When you watch a post-apocalyptic movie like Mad Max or Hunger Games, it's getting easier nowadays to imagine how these disheveled fantasy societies came to be so messed up. The more that the modern age goes hurling towards the abyss of unknown futures, the more clear it becomes that desert wastelands with scantily clad, grunge-gothic cross-dressers might not be so far off.
So maybe the world is heading towards a decent into Mad Max territory with gas prices skyrocketing, impossibly high cost of living, and historically low wages… oh and don't forget the discovery of plastic in everyone's blood stream. Living on a giant, rolling diesel island in the middle of the Mohave doesn't sound too crazy does it?
