Many of us have an insatiable hunger for knowledge. But rather than hunting down information that is actually useful to us like how to do CPR or the ins and outs of investment banking, we are invariably drawn towards things like "did you know that cows have regional accents." You could call it a complete misappropriation of interest or a catastrophic fumbling of priorities. But we would prefer it to be known as "wanting to know cool stuff so we can be interesting at parties."
And who doesn't like a reminder that the world we live in is fantastically interesting? It's better than just thinking you know everything all the time. We've met people like that, and really often, they don't even know how to mop. What a bunch of wrong-headed, easily forgotten, non-mopping sacks of soon-to-be-dead wasteflesh. Learn to mop.
