Ya know those genie jokes? The ones where a guy finds a magic lamp and a genie gives him some wishes, and he ends up with a 10 inch pianist? We like to think that these situations are like real life genie jokes. Guy stupidly demands one thing without fully understanding what he's asking for, and lo and behold guy ends up getting something that he didn't want but still kind of technically asked for. What makes them even better is the added flair that this guy wouldn't have been pushed around if he had first approached the situation with, as Panic at the Disco would say, a sense of poise and rationality.
All it takes to avoid being made a fool by restaurant staff is to be polite and reasonable. That is something a surprising number of people can't find the strength in themselves to do, but in the end it's worth spitless fries.
The guy went through all this to have his meal weighed so things would be "fair" and by god he got his fairness. A hilariously similar thing happened with this customer who demanded a pound of wings and got less wings. With sassier staff, customer demands can go really off the rails like this rude gentleman who demanded no ice and got less than that.
