There are a lot of different parts of a workplace that are conducive to your experience. People probably work better in places that have windows with nice views, and facilities that are useful to their employees. We bet people are happier when they get along with their coworkers, and have the space to get all of their work done in a timely manner. Perhaps people are also happier when they work somewhere that's flexible hours or is really close to a bus or train stop of the commute is lessened by just that much. Where sure it's a mix of everything, but one thing that can definitely help one's experience is having a well-rounded manager. A good manager can really make her break one's experience in a company, but if your manager is not that great, hopefully, they're at least funny enough to make fun of after work.
