asking this employee to clean up the back room?

Karen Roasted By Business Owner After She Brings Disruptive Newborn to Nail Salon and Leaves Bad Review

This mother took her newborn to a nail salon appointment and was roasted by the owner for leaving a bad review of her experience. Screenshots of the exchange have since made their way online, and the Karen is now getting picked apart by the internet too.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/EntitledB#%ch subreddit, a subreddit that often handles these types of stories where Karens inflict their entitled ways on others.

Too often we, as a society, give in to the notion that the customer is always right when they often aren't. That's clearly demonstrated by this post where this Karen customer actually thought it was ok to bring a newborn to get her nails done.

Readers expressed their frustrations with the Karen's actions in the comments.

"God this sh#t makes me so angry," commented pm me ur fit. "At least the storeowner can reply to reviews. When I see a response from the store like this, I am much much more likely to go to the location."

"I like that the owner didn't grovel to this woman or offer freebies to get her business back," commented Ok_Store_1983.

"Bet she was picking the baby up too, making it even harder for her manicure to be done smoothly!" suggested brioneb06.

Server Memes For Restaurant Workers Who Are Over It

Working at a restaurant can be stressful and tiring, to say the least. There can be pushy customers, aggressive managers, and, as Mad TV's Bon Qui Qui once yelled, "complicated orders." As a server, you can be sure you'll be on your feet all day, every day. You'll similarly come to grips with the limitations of your memory due to the endless list of dietary restrictions (many of which don't even sound real). And on top of it all, you are expected to smile your way through the pain so that you can maybe, if you're lucky, get at least one 20% tip from a customer during your shift.

For the restless servers out there, we understand your frustration. People can be (literally) the worst. And for those who haven't experienced what it's like to be a server, we hope this provides a little insight so that next time you're being difficult, you can consider, I don't know, not being difficult.

Clingy Coworker Reports Unwitting Mentor to HR For Standing Her Ground

This incompetent coworker reported her competent teammate to HR after she spent months hounding her for information and experience. The report was instigated by the teammate standing her ground after she finally reached a breaking point from all the questions.

In a post on Reddit's r/AITA (Am I the A-Hole), this user shared her story, wanting to see if she was wrong for reporting her teammate.

Readers were quick to point out how out of touch with reality the poster was. Some commenters, like user u/gracca (items #6-10), offered detailed breakdowns of the most delusional parts of the post and highlighted where there were critical mistakes in their thinking.

"YTA," voted user Immediate-System-716. "You're being clingy to the point where it's hurting her productivity and then taking her frustration as hostility."

Other commenters picked up on the same vibes that I had while reading through this post and commented that they just felt annoyed at the author while reading.

"YTA, not only did you obviously hold her back, you were getting on my nerves just while reading this," commented user bosko43buha. "I cannot imagine how she must have felt."

"Lmao, right?" responded user Matty_Cakez. "I'm glad I wasn't the only one annoyed reading this sh#t."

Trash-Talking Memes That'll Serve Some Justice to The Psycho Karens Plaguing Your Life

Please don't make me explain this to you, Karen. It is so much easier to mind your own dang business that it is to cause a scene for no reason. In fact, it feels like the only possible reason for a Karen to cause a scene is because they want to actually make everybody's day miserable. What high being knighted you the all mighty savior of knowing what is right and wrong? Or at least riddle me why you always think you know how to do somebody else's job better even though you have never done what they are doing ever. I don't care if you worked at the corner store of your suburban town growing up, you have never worked in the service industry as it is now, so SHUT UP. It's just, if you actually tell a Karen off, that usually means they're going to call the cops (if they haven't already)… So maybe just send them these memes, laugh in their face, and walk away as fast as possible.

Guy Uno-Reverses Karen Who Thinks He is a Walmart Employee

When a guy went to Walmart's customer service to recover his wife's lost almond milk, he was approached by a wild Karen who assumed he worked there. She insisted that he help her and insisted that he worked there, so he turned the play around and threw it right back at her.

Reddit user u/literalgarbageyo posted this thread to Reddit's r/IDontWorkHereLady, a medium-sized subreddit that often features stories, such as this, that have been shared by Reddit users about their experiences being mistaken for workers. Usually, the individuals making the error in judgment also have other errors in rationale and refuse to accept that they're wrong about the accused's identity.

Readers expressed their enjoyment of the story in the comments.

"This is soooo satisfying and clever. 😊" vibed user ITrCool.

"Well, my dad always taught me to treat people the way that they treat you," responded literalgarbageyo. "I guess I took that literally."

"Love how you called her out on being wrong about how long she was waiting and that you were there first," responded user SheWhoLovesToDraw. "She even doubled down with, "But it's still your fault because I'm wrong!" immediately afterward!"

Property Owner Takes Shady Apartment Manager Down

When it became apparent that the property manager was taking advantage of his building's tenants and doing a generally poor job, this owner realized he needed to take them down.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/nuclearrevenge subreddit by Redditor u/Ranthrow607. This subreddit is a bit like the big brother or the r/ProRevenge and r/pettyrevenge subreddits. Only the most brutally devastating of revenge stories can be posted to this smaller sub.

We've frequently addressed the issue of predatory landlords on this subreddit, and I've personally used my experiences with University apartment buildings as examples. I'll admit, this is the first time I've realized that the company managing the building isn't necessarily the owner itself. These apartment management companies can range from exploitative to downright evil, so nothing in this story surprises me.

Readers enjoyed the story and shared their thoughts in the comments.

"That's what they get for being sh#tty at their job," remarked user MamaDMZ. "Good on you."

"That's what they get for being shitty at their job. Good on you.

"Oh man, I wish the folk who owned our apartment complex were like you." said user Catmeow82. "Your tenants are very lucky you care."

Fail Blog's Top 30 Memes of the Week (August 15, 2022)

Welcome back to another edition of Fail Blog's top memes of the week.

Another day, another dollar. Another week, teetotaller.

I hope that everyone has had a genuinely fantastic, banger of a weekend -filled with lots of memories and relaxation.

As before, the previous iteration of this list is being lazily abandoned, but I'm going to start including my favorite comments from the previous week's post in the text in the hopes of making my job of writing something at the start of each of these somewhat easier.

This week my choice is between our dear and darling readers ChicagoMel and JoeS.Ragman. After reading all of my hard effort that went into last week's list… This was Joe's cheery response:

"Well, that was largely pathetic. Except for #17, now that it is the middle of summer."

Thanks, Joe, appreciate those kind words of encouragement. I was going to add Mel's comment here next, but you all already know exactly what that comment was.

Hope you lads and lasses enjoy this week's list.

Nuclear Revenge: Vengeful Scorned Woman Gets Revenge on Her Cheating-Thieving Ex, Resets All His Debt

This woman went to check the joint account she held with her boyfriend after catching him cheating the night before to her horror he had cleaned out the entire thing. To add insult to injury, essentially all of the money in the account was hers which made him not only a cheater but a thief too.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/ProRevenge subreddit by user u/Revolutionary_Ant209 who shared the story of her absolutely brutal revenge.

See, the thing was, her ex held a lot of debt. Debt recovery was also the industry she held a lot of insider knowledge in. She had previously used that knowledge to help him escape his debt, but that same knowledge helped her plant the seeds of her revenge.

The thing is, in both the US and UK, paying any amount of an owed debt resets the amount of time that debt recovery agencies have to recover the rest of that debt. Debt recovery agencies will often use this themselves to trick debtors into renewing their own expired debt.

With a plan in place, she proceeded with her plan for some nuclear revenge.

Readers loved the story and said so in the comments.

"You learned a lesson, too," said Zoreb1. "No joint account unless married. It is too easy to cut and run otherwise, and nothing can be done. This won't stop an account from being cleaned out but can be brought up in divorce proceedings."

"Yes it was a very hard but important lesson," replied the original poster. "I just wish it hadn't cost me £5k. It was my own stupid fault. I took that lesson to heart."

Greatest Hits: Boss Yells At Intern For Taking Personal Call, Sparks Mass Resignation

This boss laid into an intern when she took a call from her mother telling her that she needed to hurry to the vet to see her dying cat. The boss's reaction sparked a mass resignation within the workplace. Hey, maybe the boss will learn from the consequences of their actions.

This thread was originally posted to Reddit's r/AITA (Am I the A-Hole) subreddit by user pthrowaway98p, who shared their story with the popular sub. They shared their story to see if they were wrong for their part in sparking the mass resignation, sending a company-wide email calling out the boss for their actions. From their description, it doesn't sound like it was a great place to work even before this incident.

Commenters overwhelmingly decreed that the poster completely justified their actions and applauded them for sticking it to their terrible employer.

"NTA and why do people think they're morally obligated to protect their employers from the consequences of the employer's own actions?" commented OsaWyld.

"Also, and I see this a lot in this sub, no OP didn't cause this mass quitting, the company and its treatment of people did," replied tango421 to that comment. "What the boss did was the tipping point, and what OP did facilitated the reaction. [The] root cause was the piss poor behavior of the company. Oh and NTA."

Money Memes for the Financially Challenged

Isn't everyone going to experience some financial instability at one point or another? Obviously, it's not the ideal place to be in, but life comes at you like a falling brick sometimes. Is that a saying? We think you got the visual.

There are periods of our lives where people flat out expect us to be financially unstable, like during school, or even in our twenties. But I don't know about you, but the older I get I'm starting to wonder what stability even is. Because it seems like once you make enough for yourself, you start merging lives with someone else, and going out more and popping out little ones who will get rid of your money faster than you can say, "retirement plan."

Anyway, whether you are currently financially stable, or on the verge of bankruptcy, we're sure some part of you will relate to these broke memes. Let's get into them.

Viral Thread: Recruiter Wants to "Negotiate" Lower Salary, Actually Wants to Trick Candidate Into Taking Lower Pay

This job candidate was asked by the recruiter if they would negotiate a lower paid rate, which turned out to just be a way of trying to get them to take the original offer. The recruiter's actions have drawn the ire of the internet after photos of the exchange were posted online.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit by Reddit user u/Jbeez4117 who shared the thread, which featured screenshots of the exchange, to the popular sub. They posted the thread with the title "That sounds like a pretty f--ing one-sided 'negotiation.' Actual exchange I had this morning."

Readers voiced their thoughts and opinions in the comments and shared some experiences of their own.

"Love how their definition of 'negotiate' was for you to sell yourself short and take the pay cut for them," voiced user LongStreakOfMisery. "[A] sh!t place to work, no doubt. Good thing they showed their true colours so quickly so you could dodge that bullet."

"I got a job offer just yesterday that they tried to give me less than we discussed in the initial interview (10 f--ing thousand less)," shared whowouldsaythis. "After going thru a couple more, they tried to pull this on me. I need the job tbh, but I held my ground and actually got mad on the call. Today I met them and signed a job offer. Update: Meat-Loving Groom Secretly Cancels Vegan Meals, Bride Cancels Wedding and Leaves Him

This bride discovered that her fiancé had gone behind her back and canceled the vegan meals she had ordered. This put the couple in a dicey situation, put marriage plans in doubt, and led the bride to rethink the engagement.

In an update just posted, the original poster has returned to share with readers that she had decided to break off the engagement entirely and leave her fiancé.

The original thread was posted to Reddit's r/AITA (Am I the A-Hole) subreddit by u/SarahJake2022, who initially posted the topic to see if she was in the wrong for her reaction to learning that her fiancé had canceled the vegan dishes that she had organized for her family. Worth noting here that the bride has multiple family members who are vegan, and her family is paying for the catering service.

Readers were forthcoming with their feelings on the subject and clearly showed how they felt about the fiancé. Many users advised her to call off the wedding and leave her fiancé.

"NTA, and for the love of god, don't marry this man," advised user yourlittlebridie.

"NTA, unless you marry him," said Desert Sea 4998. "He showed you who he is. Believe him."

"Definitely NTA," said Constant-Apartment08. "Not only are you the one paying for the food, but a wedding is something you plan as a couple. He felt like your and your family's well-being during the catering wasn't as important as his."

Screenshots of the original thread and reactions start with items #1-11, with the update thread starting at item #12.

Entitled Karen Wants to Buy Woman's Service Dog, Won't Take No For an Answer

An insane Karen sent this woman a message asking to buy her service dog and after receiving multiple "Nos", she launched into Super Saiyan Karen mode. Screenshots of the exchange were posted to Reddit, where they have been making rounds in relevant subreddits.

This thread was shared on Reddit's r/entitledb*tch subreddit, which deals with a predictable subject matter. Often users will post exchanges, such as this one, or text-based stories to the sub in order to out entitled Karens or vent a little about their experiences. This thread was posted by Redditor u/Roxythedog69, but based on the state of the screenshots it's pretty safe to say that this was not original content. These screenshots have been passed around a fair few times we'd say.

Readers responded with shock and awe in the comments.

"Holy Jesus," said bellYATTA. "IF someone wanted my fur baby with an attitude like that, I would go straight play boss music on them. What the hell?!"

"I'd report her account and then post the screenshots on her page if it's public," another user, HinaLuvLuvChan, stated.

Read on for the screenshots and some reactions below. They're a little grainy folks. Sorry about that.

Memes for People Who Just Aren't About the Group Chat Life

The message tone from a group chat is the soundtrack to my nightmares. Why, WHY do we need 30 people in one place texting all at once?

Ding! Ding! Ding! Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! It's like it's never-ending. We can hardly make plans together, IRL. What part of you thinks it's going to work out more smoothly in a chaotic group chat?

It's the wild wild west in there! Everybody is trying to get their word in before the other or before the subject is changed. My brain doesn't want to work that fast. If I'm having a chat with some friends, it should be stress-free. Like, damn. Why do so many of my friends have to respond to some other friend's selfie in a pair of sunglasses?

Like, yes cool, they look great. Did I really need to get a notification for 250 missed texts after 5 minutes?? I get stressed enough with one missed phone call notification. Anyways, if you were thinking about leaving that group chat that never shuts tf up, this is your sign.
