What I remember most from my retail days are the stand-still hours of enduring the same piped-in soundtrack, while I fought an aneurism when dealing with the idiocracy of every customer that walked through the doors. Some lunatics say that customers are the 'best part of the retail experience', but those people are just the brainwashed bunch of managerial staff who get enthused by holiday bonuses and mandatory meetings. Anyone who is susceptible to the cuckoo customers on daily basis knows that people lose their minds– and their decorum– when they're shopping. What is it about the smell of fresh clothes, receipt paper, and laminate flooring that gets the people going? Perhaps retail shoppers should be shopping for common sense instead of the latest in footwear.
