For most of us, it's pretty easy to spot a scammer. Basically if any stranger offers you anything for any reason at all, you can pretty safely assume that that person's gonna try to get you to buy a bunch of gift cards or eventually ask for your social security number. Most of us just ignore these messages or delete them. But some of us see them as a beautiful opportunity for real-life improv. And not just that, but when you take time away from a scammer with stories about your fake dead grandpa and that thing on your foot, you are effectively taking their time away from potentially contacting someone they can actually fleece. It's just a good time to be had all around.
Bless you, people who troll scammers. You're doing the lord's work.
For more things like this, here are some stupid times scammers were their own worst enemies.
