The human eye is a magnificent thing, capable of discerning between incredibly minute shades and hues, able to make meaning out of things that are terrifically great distances away. The human eye will also look at corn and go "what's up with that lady." Maybe the easy-dupability of the human eye is a good analogy for the duality of humans in general. We're all capable of incredible feats of self-determination and creativity, but we're also the people who will jump at the chance to spend 35 dollars on a T-shirt with an opossum on it. Not that that's a particularly bad use of money. It just is what it is. But some things? Some things aren't what they look like they are. And we think that those things are pretty fun to look at.
Like these great many confuzzling moments of skewed perspective or these things that look like other stuff.
