Messy Cats Who Failed To Eat Properly

We can't exactly blame cats and kittens for getting food on their face. They don't really have thumbs, so learning to eat can have unintended consequences. And they struggle to understand napkin etiquette, so they're at a pretty big disadvantage when it comes to eating politely.

That said, here are some cats and kittens who messed up big time, to the point that at the best of times they look confused and guilty about what has just happened to them. And at the worst of times, they just look like yogurt-covered goblins. We should cut them some slack. We really should. But we don't really want to. Look at em, all covered in stuff. What's their deal? Don't they have manners? What are they, a bunch of animals?

For some more cats who found themselves in unprecedented situations, here are some bad cats who were shamed for their terrible crimes.

Dude Dupes Diaper Scammers, Leaves Them High And Dry

In this situation, most of us would probably just try to stay out of things completely. "No, can't help you man." It's as easy as that. But some of us see these moments as an opportunity.

Every one of us has interacted with a potential scammer, at least over the internet. The distance makes them pretty easy to avoid. But when you actually know the dude trying to pull a scam on you, under the guise of diapers for his pretend baby no less, it might be worth it at the time to spend a little cash just to make him feel like an idiot.

It has to be a surreal feeling, walking down the side of the road, knowing the sun will come up in just a few hours, carrying your useless ill-gotten diaper gains. But hey, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Here are some incompetent scammers who were their own worst enemies.

Minor Injuries That Are Way More Painful Than They Deserve To Be

Pain is a part of every day life. It makes sense. We're made of meat in a world that, for the most part, isn't made of meat. And when we clumsily knock our leg meat into a table corner in the middle of the night, it's an excellent reminder that every day we live in spite of the universe's best efforts to destroy us.

But the weird part is just how debilitatingly painful some extremely common occurrences can be. Hitting your head on the corner of an open cupboard, or perfectly slamming your razor scooter into your ankle are some excellent examples of a minor, almost cosmetic injury that can still have us doubled over, clutching ourselves and cursing life itself. And then it goes away and we move on. But really we're just restarting the countdown until the next stupid, minor injury that hurts way too much.

Here are some of thestupidest injuries people sustained.

Inspiring Tumblr User is Devising A Clever Tactic For Job Applications

It's no secret that the job applications process is a total sham. The entire ordeal is a bizarre mating dance that would put even the most elaborate rituals of the bird of paradise to shame. You, the applicant, are the male; Prepping your dancing ground with pretty rocks and twig arrangements in the hopes that you might catch a wandering glance from a witting female (or in this case an employer). Once you've drawn their attention… it's time to unleash your best song and dance in order to prove your worth and seal the deal.

We all know that this performance is an elaborate ruse, a facade of eccentric social convention that has been layered on top of what should be a fairly simple process.

If I didn't get so nervous in interviews, I might have the urge to laugh at the performance that I am displaying. Instead, I'm usually in an advanced fight-or-flight response and barely resisting the urge to evacuate my bladder and flee.

Anyways, this clever Tumblr thread has devised a clever way of handling the interview process and we'd love to see this become the norm.

Viral Thread: Employee Seeking Raise to Go With Their Promotion is Immediately Terminated

An employee posted a thread two days ago stating that they had been "promoted" but the associated raise was being withheld. In that initial thread, commenters encouraged them to stand up for themselves since they were essentially getting a pay cut (more responsibility same pay.) The employee took that route and asked about the raise, telling their boss that they were "extremely uncomfortable" with the situation. Nothing was said at work that day, but they were sent an email late last night after they had gone to bed stating that they had been terminated.

The threads were posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit. A subreddit where workers share stories about the social issues associated with being a part of the workforce. The initial thread had been titled "I was "promoted" but they're withholding my raise." while the follow up was posted two days later with the title "Update: fired for asking about the raise associated with my promotion"

Commenters are irate and have been putting the company responsible on blast. Multiple comments have advised the poster to apply for unemployment and submit a Glass Door review.

Read on for the full story below. The initial post is first with the update starting on item 5.

This Creepy Story is Going Viral On Twitter Weeks After It Was First Posted Online

The writers of r/nosleep are determined to torture your dreams. The subreddit describes itself as "A place for Redditors to share their scary personal experiences." What that really means is that it's a constant source of fresh and original horrors that will become creepypastas of the future. For the uninitiated as to what a "creepypasta" is, Know Your Meme's entry describes them as the following:

"Creepypasta is a popular subgenre of copypasta which consists of short horror fictions and urban legends mainly distributed through word of mouth via online message boards or e-mail."

Some of the stories on r/nosleep are real experiences, some are incredible, and some are incredulous. Which one you are reading can often be indeterminate until well into the story which only heightens the spooky effect.

This story was originally posted by Redditor u/writing-with-l in a post titled "My missing husband came home, but I just know it isn't him." The post did very well for the subreddit earning just shy of ten thousand upvotes.

Over three weeks later, on April 11, the story was posted to Twitter by @_Annikus_ where it, as of the writing of this post, has gone absolutely wild. The Tweet has received 32.8k retweets, 14.6k quotes, and 147k likes.

Bicycle Parking Thief Gets The Gift Of His Bike Locked Up

OP had the problem of some stranger who really liked to park in their private bike parking, thus forcing them into a "cycle" of aggravation and inconvenience. After more than enough polite note-leaving and impolite responses, it became clear that a new strategy was in order. OP decided that if this person was going to repeatedly steal their bike parking spot, then they must want their bike to be really safe. So OP went and did the right thing and locked this malicious stranger's bike up. It's only fair.

As it turns out this person didn't take too kindly to OP's kind gesture. Too bad they couldn't exactly do anything about it. It looks like OP wanted to squeeze a few more days of "bike safety" out of this interloper, just as a fun little bonus.

For another episode of parking drama, here's the entitled guy who tried bullying a disabled woman out of a parking lot, so she showed him the stump.

Painfully Relatable Things That Feel Illegal To Do But Aren't

We try to live in a way that won't get us thrown in jail. But at the same time, there are certain things that we feel forced to do based on convention, even with no real legal repercussions. There are tons of them. Small moments where we get the sense that we might be slightly out-of-line, even if we're just living our lives in a way that inconveniences no one. "Uh oh, I hope no one thinks I'm a monster" we say to ourselves, slightly pushing someone's full, unattended cart out of the way at the grocery store. "Dear god, they're on to me," we think, sitting at a red light next to a police car, doing absolutely nothing wrong.

There are a weird amount of these moments where we feel like we're probably doing something wrong even when we're totally fine. But then, there are also moments where we find ourselves doing something and then thinking "wait, that's illegal." It's a strange life to lead.

Sales Rep Reprimanded and Told Not to Worry About Small Contracts, Decision Costs the Company $8 Million

This is one of those "be careful what you wish for" moments that show how important it is to listen to the people under you. Especially when those people are responsible for safeguarding your company's commitments to clients. Yet, whenever there is restructuring and layoffs, teams like this find themselves with less manpower and an ever-increasing workload.

When Reddit user u/infinitiumvortex found themselves in this situation, they were reprimanded for how fastidious they were in their work and told they needed to ignore their smaller contracts and deal with them as swiftly as possible to ensure greater efficiency. But, as often is the case, the shortsighted management team didn't look at how quickly a small contract could cost them. The manager blindly expanding an existing small contract on a handshake deal would land the company in some seriously hot water.

This story was posted on Reddit's r/ProRevenge subreddit by u/infinitiumvortex who tells the story of how their "malicious compliance" caused this revenge to come to be.

Arborist Gets Angry Squirrel Stuck to His Leg, Hilariously Doesn't Know What to Do

"He won't let go cause of fear the squirrel running up on him... Squirrel won't let go cause of fear of being thrown... It's a stalemate!"

Insane Boss Goes Ballistic on Employee Over Text When They Stand Up For Themselves and Quit

When a social media manager was physically threatened by another employee for their handling of the accounts, they walked out with their coworker and quit. Their "now-former boss, Kevin," was so upset over his loss of control over the employees that he sent a barrage of horrific and unprofessional messages targeted at one of the workers.

This story was posted on Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit by u/DragonsOverNYC. The subreddit handles various social issues workers face, general mistreatment at work, and workers' rights. It's extremely common for stories where people have walked out on the job due to abuse to surface. Even still, this is undoubtedly one of the worst text exchanges we've seen from an employer posted to the sub.

Commenters were shocked by the messages and voiced their support for the posting user.

"It's like taking candy from a man child," Redditor THCisMyLife responded. While another user, Superb-Obligation858, quipped, "Did you walk out of a job or whip his ass in Halo?"

Others were quick to point out how fascinated the ex-boss is with the f- word. "Who the f--k thinks it's f--king professional nevermind ap-f--king-propriate to litter your f--cking communications with the f word? What a hyped up manb*tch." responded AbidingDudeAsWell.

Woman Refuses to Board Flight, Cruel In-Laws Don't Want Her Sitting With Them

Parents take notes... If you want your child's partner to feel welcome and included with your family, you need to do the exact opposite of what this family has done.

There are a few different ways I had considered framing this story… Like "Woman Refuses to Board Flight When In-Laws Won't Buy Her a First Class Ticket" because you'd read that title and go, "Oh man, what a spoiled BRAT!" only to read the post and realize that, actually, she had an excellent reason for reacting in the way that she did.

This story was posted on Reddit's r/AITA subreddit by u/NoTGoingThank. She has posted the topic to the subreddit to see whether or not she was in the wrong for refusing to board the flight. Since that incident occurred, her boyfriend has been. "Blowing up [her] phone saying how could I do that to his mother and just back out of a vacation at the last minute as waste [sic] everyone's time and money." This has caused her to break up with her boyfriend and question whether or not she is at fault here for not just sticking it out and dealing with it.

Top Tinder Moments of the Week (April 11, 2022)

These smoldering Tinder moments are the hottest collection of ridiculous and funny interactions that you'll find on the internet this week.

This week's contestants found various forms of rejection in the wild world of online dating. From failed pickup lines, rude responses, and mysterious mistaken catfish scenarios. This week has got them all.

At least one fortunate soul had the chance of a lifetime dropped upon them when they realized that the person that they had matched with was staying on the exact same floor of the exact same hotel as they were. "Would you care for a nightcap back at mine," has never been so easy. Talk about getting lucky.

One thing you won't find in this list is actual dating advice. It would be hard to recommend most any of the pickup lines and "tactics" you find displayed by these would-be lovers. Ladies, let's lay the old "I left something at your house" trick to rest. If it's meant to happen it will happen.

Twitter Thread: Teaching Coworkers How To Use Slang In The Workplace

If not for Urban Dictionary, we would never know what kids these days are saying. It's as if every day there's a new thing to say, and keeping up is its own job.

Many of us have lexicons molded by our time. But just because our brains stopped learning new words when everyone was saying "that's da bomb" does not mean we should date ourselves with our own vocabularies. New words are fun to say, and it's important to know what they mean as to not use them improperly. Imagine if you said "swerve" when you meant "yeet." You'd look like a complete buffoon.

In exchange for teaching the old timers the new cool words, @meanestta learned some valuable corporate jargon. Mostly how to tell people that they're stupid and wrong, but in a way that can be said in an email. Because above all else, it's important to know how to tell your boss that they are "whack" without becoming "temporarily unemployed."

Double Take Inducing Photos Of Peculiar Perspective

We probably rely too much on our sense of sight. It's gotta be the number one sense out there. With phrases like "I won't believe it until I see it" or "I couldn't believe my eyes" so deeply engrained in our language and culture, it's a safe bet to say that eyesight is probably our most trusted way of navigating life. Sure, the other ones are really important, but sight is kind of like the Freddie Mercury of the senses. The other members are integral to completing the picture, but look at that, another sight-based analogy. And a third. They're all over the place.

But at the same time, sight is also probably the most dupe-able of all the senses. It's not like you can smell something from the wrong angle and get a completely skewed perspective on something. But it happens with eyes all the time. And the times that it happens when we're not going 80 down the freeway, it's kind of fun.

Here are some more double take inducing moments that made our eyes figuratively bleed.

The Worst and Weirdest Houseguests People Have Witnessed

Hotels are expensive as hell, and it only makes sense to stay at an old friend's house for a few days so you can save a few hundred bucks. The tradeoff being that you walk softly, don't eat their good food, and offer to do the dishes. Almost everyone can agree that this is a pretty good deal. But then there are those of us who push it.

Sometimes it feels like there are two groups of people who live in this world - people who observe a certain set of rules when they're a guest in someone else's house, and people who will yell at you for owning a guest bed that "makes them" have to pee in it.

At least it makes for a good story. It's certainly not worth it to have had a guest punch a hole in your ceiling just so that you can have something fun to say at parties, but well, it's something. Here are some more absolutely rude guests who made themselves far too comfortable.

Boss Bans Shorts, Doesn't Say Anything About Kilts, Employee Arrives to Work in New Uniform

A worker was told off for wearing shorts to work by their new boss. They went home and consulted the employee handbook and were disappointed to find that the defined dress code backed up the boss. However, the dress code said nothing about whether or not you were allowed to wear a kilt to work. It also said nothing about what color that kilt was allowed to be.

The employee said, "Our office doesn't usually have a strict dress code, but we recently got a new boss, Asshat, who is quite literally the stick up my a$$." There's nothing worse than getting a new boss who is way more strict than the old one and, suddenly, rapport means nothing, and everything is about the boss's control.

It's safe to say that the boss's reaction almost kilt him. The guy almost blew a gasket when he saw the employee walk in to work in all of his glory.

Mother-In-Law Won't Stop Comparing Man To Doctor Ex, Gets Shut Down

This woman's mom still hasn't accepted the fact that her daughter isn't married to a doctor. And apparently she takes every chance she gets to tell this guy that he's not a perfect, wonderful rich doctor. It was obvious that she needed to get her priorities straight, so this guy fired back a nice insult that straightened them out for her. Now that's a nice slam dunk akin to this brother who decimated his brother with a sick burn at his wedding.

In the end, people pointed out the obvious. Particularly, that this woman never should have tolerated her mom being a complete bag to her husband, and the fact that it got like this in the first place is sort of her fault, thus earning her, OP, the title of asshole.

For some more out of control in-laws, here's the mother-in-law who announced a couple's pregnancy before they themselves told anyone and then refused to delete it.

Entitled Coworker Thinks That Her Leave is More Important Because She Has Kids, Tries to Guilt Trip Coworker Into Giving Her Booked Leave

What is it with people thinking they are god's gift to the earth just for having children? All they did was the thing that everyone wants to do and then did the other thing that literally all of their ancestors have done resulted from it.

Having the kids might be hard work… but making it happen is almost too easy. It makes you wonder why we keep seeing stories like this where parents think that their time is more important than their coworkers just because they have kids at home. Sorry Patricia. My Friday night is just as important as yours… even if you spend yours changing dirty diapers and I spend mine running Sunwell with my guild. After all, Kil'Jaeden isn't going to defeat himself.

It really makes you wonder whether this coworker has any shame at all. They just assume that their time with their family is automatically more important than whatever it is that their coworker is doing.

Nostalgic Memes And Images To Conjure The Before-Times

There was a time when TVs were barrel-chested. When video game graphics were chunkier than salsa. Those were the days when going on a bike ride really meant something. The days when you didn't have to do laundry, and didn't feel like a sack of trash for just sitting on the couch all day playing N64. The days when you could just sit on the floor with Legos. And try as we might, we can all but grasp those feelings we had living utterly uncomplicated lives.

We want it back. But it's just all so far away. Now all we can do is listen to Evanescence and try playing old video games, but man it's just not the same. When did all these games get so hard? We couldn't possibly be losing it? That would be impossible. No, it's Mario. He's just gotten older and slower. He did this.

Here are some powerful images of sensory nostalgia.

Entitled Mother Yells at Blind Woman For Accidentally Hitting Child With Her Cane, Calls Her a Liar, Takes Cane Away From Her

Whew. That is an absolute doozy of a title. There's a lot to unpack here.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/entitledparents subreddit by the blind woman in the story, Reddit user u/HecateNocturne. The post went viral after it was posted and sits as one of the most upvoted posts of all time on the subreddit.

In this thread u/HecateNocturne tells the story of a time when she was confronted by an unhinged mother who became upset at her when she accidentally struck her child with her cane. The mother became enraged and called her a liar, claiming that she couldn't be blind because she wasn't wearing sunglasses. She then proceeded to take the cane from the woman for the child to play with before a kind bystander intervened to help.

It's really hard to believe that there are actually people out there in the world who behave like this. They just go about their business being pieces of human garbage and yet face relatively little, if any, consequence.

25 Blursed Images From This Strange Plane Of Existence

There is a time for blessed images, and there is, uh rarely a time for cursed images. But the blursed images of the world are something that fall in between, like an unskilled ice climber slipping into a crevasse. With a dash of creepy and a smattering of weird, it's unclear what you're ever really going to get when something is blursed.

There are no limits to the world of blursedom, no matter how much one thinks that there maybe should be. Will it be a guy with a really tall hat trying his hardest to dunk? Could be. Will it be a dog with a man's face? Maybe? There's probably one of those around her somewhere. When perusing the blursed, the one thing that can always be found is a good time. So bring that positive mental attitude and be rewarded for looking at some deep-into-the-internet high quality crap.

Bold Pizza Delivery Guy Slips Private Note Under Woman's Door, Her Jealous Boyfriend Gets Him Fired

Does this guy sound jealous and insecure to you?

Don't get me wrong… Protecting your girlfriend (or any woman) from the unwanted advances of a creepy guy who doesn't know boundaries is the right thing to do. But it doesn't sound like this boyfriend had any idea what his girlfriend's relationship with this guy was. Not to mean that she has any sort of romantic relationship with this chap… But the boyfriend could definitely be overstepping if she is routinely friendly with him to the point that the delivery guy had a right to be concerned when there was suddenly a strange man in her apartment. If that's what the delivery guy was thinking… then he was doing exactly what the boyfriend thought he was doing: Protecting a woman from a creepy stranger.

If the girlfriend was concerned about the driver's behavior then the boyfriend is completely right for his actions that followed. But, if he's just being jealous and completely overstepping and encroaching on his partner's relationships with other people, then he is just an insecure a-hole.

Twitter User Explains The Creation Of The Greatest Union, The Totwaffle

Waffles and tater tots inhabit very similar realms of fandom. They're simply foods that people are passionate about. Maybe it's the comfortable, almost nostalgic nature of these food items that give them deeper meaning. Maybe it's because they both have silly names.

Here we were, content in our own little world where tater tots and waffles hardly ever met, save for the odd breakfast buffet where someone couldn't be bothered to prep some hash browns.

But the culinary world is all about self expression and change, so naturally these two worlds of tot and waffle would be combined and perfected. Turns out it's really not that hard to smoosh a bunch of tater tots into a waffle iron, but the pomp and circumstance surrounding it is really what we crave. Also it looks very crispy, and that's a definite plus.

Here are some humorous and heinous food memes to pack that gullet.

Customer Refuses To Acknowledge Water Guy's Concerns, Gets House Flooded

Having hundreds of gallons of water pumped into your house is a lot like a relationship, in that communication is key. This customer didn't want to have a free alarm installed, and when told they might be mistaken, insisted on having their totally-not-empty water tank filled up again. As it so happens, they refused to listen to any expertise on the subject and ended up with a living room filled with 800 gallons of cool, refreshing water.

Extreme water damage is something that we wish upon almost no one, but if this customer had made even the slightest effort to fully understand what was happening under their own roof, they wouldn't have ended up living in a lake. Who is there to blame when you repeatedly demand to have your house flooded? It's not like this was even the easiest way to go about things. There was a procedure they could have followed, but apparently lions don't concern themselves with the standard operating procedures of water delivery.

For another fun customer interaction, here's the employee who reversed a customer's coin revenge by counting it all out.

Insane Mother Demands Cancer Patient's Bus Seat For Her Child, Assaults Him, Assaults Police Officer, Gets Arrested

A cancer patient was riding the bus home from his chemotherapy appointment when he was accosted by a raging karen on the bus. This entitled individual demanded his seat, called him a "skinhead POS" and started screaming at him. She then proceeded to assault him and then a police officer before being arrested and escorted off. Talk about an insane escalation of events.

This incredible story was posted to the r/entitledparents subreddit where it stands as one of the most upvoted posts of all time on that sub. u/BigusSpekus tells the tale of the time that he was assaulted by a Karen on the bus and witnessed her getting arrested by a convenient cop. His relatively active account has since gone inactive as of the writing of the post so all we can do is hope that things worked out for the best for him with his treatment.

Read on for the full story below. It's a hell of a ride.

Jerk Sister Kills Brother's Bird While Housesitting, Demands Payment Anyways

When you have to leave your home for an extended period, whether a family emergency or an extended vacation, it's nice to know that you have someone you can rely on to take care of things around your home. Usually, your most significant concern would be your pets, but there's always the house plants and the garden to take care of. Heck, even having someone around to keep an eye on the place can bring you priceless peace of mind.

It's devastating to return home and find that things haven't been taken care of as you had envisioned. Suddenly, that vacation seems a little bit less worthwhile. Now, you have to deal with replanting the garden or replacing your favorite plant… and plants can get surprisingly expensive (Have you heard of "tree law"?) Even worse still is coming home and suddenly having to mourn the loss of a beloved pet, as this poor lad had to.

Nothing will bring that bird back but, forget paying her; she should be paying compensation for her negligence.

Door-Licking Dog Might Be A Genius, Or He Just Likes Licking Doors

We can never be too sure of what's going on in the minds of our pets. We've got some pretty good ideas about it, like this dog who herded a lawn roomba or this tumblr thread about cats with Victorian accents. But before we can hook them up to a machine with a pasta-strainer helmet and ask them about it, we're left with our own observations and theories.

In this case, it looks like the dog has figured out the connection between "doors" and "outside" but the idea of "which door goes outside" seems to have dropped outside of its conceptual framework. What is left with a dog who will lick a door, any door, if he wants to go for a walk. Perhaps it was born out of convenience? Maybe he's onto something? Is this a moment of stark dog brilliance or just misplaced confusion? Maybe the answer is "well he's a dog."

Farmer Goes Viral for Giving Hilarious "Woke" Farming Tips

Both conservative and liberal farmers are laughing at these.
