Why NFTs Are the Next Big Thing (If You’re A Complete Moron)

Wife Complains To Internet That She Can No Longer See Her Husband's Abs

When you're in a relationship for the long haul, there are certain expectations you're going to have to manage as you and your partner change and age. It would strike most people as unreasonable to not take this fact of life into account. Maybe this is one of those reminders that communication is important in any relationship. And when that begins to break down, one opens a Pandora's box of potential pain and disagreement.

In this wife's case, she is very clear about the importance of physical fitness in her life. But at the same time, the husband has recently made a few changes to his life that have resulted in a weight gain of about 10 pounds in 5 months. To many people out there, this feels a little ridiculous, but not to OP. She's pretty clear on how unacceptable this change is to her, and asked the internet to put in their two cents.

Well the internet did, and the consensus is pretty clear. She didn't get the support from strangers that she might have hoped for.

Trending Topic: Digital Art Thief Gets Career Brutally Destroyed After He Infringes On an Artist's Work

This artist noticed that a print shop owner was using some shady practices to create pieces for sale, noting that some of his art was "eerily too familiar" to other artwork he had seen. He confronted the owner on the issue and became the target for attacks on social media. When the artist discovered a piece of his art had been stolen, he knew he needed to exact revenge.

This post was presented by u/WearyButterscotch775 to the r/ProRevenge subreddit this week, where it has garnered 6k upvotes and 150 odd comments.

u/WearyButterscotch775 notes that they are an online artist, and this event took place during their "early 20s." He was pretty put-off that his approach to the issue was so ill-received the print shop owner seemed determined to continue ripping off other artists for profit.

The theft of digital art is a significant issue for artists trying to make a living off of their creative skillset. It has historically been widespread for artists to find that someone else has "sold" their work to online print shops that use the artists' pieces without proper permission.

There has also been a significant recent spike in digital art theft as NFTs become more and more lucrative to grifters and thieves. These scummy NFT creators will take another artist's work, then mint and attach a blockchain to it to sell as an NFT for, sometimes, thousands of dollars. It has gotten so bad that scammers even stole a popular digital artist's work after she tragically passed away from cancer.

Finally, there has also the recent viral video from several weeks ago where a digital modeling artist put Disney on blast for stealing his modeling work and selling it in their parks.

Bold Test Answers That Delivered Mixed Results

Tests suck. Having to smoosh a bunch of information into your brain just to spew it back out onto a sheet of paper has hardly ever felt like an effective way to actually learn something. Most of us learn by doing things anyway, and we'd be hard-pressed to remember any of the stuff we memorized in sixth grade just to get through a pop quiz. Sure, we knew all the countries in Asia at one point, but we keep forgetting Burma isn't a thing anymore, and it's just noise after that.

We never want to relive it again. That moment of tenseness when you look down at an empty sheet of paper, and the answer is just on the tip of your tongue. The clock is coming up on an hour and your pencil is sliding our of your hand, which is cramping from having just written two pages on the World War 2, the answer you gave you're pretty sure was corrupted by an episode of Star Trek. Who knows, maybe "the two big things that ended the war in the East" were in fact Kirk and Spock.

That's why it's so cathartic to see kids who were either clever, or just panicked and came up with whatever they could.

Features That Quietly Scream "I've Got Tons Of Money"

Most of us have dreams of becoming independently wealthy. Maybe by having a tik-tok blow up and becoming the new face of Arby's, or inventing a flying machine in your garage that runs on farts. Preferably both of those things at the same time. You could fly just about anywhere on one tank of gas if you got free Arby's.

But sometimes it's the people who were born into insane wealth, the people who can't conceive of life any other way, the out-of-touch wealthy people, that really fascinate us. What's going on in those heads of theirs that they lay down on satin pillows? Their beds made of platinum. Their duvets of solid gold so heavy it would crush anyone who decided to sleep under it.

We live in a world with terrifyingly large pits of money that some of us have managed to scrooge-mcduck their way into. Being in a society that has such a stratified system of wealth is fascinating as well as frustrating. The fact that one person might have to buy insulin on layaway and another person just bought a support yacht for their mega-yacht feels inherently gross. It's easy to wonder what the rest of us are doing with our tiny little lives. The lives and attitudes of the wealthy are as fascinating as they are frustrating, and money has an affect on how people interact with the world around them.

Top 10 Most Brutal Viral Elden Ring Deaths That Have Left Gamers Devastated

Game developer FromSoftware has made a name for itself in the industry for the brutal and unforgiving gameplay of its "Souls" series of games, which have spawned an entire subgenre that seeks to emulate the suffering of FromSoftware's formula.

Their most recent project, Elden Ring, has been unleashed upon gamers to the tune of rave reviews. Seriously, I have yet to read or see something bad about this game. As of the writing of this post, it is currently sitting at a 95% Metacritic Rating.

This impeccable critical reception has made it the target of mass review bombing by a subset of triggered gamers who can't stand to see Elden Ring topping their game of choice.

Despite this campaign against the game, it still sits at a 7.9 user rating.

Memes About Memes To Worsen That Meme Dependency

Is knowing a bunch of memes the same as having a personality? Not exactly. Knowing a bunch of pictures and what emotions they represent is a lot more like understanding hieroglyphics than it is actually having an articulated set of values. It's kind of like how knowing French doesn't really mean anything other than the fact that you can understand French. A love of quality memes does, however, identify someone as having particularly excellent taste.

Memes used to just be cats and burgers, but in these short few decades, they've grown up and become their own machine. So naturally, that machine will of course turn in on itself and start commenting on the fact that it exists. Like an existential crisis, but only a little funnier. Here are memes about making memes, consuming them, and every other part of the meme economy people seem to find themselves participating in. One day there will be a great singularity and everyone will become their own meme, but before that perfect day comes, we have this. So good luck out there, and happy meme-ing. One does not simply, and all that jazz.

(Jazz music stops)

Wildly Petty Moments That Really Escalated Things

Most anyone would tell you that letting things slide is a virtue. In the grand scheme of things, it's better to allow negativity to roll away like water off a duck's back. But some of us are geese. And geese will honk and bite and poop everywhere even if you don't get too close.

Here are some people who chose to take things to the extreme, make them personal, and use the power of spite to greatly inconvenience the people who they've felt wronged them. We can't say that we agree with every reason or method, but we can look at them with our mouths hanging wide open going "damn son that's petty as hell."

So maybe these are more of a warning than anything else. Know that there are people out there who, if you wrong them in the right way, will make sure that you have a bad time. Especially if it's over something trivial. Maybe deep down we all wish we could get this petty. But at the end of the day, these folks are being petty enough for the rest of us.

Hapless Idiot Humiliated, Gets Lost In Girl's Dorm During a One-Night Stand

This sorry soul found himself completely lost inside of a girl's dormitory when he was over at her's for a one-night stand. Wearing nothing but his boxers, he was forced to ask for help from a random girl who took him knocking on doors at  4 am to try and find his lost lover.

u/Silly_Donut_362 shared this story about what happened to him "a couple of years ago" to Reddit's r/TIFU subreddit. If you didn't already know, and I find it hard to imagine someone reading doesn't, TIFU stands for "Today I F-ed Up" and it's one of the oldest initialisms on the internet.

I don't know what's worse in this story, the fact that he couldn't even remember her hair color or the fact that he was practically naked for this entire event. One thing is for certain this is a new core memory. One of those memories that keep you up at night for years afterward, as you lie in bed cringing yourself into the dark abyss of shame.

People Share Their "Screw It, I'll Deal With It Later" Moments

Risks are an important part of life. If we don't take the right risks, we can miss out on important opportunities. It's common for us to find ourselves shackled by our own sense of security. Choosing to walk out of a bad job or ask someone out can feel incredibly stressful, but there are moments when we just kinda go "f*ck it" and see what happens. Even a seemingly stupid decision can sometimes be necessary. And those moments of taking a leap can have longstanding positive benefits for us.

And then there are other times when we know our decision is just plain stupid. Choosing to get back together with someone you know is bad for you, or stealing a police officer's hat off his head are definitely risky maneuvers, but they don't hold a lot in the equation for potential gain. The problem is that good stupid and bad stupid risky moments can feel almost identical.

When telling oneself "We'll just deal with the consequences later" it's often important to take into consideration what exactly those consequences will be, but sometimes we just don't have the time to think about it.

For some tales of escape, here are some people's "screw it, I'm out" moments.

Boss Won't Respect People's Time, Employee Cleverly Trains Her

Bosses, much like children, need to learn that their disrespectful behavior has actual consequences. In this case, this bartender had a boss who was notorious for letting potential employees just sit and wait for her to show up. Not understanding that this actually has an affect on people, Madame Henry The Late'th just kept disrespecting their time.

That's when this employee realized they could actually do something about their boss' incessant tardiness. Why not just tell her all the no-shows are just people who got frustrated and left? It's not like she's ever around early enough to know the difference. Amazingly, being treated the way she was treating people actually gave this lady some insight and she actually started changing her behavior.

You'd think this is something an adult would just need to be told, rather than shown through an elaborate ruse. But adults aren't that smart, and results are results.

Wildlife Control Employee Gets Called in for "Squeaking" Heard in the Attic, Turns Out to be Over 1,000 Bats

Malicious Compliance: Frustrated Technology Teacher Destroys Fifty Computers Following Boss's Poor Choice of Words

This tech instructor, u/Personal_Lavishness4, worked as a volunteer at a private high school in the 90s, waited patiently for the school to approve a budget to put him onto salary, and adequately introduce computers to the school.

Unfortunately, this technology wasn't a priority for the old hats running the school, and they found every reason not to approve the budget.

The school director was notoriously tight and thought that he had struck a bargain when he convinced a bank to donate their old computers to them. The problem was that these weren't personal computers or "PCs" we know them today. These were bank terminals that did not play nice with a kid looking to learn how to use an operating system for the first time. Essentially, the bank had just offloaded their old trash onto the school, and the idiot director thought he had scored a deal.

The lesson is the same that we often see in "Malicious Compliance" stories… You really should choose your words with care when you're threatening someone.

Alas, the director hadn't learned this lesson. When confronted with the uselessness of the terminals he had authorized, he uttered the following.

"I'm sure they can be helpful in some way. They must be worth something. Figure it out…because if you can't, we're going to have to throw them away."

"Throw them away?" the Instructor must have thought to himself, "Well, don't mind if I do!"

Tumblr Thread: Mojo Jojo's Speech Patterns Are Connected To The "40 Cakes" Meme

This Tumblr thread discusses the connection between Powerpuff Girls villain Mojo Jojo's note-writing speech patterns and the language of the Lex Luthor 40 cakes meme. The Super Dictionary itself was a 1978 comic book dictionary featuring DC comic book characters describing various words in context. The language itself, meant to be more demonstrative of the use of a particular word, rather than entertaining or succinct, feels stilted and weird. One excerpt of Lex Luthor stealing 40 cakes gained popularity as its own meme because of the inherent absurdity of the whole thing. How dare that bad, bad man take all those cakes. He couldn't possibly eat them all himself.

This thread posits that Mojo Jojo's letter-writing is directly influenced by this style of over-descriptive educational writing aimed at children. And with the two side-by-side, it's really easy to see the comparison. Leave it to Tumblr to look for such specific connections like this.

Things People Hate The Most About Their Significant Other

There's a common misconception that love is about finding someone who is completely perfect. The problem with that is that no one is perfect. If someone out there is, good luck setting up your tent at the back of that extremely long line to talk to them. For almost all of us, a working relationship is about accepting a person's flaws within reason. Like, think twice before letting someone with terrifying anger issues and crippling debt into your life. But if someone is otherwise really great and also crosses their legs weird, you might come to the realization that you will simply have to tolerate this person's stupid way of sitting.

So don't feel bad if there's something your spouse does that you kind of hate. As it turns out, everyone has a few things that they are willing to tolerate in an otherwise good relationship. But please. If you call it a hamburder, stop calling it a hamburder. You're embarrassing yourself and everyone around you.

Tumblr Gems And Humorous Tweets To Send Boredom Packing

What can we say, we can't handle our own thoughts. Half of them are about the logistics and practicality of filling an IV bag with cheez wiz, and the rest is screams. Being inside our heads is like being in a cage with a tiger that's just been poked. And that tiger don't like being poked, no sir-ee. Our minds feel like they were produced by Tim Burton and directed by a sack full of sick howler monkeys.

So to escape the veritable haunted houses of our minds, it helps to see what's coming out of someone else's. Sure, most everyone has a head like whistling kettle of pee, but at the same time, it feels nice to see that we're in the same boat. Tumblr and Twitter are places on the internet bustling with the weirdest and most specific of thoughts and foibles, which makes for a nice brain vacation.

So dip that ladle into the interwebs and scoop out some meaning.

Husband Kicked Out of Delivery Room, Goes Home and Misses Birth of Son

When a birthing mother was taken into the delivery room, she asked that only her mother and sister be allowed to enter. This took her husband by surprise as they had never discussed anything of the sort. In a dejected confusion, he decided that he was going to go home if he wasn't needed.

u/aitathawayiwenthome shared this story about his experience to Reddit's r/AmItheAsshole subreddit, where it earned 15.6k upvotes and 6.7k comments.

It's hard to place just precisely what went wrong during what should have been the happiest day of this couple's lives. But, now, u/aitathawayiwenthome has missed the birth of his son, and his in-laws are furious at him for not staying.

As commenters have already suggested, it is bewildering that they wouldn't have discussed this ahead of time. However, I can see from his perspective that he would have assumed he would have been allowed in the delivery room to support his wife and witness the birth of his son. That would be the default expectation, wouldn't it?

I'd have to agree with the verdict here that everyone involved "sucks" and is in the wrong.

Fed Up Teachers Get Revenge on Head of Department, Ensure She Has to Go Without Her Morning Coffee

These teachers got cold and calculated revenge on their "nightmare" Head of Department by ensuring that she repeatedly had to go without her morning cup of coffee.

Whatever she did to these poor souls, she can't have done anything terrible enough to warrant this. It's a cruel act indeed to deprive someone of that essential morning cup of life's essence. Although, if she's that nasty, maybe she needs to cut back on the caffeine a little bit anyways.

This story was originally posted by u/Outside-Question to the r/pettyrevenge subreddit, and it lives up to that name's promise.

u/Outside-Question describes that the staff have had "serious problems" with their Head of Department in the past. She is also an absolute coffee addict and is highly particular about how she takes her cup of joe. This left the perfect opportunity for her underlings to enact small doses of petty revenge upon her.

As commenters have already suggested, if you're going to be a terrible boss, you should probably avoid divulging your weaknesses to your underlings.

Sketchy Choosing Beggar Offers Pay In Exposure, Gets Treated Like The Clown He Is

Things. We want them. The thing about things, as well as services, is that they take time, effort, skill and materials to produce. And in turn, those things cost money. Pretty much everyone agrees on this. Except for some potential employers. There's a type of person who thinks that, just by telling someone what to do, that in and of itself is an opportunity.

"Make me a thing," they say.

"Please give me money for that thing" is the reasonable response.

"How dare you suggest that you deserve money for that thing." they say back, like an idiot. "I'll give you some later. Also don't you have passion for this work? What's wrong with you?"

This kind of sentiment is often directed at potential employees or contractors, when in reality, it should only be said to holes in the ground before promptly being buried, where those words belong.

Here's a guy who demanded work be done in exchange for nothing other than "that work being done," and upon being challenged at this stupid offer, assured OP that they make fat stacks. Very cool, man.

For another person who didn't really understand what money is, here's the Karen who didn't understand why she couldn't buy a showpiece or why work costs money.

Entitled Wife Promises Her Son A Car, Disappointed Her Husband Doesn't Buy One

So this guy goes and buys a car for his biological son's 18th birthday. The kid is disabled and needs the car to get to school. It sounds pretty reasonable.

Meanwhile, this lady's son (husband's stepson) is about to turn 16. She decides that obviously, there's another car coming this way. She basically promises this kid a car, insinuating along the whole way that he's getting one. Of course, she has no proof or confirmation that such a car gift exists. She's just making an assumption rather than, y'know, openly communicating with her husband. Because who would ever think to do something like that?

So push comes to shove, and this kid gets a brand new gaming console. Something most of us would be pretty happy to receive. The thing is, this gaming console doesn't have four tires and a steering wheel. It's not the car that she dreamed up in her head, so naturally, someone is at fault. Pretty cool stuff. The internet let her know what was up.

People And Things That Got A Disproportionate Amount Of Hate

It's fun to collectively hate things. Once you've established a cultural whipping boy or boogeyman, it's kind of okay to say whatever you want about someone, whether or not the mockable thing they do is really within much of their control. The cultural bandwagon is a hard thing to ignore. When there's a single face for something a lot of people don't necessarily love, it's extremely easy to say "Nickelback sucks."

Once the joke of "Nickelback sucks" became a thing, even people who never heard the music were right there, itching for the opportunity to say that they sucked. Whether they suck is honestly up to you. But the amount of sheer hatred a person, place or thing might get for decades might not be proportional to the amount of evil they do in the world.

Guy Fieri might not wear shirts that you like. You might find it gauche that he wears his sunglasses on the back of his head, and his facial hair is a cartoon. But the same time, there are a million other actual violent criminals and corrupt politicians who are actually doing evil things in this world. It just so happens that very few of them have a show on the Food Network.

25 Blursed Images Of Concerning Hilarity

Blessed images and cursed images. They are basically opposites. One serves to create while the other is used to destroy. But like many opposing things, they make a unique and highly piquant pairing. It's like peanut butter and jelly. Or peanut butter and chocolate. Maybe in the case of blursed images, it's like using peanut butter to get gum out of your hair. Still weird, but there's kind of a point.

What makes something truly blursed? It's hard to tell. Maybe the fact that it's not 100 percent cursed or 100 percent blessed. It is a happy medium between freakishly terrifying and feel-good. It could still be cute, it could still be awful, but it as that extra little push into the absurd. Maybe it just reminds us of our mental state at any given time. Maybe we all lead blursed lives without even really thinking about it.

Anyway, here's a bunch of meat Jenga, pizza chihuahuas and floor chess. It's a good time.

Insane Neighbor Lets Her Dogs Attack a Delivery Driver Because She Doesn't Want to Yell In Front of Her Children

There are crazy, terrible neighbors… and then there's Jackie.

u/Wednesdaynevermore (OP) shared this riveting tale today to the r/entitledparents subreddit. The subreddit describes itself as "a place you can put all those wonderful stories of moms or dads thinking that because they have kids, they are entitled to everything."

u/Wednesdaynevermore (OP) describes the saga of their entitled neighbor Jackie, who sounds like an absolute wreck of a human being. She describes Jackie as "One of the most selfish and entitled people I've ever come across."

Further, her children are wholly unhinged and haven't fallen far from the tree. OP describes some of their insane escapades and Jackie's complete ambivalence to her children's behavior.

OP describes this specific incident where Jackie failed to control her dogs when they attacked a delivery driver.

"I ran around the side of the building and saw her dog chasing the driver back to his truck. The dude was clearly terrified."

Jackie thinks nothing of this and continues with her inane existence.

A fraud and a garbage human being. Consider yourself lucky if you don't live next to a Jackie.

Funny Tweets From The Wide World Of Twitter

By the same logic of "hell is other people," Twitter can be anything that you make of it. At the tend of the day, it's just people's most errant thoughts committed to electronic scribblings. And depending on what kind of virtual world you choose to live in, that can be many things. It can be a pleasant and fun experience full of silly cats and humorous ramblings. It can be multi-tweet dissertations on the history and significance of flaming hot Cheetos. But if you're like most of us, it's just people with horrible takes who you've decided to hate-follow because the only thing that makes you feel alive is arguing with insufferable strangers who you'd never meet in real life anyway.

So naturally, it's nice to just get the humorous ramblings for a while. Let the horrible takes and misguided treatises fall away so we can get down to what makes Twitter a fun place; the dumbest foibles and most inconsequential feelings someone might be having at any given time.

Here are some more funny tweets to counteract the drudgery of life.

Entitled Guy Tries Bullying Woman Out Of Disabled Parking Spot, She Shows Him The Stump

It's amazing to see how people change under conditions of resource scarcity. Just go to a buffet and watch what happens when they set out a fresh tray of crab legs. We switch off our humanity and become the worst versions of ourselves, and that's just for crab legs.

Parking a vehicle is a similar story. When we see a parking spot we want get scooped up by a faster individual, there is a brief moment when we're so blinded with rage that we can't even see our own hands. Most of us are able to let these moments pass and continue patiently making circles around the parking lot. But some of us act on our worse instincts in these tenuous moments, completely stop thinking, and make ourselves look like real douchebags.

Just such a thing happened when this woman found herself defending her own parking job to a guy who erroneously assumed that he needed it more. She showed him how he was in the wrong using a strikingly effective method.

For some more wild parking drama, here's the entitled dad who tried to usurp his neighbor's driveway and got towed.

Creepy Unexplained Things People Witnessed In Broad Daylight

We've all been sufficiently creeped out at some point in our lives.

It's almost a right of passage. You and your friends are walking around the woods, just being idiots when suddenly you come across something that shouldn't be there. The air grows still as you look down at whatever it is you've found. Maybe it's a garbage bag full of mannequin heads. It could be a pile of animal bones that aren't native to that area. Maybe it's a sign that says something like "Don't look up."

After that it's usually a pretty quick and easy deliberative process. Between silent gusts of dead leaves, you and your friends decide that maybe it would be a better idea to go home and play video games. You'll never know exactly what you saw that day, or how it got there. But you will think about it some nights when you can't get to sleep. And all of it happened at 1 pm in broad daylight.

Sure, nighttime makes things creepy, but at least things are supposed to be creepy at night.

For some more mysterious tales, here are creepy things people witnessed home alone.

Boss Insists on Precise Lunch Breaks, Employee Forced to Be Less Efficient to Comply

An employee who had been going out of their way to take care of an inefficient task during their lunch break was reprimanded for going over their lunch hour. When they informed their boss what they had been doing, they were met with a stone wall of stupidity and indifference. This left them with no option but to do the task in the usual inefficient manner, thus extending the overall time away from their desk.

Redditor u/The-Golden-Ranger shared this story to the r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit. You might have already figured this out… but it's a subreddit where people share stories in which they maliciously comply with an authority figure's directions.

In this story, u/The-Golden-Ranger explains how they used to take care dropping off the companies bank deposit on the way to their lunch break. They walk past the bank anyway, so it's simply a small matter to stop in on the way to grabbing their food.

This worked well until their boss pulled them up for taking longer than an hour for their lunch one day. When u/The-Golden-Ranger explained what they had been doing to their boss they were met with a blank stare and realized that they might as well "have said nothing because I was once again reminded that I have 1 hour for lunch."

Now, u/The-Golden-Ranger happily spends even longer away from their desk when they leave the office again after their lunch break to take the company vehicle to the bank to make the deposit.

Sounds like a win to us.

Modern Day Shakespeare Writes Incredible Sonnet, Internet Amazed

This tinder virtuoso exceeded the talents of the bard himself when he undertook the task of fulfilling his match's request.

Redditor and dedicated lover, u/drewhead118, asked his tinder match what it was that she wanted him to write for her. When she replied, "A Sonnet about a first love." he went above and beyond to deliver for her.

After spending almost all of the ensuing hour, u/drewhead118 delivered a masterpiece onto this fair maiden. While the sonnet itself is a masterful piece of work… The true talent lies in the messages that are hidden within.

His match was wowed by the brilliance of his poetic skill but it wasn't until he delivered his secret instructions to "read the first letter of each line" that she saw the mastery of his work.

That wasn't all there was to this trick, oh no. Once she had solved the riddle offered by the first instructions he revealed the second layer of mystery that lay hidden within.

Did he get her number in the end? You better believe it.
