It's important to know when to quit. Of course things get difficult. That's just part of being in a job or a relationship. But sometimes you reach a point when you might realize that you're doing something difficult or painful with no reward at the end.
When you're being manipulated by a toxic manager or partner, it's not in their best interest to validate your suspicions that you're being manipulated, because they're terrified that you'll find out and move on to something better. They'll call you a quitter and they'll tell you that you're lazy. They'll ask why you're doing this to them. And they'll do it all while they're taking advantage of you.
In moments like these, it's important to know what your value is so that you stop sticking your neck out for people who would step on it for a dollar. And it's good to know when to say "screw this, I'm out."
