'My job tried to charge me for personal calls': Employee demands payment for any calls they take outside of work hours

You can tell the hypocrisy of a management decision by how quickly it gets swept under the rug when someone calls them out. A similar phenomenon happens when a bad decision is made; everyone tells them that it is bad. They don't listen until it's too late and then pretend that nothing happened when the inevitable fallout occurs.

"Concerned" Karen Complains About the Firetruck Sirens Waking Her Up

Karens need their sleep, firefighters!

This "concerned citizen" letter was captured and posted to this thread on Reddit's r/F***YouKaren's subreddit by u/Inadequate_Robot. The audacious and exhausted Karen in question was convinced that the nearby fire station was conducting nightly non-emergency runs between 10pm and 9am. She'd ~really appreciate it~ if they would stop. Tired Karen also went so far as to suggest an alternate route because the most important thing on a firefighter's mind during an emergency should, of course, be to avoid her house. We wouldn't want to awaken her majesty from her beauty rest.

Some of the highlights here include accusing firefighters of singlehandedly "disturbing the peace and creating sleep disorder." Also, Karens all around the world should take note: if you're going to post an anonymous letter to your small community complaining about something like noisy firetrucks, it would be a good idea to avoid giving obvious details about where you live. This Karen may be sleep deprived, but she's certainly no longer anonymous. Finally, the threat to pursue legal action at the end of the letter was a nice cherry on top. Good luck with that, girl!

Maid of Honor Fired for Forcing Her "Cheap Lifestyle" Onto Bridezilla

There's nothing like a Bridezilla ruining a lifelong friendship for a party. This maid of honor was fired halfway through the wedding planning process after having to spend $4,000 for the bride's big day. She shared her story via this thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit.

For context: when u/kateymand first began her duties as maid of honor, she was upfront about not wanting to spend more than $3,000 on the wedding, which to her felt like a conservative estimate. Somehow in this family, everyone thinks it's perfectly normal for the maid of honor to be responsible for purchasing not just her own bridesmaid dress (which was $450, more than twice the average cost) but also the dresses for EVERY bridesmaid. I'm sorry, but in what universe is this normal?

The best part, of course, is when the inevitable confrontation happened and the bride LITERALLY said that u/kateymand couldn't be her maid of honor because she keeps trying to "force [her] 'CHEAP lifestyle down her throat.'" First of all, this woman should be a writer because that is visceral imagery right there. Second of all, YIKES! Now, the original poster has no interest in attending the wedding at all, and honestly neither would we.

For more endless Bridezilla content, check out this story where the bride dismissed her maid of honor for not wanting to party as hard as she does.

'Bathroom breaks are now limited to 10 minutes MAXIMUM': Employees fuming after micromanager posts tyrannical list of new site rules

Employees are fuming after this list of rules was posted in a work facility which included requiring employees to be at work 5 minutes early and limiting all bathroom breaks to ten minutes. Photos of the list were posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit where they have been trending and sparking discussion.

This thread was posted by u/Smoothsay to the popular subreddit, which frequently hosts discussions on fair treatment in the workplace in threads where disgruntled workers share their stories. This thread was posted with the title "This was posted at work today."

The four rules, which the HR Business Partner posted, target common complaints and frustrations that corporate managers often have. These managers often see bathroom breaks as a way for workers to shirk their duties. Meanwhile, I can't count the number of times that I have seen managers try to require workers to be ready for work five, ten, or even fifteen minutes before the start of their shift. Five minutes of your time doesn't matter, but 30 seconds of theirs is of utmost importance. Rounding up the list is overtime. Trying to clamp down on overtime by "forbidding unless approval" is a standard method employers use to circumvent laws around overtime. They hope to add unnecessarily complicated steps that pressure managers and workers into underreporting overtime. Any attempts to get this "approval" for overtime will be met with pushback, eventually leading employees to give up on reporting overtime.

The one rule on this list that I'll give them is the "smoking break" rule. The classic smoking break is usually around ten minutes every hour, and when you add it together, you start to realize how much time your smoking coworkers are spending outside puffing on a flaming stick. When you have a boss and coworkers who smoke, a fun game to play is to stand outside with them every time they leave together to have a smoking break.

Still, no one wants to deal with a coworker who desperately needs a nicotine fix, and even this rule is needlessly strict.

The original poster responded to a response in the comments to add some context to their situation.

"Sounds pretty illegal to require employees to be on-site, without pay. Sounds like you need to contact BOLI." -Shitposting24700

"I live in Canada. Seems like a grey area for them asking us to do it but probably illegal to punish us for ignoring." -Smoothsay

Funniest Cow Memes for Any Rancher Out There Struggling to Moove Their Cattle Today

Being a rancher is proud occupation where you can see the efforts of your back-breaking work at the end of your day. It's a beautiful feeling. Working with farm animals is not easy, I don't care how cute those "influencers" make it look. Real ranchers know it is exhausting. But, waking up early in the morning to take care of your animals and they're all healthy and happy and you get to reap the benefits of your hard labor makes it all so worth it. But sometimes you wake up and nothing goes your way—in fact, that's probably most days. To have a day where your animals perfectly listen and do everything exactly as you want them too is rare… Is that even possible? If your cow broke the barn door today, or one of them got loose, or the dang calf got its head stuck in the fence again—these memes are for you!

Netflix and Stress? Partners Fight Over Netflix Login, Bodes Well for the Relationship

We're all familiar with the concept of Netflix and Chill. We've seen how Netflix can bring couples together, but clearly, it can also cause a rift.

This Redditor posted a thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit about how she and her partner share a profile on her Dad's Netflix account. There are already five profiles on the account and her father pays for it in full. Her partner, a teacher, wanted the login information so that he could show a movie to his class one day, but the original poster was hesitant. Not only is the account not hers, but she wasn't comfortable sharing it beyond their household. What if the kids figure out the password? What if her partner forgets to sign out? What if this leads to her Dad getting signed out?

We think all these worries are valid, but the Redditor's partner came home from work ready to fight about it. What he doesn't seem to get is that his significant other's father's Netflix account is a perk of their relationship and not something he's entitled to at all. Also, hasn't he heard of ANY other streaming services? They apparently use his family's Disney+ account. Could they not use that? Wouldn't Disney+ be more appropriate for a class full of kids? We understand her partner's resistance to Hulu (unless he has Hulu with no ads) or HBO Max (given whatever the hell is going on over there). Still, the point is there were other options before he needed to start a whole fight about the Netflix account that, you know, isn't his.

Couples fight about ridiculous things all the time, as we know. Check out this story, in which a woman needed to lock her skincare products in a safe so she could keep them from her boyfriend.

Insane Karen Engages in 'Parking War' With Disabled Veteran, He Gets Revenge

This disabled veteran was at the VA pharmacy picking up some medication when a hostile Karen confronted them. They had brought their mobility scooter to help them navigate the "labyrinth" that is the local VA hospital and arrived at a crawling parking lot. All went smoothly, and they did their business before returning to their vehicle, intending to load the scooter up and "get the heck out of Dodge." When they arrived in the parking lot and approached their vehicle, a car Karen began to get aggressive with them, insisting that they were "cutting" the parking queue by riding past in their mobility scooter. Confused bystanders looked on as the Karen began to yell at the veteran.

When she realized that he was just trying to get to his vehicle to leave, she decided that she wanted his spot, but there was no way in heck that that was going to happen.

Server Gets in Trouble for Not Laughing at a Customer’s Bad Joke

Managers will reprimand you for a variety of things that are sorta kinda understandable: being on your phone at work, being consistently late, etc. This manager, however, scolded one of his employees for not laughing at a customer's uncomfortable joke about her weight.

The employee, who works at a pizza restaurant in a food court, shared his story via this thread on Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit. After asking two women he was serving if they wanted to add bread and pasta to their meal and make their order a combo, the two women laughed, said no, and then added, "If you couldn't tell we're fat enough as it is." Yikes! There's not that much you can do in this awkward moment. u/wagman43 chose to ignore the joke and go ahead with putting in the order.

His manager, who saw the interaction, threatened to write him up if something like this happened again. He believed the server should have just laughed along and told them they weren't overweight. Perhaps so, but the reality is this was an awkward, unforeseen situation that really wasn't the server's emotional burden to take on. Last time we checked, that kind of labor is simply not part of his job description.

Greatest Hits: Meddling Middle-Manager Tries to 'Lean Up' Team and Push Higher Workloads, Team Leader Won’t Let That Fly

This team leader realized they needed to take a stand when their meddling middle manager tried to increase their bonus by leaning up their team and pushing higher volumes of work onto fewer people. So, this effective and compassionate team leader pulled each of their team members aside and instructed them not to put hours of their own unpaid time into extra projects to appease the higher-ups. Their silent suffering and extra effort would do nothing but convince the higher-ups that they had made the right call. No, they had to hit the managers where it hurt -right in the bonus.

This middle manager is far from the first to think they can get away with pulling the rug out from under their lowest-level worker's feet and save money on labor costs by pushing more work onto fewer people. It's a business move as old as time, yet managers will still be patting themselves on the back for thinking of this. It might make money in the short term, but it will kill morale and burn out all of their workers. But they'll still get that short-term bonus, so what do they care?

This post was originally posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by Reddit user u/mikemojc, who shared their story to the popular subreddit with the title "Try to pile on more work to increase your bonus? Not gonna happen..."

Funniest Memes for People Who Definitely Cannot Party Like They Used To, But are Happily in Denial

We like to think that the older we get, the more we learn our limits and are able to make informed decisions about how much we should really be drinking… We like to think that for sure. Is that the case for many people? Sure. But if you found yourself either clicking on this list, or being sent this list by a good friend, we're going to guess that you whole-heartedly do not fit into that category. Like the rest of us, you are basically in denial that you cannot handle that 5th drink like you used to and are probably the liability of the friend group. Hey, somebody has to fill that role. And sometimes it's an honor. You're probably used for a lot of comedic relief, without you the group would be flat-out boring. So whether you feel your youth is slipping away due to your poor decision-making, or you just want to look at some silly memes, this list is for you.

40+ Terrible Puns to Torture Your Soul

This ample collection of puns is sure to torture the very fibers of the being of your soul. If I was wittier, I would write some puns of my own here but you're just going to have to make do with some that I've stolen about writing instead.

"I'm starting to write a book about a tornado disaster

It's just a draft at the moment."

"What do u call a zombie that writes music?

A decomposer."

"My cavewoman girlfriend dumped me.

I should have seen the writing on the wall."

"I'm writing a book about reverse psychology.

Please don't buy it."

‘Only we can make fun of America’: American TikTokers complain about the U.S., but patriotically band together when other countries chime in

Who would've thunk it would take a stupid silly little Gen-Z social media app like TikTok to bridge the dived between American citizens? Democrat or Republican, patriotic or not, American TikTokers have made it perfectly clear that they will throw a whole British person into the harbor if they try to dis us. Only Americans and countries who have straight up been destroyed because of our government can complain—Europeans and Australians can sit down. Sure, we dis on other countries like making fun of the French for being rude to strangers, or the British for having an accent that sounds funny to us—but if these American TikTokers have to hear one more joke at the extremely distasteful expense of our tragic school sho0tings… I mean, Americans are wild ones and TikTok is insane, so who knows what will happen?! Many Americans take to the app to express their frustrations about their government and rights, they'll post for days dismantling different political beliefs. But the second a Swiss person comments they too don't like our government, these U.S. citizens TikTokers are putting their differences aside to join forces and defend their homeland.

Couple Fights Because Fiancé's Mother Keeps Giving Daughter-in-Law Ugly Frog Jewelry

Everyone has drama with their in-laws at some point. Rarely does that drama involve ugly frog jewelry.

So here's the deal. u/jellysmoker posted this thread on Reddit's r/AmiTheA**hole subreddit about how her future mother-in-law's gift-giving love language comes in the form of frog jewelry. That's right, like frogs hanging off of necklaces, frogs on earrings, frogs on rings. Basically, this woman either loves frogs, wants frogs, or thinks her daughter-in-law does. The Redditor feels that the gifts are childish but receives them graciously. She was never planning on bringing it up to her fiancé, but he could tell she was slightly pissed off when her engagement present from her fiancé's mom was, you guessed it, more frog jewelry.

The original poster did mention how her parents gift them with trips instead, which does make her seem snobbish. Other Redditors were quick to criticize her for that remark. Still, however, can we admit that perhaps the original poster was snobbish, but perhaps the frog jewelry gifts are also really strange? I mean, come on. What human adult would ever wear frog jewelry to an event unless it was, like, the zoo or something? Some people are good gift givers and some people are not. A great gift does not have to be an expensive one, but perhaps it does have to exclude frogs.

We've seen other dramatic moments like this. For instance, this mother-in-law insisted her grandkids receive a religious ceremony against the parents' wishes.

Woman Secretly Brings Serial-Bill-Dodger Sister-in-Law’s Wallet to Restaurant so She Can’t Shirk the Bill

We all know this person, Mr./Ms. "Whoopsie Wallet" who never seems to have their wallet, cash, card, or phone on them when it's time to cough up some dough for something. With so many ways to pay in the modern world (who is ever without their phone?), it's amazing that these people have somehow managed to continue to exist. Yet, somehow, they've managed to continue not paying for anything and everything that they possibly can.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AITA (Am I the A-Hole) by Reddit user u/Slow-Pianist-4431 after she found herself repeatedly vicimized by her sister-in-law's use of this method. To combat it, she took a direct approach and made sure that her sister-in-law's wallett made it to the dinner, by bringing it herself.

Now, she's wondering if she was wrong for her actions, her sister-in-law was not at all pleased.

Commenters applauded the woman's actions and decreed that she was not in any way at fault.

Disgruntled Homeowner Takes Down Fake HOA From the Inside

This mother and homeowner had had enough with her HOA and decided to get involved and uncovered a surprising secret. As she delved deeper into the dark and mysterious operations that her paymenters were funding she began to realize… There weren't any operations at all. The HOA did nothing

"The HOA shoveled the snow off the streets in winter and dealt with trash collection, so they were doing something worthwhile, right?" her daughter writes.

"Ha! No. The city controlled the snowplows and garbage trucks, not the HOA. But still, there was the illusion of effort. And besides, one summer they decided to contact a company to plant new trees all over the neighborhood! The fact that the company was owned by the son of the head of the HOA was totally coincidental."

All this money was being paid was essentially protection money from a mob without muscle. While it seems to remain a mystery as to where the money was going, the mother succeeded in taking the HOA down from the inside.

The poster of the story, Reddit user u/quietfangirl, had this to say about the fallout.

"What was the legal fallout, if any, of individual members of the HOA that defrauded the neighborhood?" - KFY

"Honestly? I'm not sure. I know that's a disappointing answer, trust me I'd love to know what their comeuppance was, but as... let's say thorough, as my mom is, she's not really the type of person to keep track of people she doesn't like. I'd say at the very least the individual members of the HOA are no longer allowed to volunteer on another HOA committee, but beyond that, no clue."  -quietfangirl

Annoyng Coworker Memes for People Who Are Not Interested in Hearing What Crazy Thing Your Cat Did Over the Weekend

It's important to have a good relationship with your coworkers, especially if you work from the office the majority of the time. You'd be amazed how much small talk is valued in the corporate world. But we definitely understand how difficult it can be to resist the urge to punch Tim from accounting after he hovered over you for about 10 minutes telling you a story you obviously never asked to hear about. Patience is key, and mastering a fake smile is extremely advantageous as well. Will you lose your sh*t one day? It's possible. Pretending to care about your coworkers can literally feel exhausting, especially when they never seem to be able to read the room in terms of personal space.

So whether you love to hate your coworkers, or just plain hate their guts, you'll probably find some solace in these coworker memes. Just don't forward them to Tim.

The Most Metal Ozzy Osbourne Memes Gathered in Their Masses for True Fans of the Prince of Darkness

"Memes gathered in their masses. Just like Internet trolls at black masses. Comedic minds that plot destruction. Sorcerer of viral comedy construction." Yes, I just changed the lyrics to "War Pigs" to be about memes, because memes are metal AF. You can't call yourself a metal head if you don't know Black Sabbath. I mean, can you even call yourself a millennial if you're not even familiar with The Osbournes?! Seriously, Ozzy Osbourne is an icon, a staple of our culture in humanity. If you're a fan of metal music, then you definitely know him; if you're just a person who doesn't live under a rock than you're at least familiar with him; and if you're Gen-Z than you at least know the Prince of Darkness from memes, right?? His epicness in music is unmatched and his over iconic character is one of a kind. Why do we need a list of Ozzy memes? Because this legend needs to be respected in his influence on Internet culture just as much as his influence in music.

10 Trending Tragic Moments That Went Terribly Wrong and Made People Say 'Well, That Sucks'

Some moments are so devastatingly tragic that all you can do is take a step back and say, "Well, that sucks," as you bury your head in your hands.

Yes, I know, I know, I can already see the comments. "What is this? Actual Fails on Fail Blog?" I can't blame you for that. It's been a long road since the great year of 2010, and as the tastes and trends have changed, we've had to adapt as well. One can't watermark a photo and stamp a bit of text that says "FAIL" on it forever, you know? In the same way, someday in the near future, we'll have roasted our last Karen, and you'll be in here commenting about how we don't post Reddit threads anymore.

But maybe that's just a load of copium, but that's the narrative, and we're sticking to it.

Enjoy this collection of some of the top trending moments from Reddit's r/wellthatsucks community, a subreddit where users share all the terrible things that have happened to them in their daily lives.

Man’s Vacation Ruined by Not One but Two Karens at the Airport

Imagine your trip to Florida being upended by run-ins with not one but two Karens at the airport. This Redditor can. He posted this thread on Reddit's r/F***YouKaren subreddit and recounted the story of his vacation gone wrong.

The first Karen popped up at security, of course. Karen #1 angrily accused the Redditor of stealing her bag despite the name tag that clearly shows the original poster's bag was his own. That Karen was taken away by police for allegedly pulling the same stunt with multiple people at the airport. Looks like we have a stealing Karen on our hands!

The second Karen came after the Redditor and his friends landed in Orlando, Florida, the home of many a Karen. The original poster was sitting in a food court and giving himself an insulin shot after checking his blood sugar levels. This prompted Karen #2 to enter center stage and accuse the Redditor of doing drugs at the airport. After harassing him twice despite the Redditor's attempts to correct her, Karen #2 literally chased the Redditor and his friends on their way to their rental car. She too was taken to Karen Jail by the police. We imagine Karen Jail is overflowing at this point.

If that's not enough Karen content for you, take a look at this one who set up a meeting with the school principal because she didn't like her son's preferred nickname.

Rebellious Teen Calls Dad By His First Name, Dad Just Ignores Him

What's the fine line between a teenager being in a rebellious phase and a teenager simply being an a$$hole? Teenage rebellion might be normal, but as Wheatus taught us, so are teenage dirtbags.

This thread was posted on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/DramaticShame6177. He recounted how all of a sudden, his son (who is at that horrific age of 15)  randomly started only referring to his parents by their first names. After the Redditor tried to get his son to stop, the son wouldn't and so his Dad started to rebel in his own way. Over dinner, he refused to acknowledge his son until he called his father "Dad."

The back-and-forth in the Reddit comments shows how tough this situation is. Yes, teens can be the worst and we've all been those kids. For instance, I once had a meltdown when my parents got me the wrong kind of ice cream (in fairness, there were fruit chunks in the kind they got…if I wanted fruit, I'd eat fruit, am I right?!). Calling your parents by their first name isn't exactly the worst thing a teenager could do (that would be purchasing a drum kit and rehearsing at night). Still, though, it's a sign of disrespect and a phase like this can only really come to an end if this father's son is made aware of how much it bothers his Dad. We recommend another sit-down conversation and not one that leans into parent-child power dynamics, but one about mutual respect.

Absolute Nightmare Neighbor Makes Terrible Smells and Plays Loud Music Late at Night, Thinks Their Neighbor is the Crazy One

I'm moving into a duplex at the end of this week, and this post stuck out to me because it realizes all of the anxieties that I have ever had about moving into a new place, especially in a place like an apartment, unit, or duplex that shares walls with other persons.

This thread was posted on Reddit's r/legaladvice subreddit by user, u/DrLawrencePleebles, who is looking for some advice on a developing situation in which his arrogance and entitlement have landed him.

In general, when you're looking for a place going for a 10-minute viewing of a house in the middle of a weekday gives you a highly inaccurate depiction of the experience you're actually going to have when living there. Very few people will be home at that time of day, and the streets are normally at their quietest. So, you get an impression that you're going to be moving into a place of still and peaceful bliss when the reality is likely very different.

During your first night in the place, you begin to realize everything you missed with your narrow frame of perception, and reality starts to dawn.

There's a TV blaring through the wall, you can hear a kid throwing a tantrum across the street, and the cars being directed down your street by Google Maps to avoid rush hour traffic are slamming into every speed bump creating a distinctive scraping boom that pierces the din.

Your only hope is that this daily ritual of noise settles down early; after all, you've signed a 12-month lease, so you'll be stuck here for at least that long. The last thing you want to endure after the evening ruckus is a neighbor who makes noises at late or early hours that keep you from getting sleep. Late-night partiers and loud car owners are a few of the most common culprits.

Enter this a-hole. He was creating feral smells that prevented his poor neighbor from opening her window on a hot summer's night and blaring loud music late in the evening just because he enjoyed it. This bizarre individual is so self-centered and self-indulgent that he has gone so far as to convince himself that his poor, suffering neighbor is in the wrong for having the misfortune of living next to him.

This guy is a worst-case scenario for many of us, and I will count my blessings if I don't end up sharing a wall with someone like him.

The Funniest Football Memes Only Steeler Fans Will Understand

Pittsburgh is a drinking city with a sports problem, so of course they have some of the most intense and dedicated football fans. If you're from this city, you don't so much have to be a football fan per se, but you most definitely have to be a Steelers fan. Because if you ain't a Stillers fan, then "you ain't sh*t"—according to Steeler fans. These rowdy football fans are not only so intense that the team doesn't even need cheerleaders to cheer them on, but they also give their team a good name in memes. Sure, if you know football you would probably understand most of these memes too. But these memes are 100% Steelers, baby. Browns fans will cry. Raven fans will roll their eyes. And Patriot fans will probably punch a wall or throw something. But yinz Steeler fans will love these memes, even the ones that hit them where it hurts, because Steelers fans are the best!

Entitled Neighbor Karen Calls Tow Truck When Guy Parks in Front of His Own House

Most of the joy of owning or residing in your own place is that, while you're in that space, the rest of the world can be damned and leave you the hell alone. This is a privilege that is a huge motivator for a lot of folks who seek to enter themselves into immeasurable debt just to have a place that they can call their own. A place away from all the travelers, Karens, and other nuisances that are the entitled people of the world.

Imagine this user's shock and horror when he was confronted by a Neighbor Karen in front of his own house for parking there. The feeling of having that bubble of peace pierced by her cutting gaze and sharp jewels must have been unsettling.

Reddit user u/hunting-my-myelin posted this story to Reddit's r/EntitledB*tch subreddit in a thread titled "EB calls the towing service on me for parking in front of MY driveway." Commenters poked fun at the Karen and shared their thoughts in the comments.

For more, check out this Karen who lost it at a guy who was selling a dining set on Facebook.

Oh, and 'EB' in posts from this subreddit stands for "Entitled B*tch"

Monster-in-Law Organizes a Religious Ceremony for Grandkids Against the Parents' Wishes

Let's preface this story by acknowledging that we love all grandparents. We love when they try to understand trends, we love when they give weird outdated gifts (one time I got a DVD in 2019), and we love when they try to help. Hopefully, however, it's not too controversial to admit that grandparents can sometimes become an imposition.

This thread was posted on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/Ecstatic-Bullfrog291, who shared her story about how her mother-in-law organized a surprise ceremony at a baptist church for her three-month-old twins without clearing it with the twins' parents first. The original poster and her husband haven't set foot in a church in over a decade and have actively sought to keep their children away from religion, yet despite being completely aware of this, the twins' grandmother made plans of her own. Not only did she find a pastor for the ceremony, but she insisted that the parents drive their twins several hours to her community.

Let's not downplay this. Traveling with three-month-olds is about as excruciating and uncomfortable as watching Johnny Depp's appearance at the VMAs last weekend. So the question is: should this Redditor appease her mother-in-law, or should she put her foot down? We're going with the latter here. How a parent chooses to raise their children when it comes to religion is 100% their choice and no one else's. Compromising now might send the wrong message to the twins' grandmother, who could continue to push and push and push (like when you're leaving a store and don't see the sign that clearly says "pull"). We're also of the mind that the original poster's husband should take the lead on this because, after all, he's the Monster-in-Law's son.

We've seen other instances of family drama. Like this story where a college student excluded her mom from helping her move into her dorm room after years of feeling ostracized by her stepfather.

Dad Demands Participation Ribbon For His "Loser" Son, Gets Exactly What He Asked For

Ask, and you shall receive! Just beware that the Monkey's Paw doesn't curl into a fist and smack you right on your entitled behind.

That's what happened to Greg's dear old dad when he demanded a participation ribbon from Greg's karate instructor. It's an age-old rule that martial arts instructors are not people to be trifled with, but clearly, that's a lesson that Greg's dad never learned. He must have missed out on the cultural masterpiece that was American Ninja 3: Blood Hunt. So, when he grew aggressive with his entitled behavior, the instructor gave him exactly what he asked for.

After all, martial arts instructors have fists of hardened steel that are registered weapons of the FBI.

In today's world, Greg's mom would be on Twitter trying to get Greg's instructor canceled for being insensitive to the losing kids. The instructor, meanwhile, would have thinly veiled political rhetoric and images of the Punisher logo sprinkled all over his profile.

I love the idea of a loser ribbon, I feel like if I had received a few of those, I might have been spurred into more motivated adolescence. That, or caved to the increased weight of expectation. Who's to say? Either way, this is a glorious act of martial malicious compliance

Oh, and before people complain about my amalgamation of references to different martial arts genres, arts, styles (or whatever they're called) these things mean nothing to me, and as far as I can tell they're all the same. Except for that one where you pretty much just hug each other in different ways the whole time, that one's kinda weird.

Dad Jokes You'll Never Admit Are Actually Kind of Clever

Ah, dad jokes. You gotta live with 'em and you could probably live without 'em

Whether you're eating at a fancy restaurant or you're at an event with mixed company, if your father is present, there will be at least one dad joke. Probably five or six. It's important to remember that the job of a father includes nurturing, love, support, etc. All of that is true. But we cannot forget that the primary responsibility of a father is to embarrass you and to do it loudly with unapologetic confidence. We must also not forget that the secondary responsibility of a good dad is to laugh the most at his own joke. You're not fathering correctly if you're not cracking yourself up while your partner and children cringe.  The more we embrace these responsibilities, the more we embrace the artistry of the Dad Joke.

10 Top Trending Tinder Moments of the Week

Welcome to this week's top Tinder moments a collection of the "hottest" things this week in online dating. This week's collection features some short kings, cunning linguists, and one individual who doesn't like capital letters.

A whole lotta conversations and text posts this week, so get your eyes ready for some good old fashioned reading. It's only a matter of time before we forget the art altogether as we'll soon be getting our daily dose of ads and entertainment via an algorithm that connects to our brain chips and reads our thoughts in order to give us our most compatible content.

I can hardly wait, but until that day here's another tried and true listicle of some bizarre strangers on the internet.

Impatient Parker Honks at Spot-Leaver, Takes as Long as Possible to Leave

Busy parking lots can be a stress-inducing nightmare, especially when you have somewhere you desperately need to be. Not to mention there can be tens of other drivers seeking to find that same unicorn parking space that you are. Cruising around the parking lot or nearby streets until you see someone walking to their car can sometimes be the only way to ensure that you aren't going to spend an undeterminable length of time driving around the lot in circles like it's NASCAR.

The appropriate way to hail one of these crucially departing persons is to give them a friendly wave. If you're not feeling shy, you can even roll down your window and ask them if they're about to leave.

What you shouldn't do in this situation is antisocially start laying on your horn the moment they get in their car and start getting themselves prepped for departure. If you do this, I guarantee you will be waiting even longer than you would have initially.

Alas, this is the approach that a spot-seeker took when trying to take Reddit user u/jlb183's spot. They ensured they took as long as possible to leave in a fantastic act of petty revenge. They posted their story to the popular Reddit sub of the same name, receiving a warm reception from readers.

"'I live here now.' 😂" - Catinthemirror

"Right? I'm sitting here and ordering a pizza for delivery now." -carrotkatie

"And the ones that honk are the ones who won't park in the open slot that's three spaces further away, or won't pull to one side while they wait so others can get through." -Fedupintx

"I think you met the guy." -jlb183

Woman Invites Herself to Her Boyfriend's Family Vacation and Doesn't Understand the Problem

You have to hand it to this lady. She has audacity!

This 18-year-old had started doing long distance with her boyfriend and after three months apart, she learned that he and his family were vacationing at an amusement park a few hours away to celebrate his sister's birthday. Rather than see if her boyfriend could extend his visit for some one-on-one time, she decided to invite herself on the trip and insert herself into a vacation where she was clearly not wanted. This thread was posted on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/ultimate_yikesss.

Her boyfriend sent several signals that she shouldn't come, which she acknowledged and actively ignored. She also expressed frustration that the sister's girlfriend was invited and she wasn't. Perhaps that's because the event was, I don't know, the sister's birthday?! This, of course, didn't seem to cross the Redditor's mind.

She admitted in her post to having taken out some of her anger on her boyfriend and although they have since made up and his parents have given the two of them some more time to spend together, the tension remains. We think that tension will continue to remain until this couple breaks up like they clearly need to.

The Redditor's boyfriend and his family were not out of line to structure their vacation around the sister's birthday. It certainly was not his parents' obligation to prioritize this unstable relationship.

We've seen other stories about couples on the rocks. This relationship fell apart after the boyfriend used approximately $800 worth of his significant other's skincare products.
