Working in retail makes you develop a thick skin, as you have no choice but to deal with people who have obviously never heard the word 'no' in their entire lives, let alone been taught basic manners. Anyone who has worked in customer service of any kind will be sure to tell you that the number of times they've been told, 'I'll never shop here again!' would surmount the times it was actually true. In other words, people like to talk, but they don't put their money where their mouth is.
One customer woke up one morning and chose to be an awful human being, calling OP up and demanding that they send their 'express' order over, pronto. The customer said that he didn't 'care' that OP was short-staffed, and the fact that paying for express didn't mean that the store themselves had any responsibility over when the order would arrive didn't seem to phase him either.
The call ended more or less with some shouting; the customer said he would 'never shop at OP's store again'. OP laughed and hung up. Of course, this customer did indeed try to shop there again, but OP wasn't having it. He delivered petty revenge served in three separate portions, and all of them were absolutely delicious.
