What should you do when a client passes you, an esteemed partner of your business, a set of Super Bowl tickets to give to their account manager as a warm thanks for their work? Hand them to the employee as instructed—right? No! What could you possibly stand to gain from that straightforward and ethical decision? Instead, regift them to another client in order to bolster that business relationship, who could care less what your sniveling subordinate thinks—they're never going to know anyways.
Oh? What's that? The client's upset that you regifted their $10,000 surprise? Who could have possibly seen this coming?..
The decision-making abilities of some people leave a lot to be desired, and sometimes it hurts to realize that a lack of empathy and ethics is actually advantageous in this world. Luckily, this a-hole boss received at least some commendation for their terrible actions, although there would only have been true justice if they had been ousted from the company completely.
