Have you ever been denied a promotion for a job that you've already been doing? Especially when the person telling you "things are already covered" is really just saying a thinly veiled version of "but you already do that for free, because I refuse to do it. Why in the world would I pay you more to continue doing my job?" Saying it's a slap in the face would be an understatement. Slaps in the face are preferable.
Just such a thing happened to this guy and his coworker, who were led a line of BS so long that they decided it should be met with strict intervention. And look at that, a position just magically opened up. Isn't it weird how things happen like that? It's such a strange coincidence.
