'[Now I can file] a Wage Claim': Vet tech turns the table on the manager who fires her after she finds out WHY her last paycheck is so late

So long are the days when dreaming about starting your career was fun and exciting instead of stressful and competitive. Remember when us millennials were raised to think we could grow up to be anything we wanted? I clearly remember telling my kindergarten teacher that I wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up and she totally fanned that flame—even though I was still struggling on spelling my own name… What a wondrous and magical time. Now, as an adult, you're attaching your resume to apply to a job just to re-enter all of that exact info onto another page. It's no wonder we've lost our patience when it comes to how we're treated in the workplace.

One recently hired vet tech shared her story of how she was able to turn the tables on her vindictive ex-boss. She was hired with the assurance that her septum piercing would not be a problem. She asked multiple times to make sure, but still on her first day, the manager gave her attitude about it. Still, even though she knew the truth, she removed the piercing for the sake of the job. However, the now salty manager wanted to rid of her. After a short time, she told her she was firing her because of the piercing even though she wasn't wearing it anymore. The entire job was toxic, so it seemed like the vet tech wasn't even that mad about getting fired.

What was the straw that broke the camels back, was when she went to pick up her last paycheck and was told it had been sent in the mail. But not just the regular mail, the 'snail mail' mail, which means it wouldn't reach her for 5 to 10 days. However, after posting her sob story on Reddit, the lovely people of the internet opened her eyes to the wage laws of her area, and now that she has been waiting longer than legally allowed, she is able to file a wage claim. It just goes to show you, if you mess around, you are most definitely going to find out
