Firefighter Gets Dragged Into Mandatory Work Meeting During Off Hours, Calls In From Active Fire

Like toddlers, managers often lack the cognitive capacity to imagine their employees doing anything with their lives other than working. Especially when they're not on the clock. Some will become surprised and angry when you tell them that you have hobbies, or do things like sleep.

This manager didn't seem to understand what "I'm busy" means, so this dude decided to show them what it meant to him. Which probably looked just a little bit like hell on earth. And it seems like this went a long way in communicating his current availability.

Meaningless mandatory work meetings are a drag. Meaningless mandatory work meetings that are scheduled during your time off are just stupid and disrespectful. And meaningless mandatory work meetings scheduled during your time off while you are actively participating in a hazard reduction burn, then being told you will be fired if you do not attend, result in stories like this.
