This woman is giving major White Lotus energy. She blew up at her fiancé for "ruining their vacation" after a family emergency. She posted this thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit and left her judgment up to the ruthless members of the AITA community. They were not kind.

 

The facts are these: the Redditor admittedly yelled at her fiancé for essentially being a good dad and agreeing to take care of his kids after his ex-wife injured herself badly. Who knows? She might have even yelled at him in front of the kids. She does seem to possess that level of entitlement, so anything is fair game. It's wild that she thinks her vacation is more important than his parenting. As one person said in the comments, this will clearly be their first of many fights like this. Viral thread, 'Consider yourself on call': Employer demands employees leave their personal phones on and be contactable at all hours to come into work

The best part of the working day is when you sign off and go home; I don't care how much you love your job… there are no exceptions here. 

Once you've put in your 8, or 9, (or even 10) hours, you're finally free to return to your humble abode,  decompress… and start doing personal chores and obligations. Thanks to the modern workday, there's very little time to get all the things done that you'd like to at home; I'm sure each of us has several projects that we've been putting off due to constraints of time and energy. I, for one, still have to get that veggie garden set up from earlier this year.

Thanks to the boon of technological advances, our ability to remain in contact with our working lives while at home has increased dramatically — while the separation between the two has eroded into near-nothingness.

Well, in a declaration posted to a staff break room, this boss decided to do away with that separation entirely, declaring that all staff were (effectively) on call at all times. Images of the poster went viral today when posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit, making this one of the highest trending images on the internet. 

Commenters on r/antiwork were, of course, furious at the proposition of the alleged image, and the post sparked all kinds of debate and conversation around the problems with these types of workplace intrusions on private life.

Speculation seems to be that this image originated from an emergency department staff area — in my searching, I've been unable to find anything to back up this claim or the origins of the image. Although, based on accounts from people who work in these fields, it wouldn't be out of the question, as these sectors have suffered significantly with staffing thanks to recent global events.

We all keep lists of our dating experiences in our heads, but this guy did a full analysis. Now, the fact that he reveals he is a 23-year-old straight male is perhaps the least surprising aspect of this Reddit thread. Nevertheless, the statistics and the success rates are still fascinating.

 

Let's start with the fact that across all the apps (he's on Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble), he met with 17 of his 226 matches in person. However, once the first dates actually happened, his success rate is overall pretty high moving forward (64% likely to spend the night together and more statistics you'll find below). The most interesting statistic from our perspective is the particular success rate for Bumble compared to the other apps. This guy has a 100% success rate when it comes to getting someone's phone number after a few messages on that specific app and a 100% success rate when it comes to spending the night with a date from Bumble. Fascinating!

The Redditor works at an axe-throwing venue and on his way to work one day, this other driver flies out of nowhere and the two nearly hit each other. Of course, the other driver accused the Redditor of being at fault when clearly it was the other way around. Cut to a half hour later, the Redditor arrives at work and who does he happen to see? That same reckless driver! Technically, workers are supposed to dismiss any customers who seem dangerous given that this is an axe-throwing place. So the Redditor was able to throw this guy out and ensure that he never comes back again.

It's always surprising when decisions directly contradict an organization's stated values and fly in the face of their own data and analytics. Yet, many companies' responses to remote working are exactly that, choosing to return to offices despite increased productivity and record profits. It leads one to wonder… why?

This worker took to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit to share their story and lament the loss of what had been a positive remote working experience. Despite consistently reporting the success and strengths of having a remote workforce, the executives suddenly required all workers to return to the office. The issue is that over the years, workers grew accustomed to remote work, changing their lifestyles and resourcing to be better suited for working from home. Now, with the impending return to office work looming over them, some workers don't know what they're going to do.

Commenters responded to the post, growing the thread into a varied discussion on remote work and the original poster's situation at hand. She was working as a valet driver and they were part of a bridal party. The Bridal party was a large party and they all had parked valet the night before. The thing is, they didn't tell the valet service that they all needed to leave at 8am the next morning. So when a crowd of people came up early in the morning demanding for their car, things got stressful. The valet employees were obviously surprised by this, but they did their best. It was just the redditor, who has a bad hip, and an old man who can't run. So there was no rushing the job, everyone just had to patiently wait. However, there was one family who felt they were entitled to not wait like everyone else… 

The father of this entitled Karen family starts yelling at the valet employee, blaming her for all of the issues, even though it was all of the bridal party's fault. The other bridal party people waiting didn't say a word, it was just this Karen dad and eventually, his Karen daughters joining in. They were yelling and berating this employee, so finally she just turns to the dad and lets him have if. She does NOT hold back. She finishes off her rant to him with an epic "I quit" and walked out while the Karen family was still yelling at her. They had to wait even longer now for their car.

As u/Davetherocker wrote, he has had a new boss for only about four months, but she's experienced in the field. However, she's still finding her footing with the team she's managing, though the OP writes he and the team are supporting her as she learns the ropes. 

The OP's troubles started during a team meeting. It seems very awkward the way he describes it. He writes that at the group meeting, the boss asked for "feedback on her performance," but all of the team members just praised her without actually giving any real criticisms. Now that he's been extra honest in front of the entire team, he's wondering if he made a mistake. 

Next, these food service workers share the funniest things people have ever said to them at the workplace, like one woman who insisted on having vegan deviled eggs.

Some people would do pretty much anything for their family. As Dominic Toretto always said, 'The most important thing in life will always be family". Well, for one Redditor, the most important thing in his life, is sleep. And apparently nothing in this world could threatened to deprive him of his 8 hours– not even the near d3ath experience of a family member. 

His brother-in-law, a father of two children, called the sleepy man over Easter weekend desperately asking for a favor. The BIL's sister had been in a potentially fatal car accident and they would need to drive across the state and check in on her, and say their goodbyes, at the hospital over the weekend. Fearing traumatizing their children, they called up Sleepy and asked him if he and his wife could watch them over the weekend. They had never had any issues with babysitting the kids before, but out of the blue, Sleepy refused to help them out in their time of need. 

He claimed that he needed to get his sleep cycle on track for working night shifts and watching a couple kids, his niece and nephew, over the weekend simply wasn't going to help him get the rest he needed. Excuse me? 

Fuming, the BIL  reminded him that he had said one that 'he would do anything for those kids', but apparently taking care of them for 48hrs when it was literally a life or d3ath situation, was not in that wheelhouse. Although Sleepy works in a steel mill, and his biggest excuse for saying no was because he was going to be working nights, we think that he could have risked a couple of days of sleep discomfort in his SIL and BIL's time of need. Update! '[I] unplugged the Wi-Fi': Husband can't get workaholic wife to take a break, sabotages internet connection, faces backlash online

This guy may have lost his chances at winning Husband of the Year. After repeatedly trying to get his pregnant wife - who is described in this Reddit thread as a workaholic - to take a break for her mental and emotional health, he decided he couldn't wait any longer. So he fully unplugged the Wi-Fi and hid the cord.

 

You can imagine that his wife's response was not one of gratitude. Thankfully, according to an update below, it seems like they were able to work things out moving forward. Still, even though his intentions were pure, it ultimately didn't matter. There is no way that unplugging the Wi-Fi without any warning would alleviate his wife's stress. In fact, if anything, he rapidly escalated the situation. Sure, she clearly needs to take better care of herself and needs to work toward finding a better work/life balance, but that's something couples should build together. Forcing that balance through conflict is not going to be productive.

One Redditor recently felt the full force of roomie drama when he received an out-of-the-blue text from his roommate (who is also his older cousin). 

After generously offering his home to his cousin, u/ThisNameWillSaveMe realized the error of his ways when the kitchen started falling into disrepair. Although he thought that he and his cousin could cohabit peacefully, he noticed right away that their definition of "clean" was completely different. OP would find his cousin playing hours and hours of Fortnite while getting higher than a kite in the middle of the day as dishes in the sink piled up. 

To fight the mountain of dishes (and to avoid being implicated in cleaning any mess that wasn't his), OP started using 1 knife, 1 fork, 1 bowl, and one plate, ensuring that he could contain his mess and keep tabs on his own business. The bad roommate never noticed that OP was using scarce supplies in the kitchen and after months of depravity in the sink, he finally had the audacity to blame the OP for his mess. 

He sent a scathing text to him, pointing a finger at the mountain of dirty dishes in the sink and claiming that he wasn't going to 'be his mommy' and clean up after him. Wait what? After living for months on skimped supplies, OP finally snapped and told his older cousin (and charity case) that he was in fact the one creating the mess and do the adult thing and take care of it instead of placing blame on anyone else. 

After a voracious battle via text, OP kicked out the dirty-disher, forcing him to move out and find a place of his own. Now OP can finally have a clean sink, a free couch, and peace of mind.

'Thieves!!!': Doordasher witnesses a customer getting banned from the app after they try to pull a poorly executed scam

As a Doordash delivery driver, you're privy to a very special kind of customer abuse. As the middle man of a much larger money-grabbing scheme, you often get blamed for pretty much everything from all angles. Food is cold? Your fault. Unresponsive to texts while driving? Blamed. Delivered to the address provided but it's somehow the wrong address? Definitely your responsibility 

*HUGE EYE ROLL* 

…Not only that, but because of the exorbitant fees and ridiculous extravagance of getting food delivered to your house from any restaurant, Doordash users are also notoriously terrible tippers. There's no winning here. 

One delivery driver recently witnessed justice take place when a customer tried to blame him for a lost order. As a seasoned delivery man, u/k-kat93 had delivered to this particular customer before– it was particularly memorable because of the cop car parked in the driveway and the soccer mom sticker on the SUV. After a pretty routine drop off, where he took the food straight to the door, took a photo and bounced, Kat received a notification 15 minutes later that the food was never delivered and he was about to get in trouble for it. No way!

Kat didn't want to put his reputation on the line for a lie, so he informed the customer that he'd left the food like he always did at the address provided. They got snippy in their responses to him, so he contacted customer service to handle the problem, hoping to avoid a bad review that might tarnish his star ratings. 

After explaining the situation to customer service, Kat waited with dread, expecting a bad review or even a write up from the company… but there was nothing. Eventually he went to go check his DM's with the customer and saw that the entire conversation was unreachable, as if their account no longer existed. 

In their attempt to scam Doordash for some free food by blaming the driver, they got themselves banned from the app completely. Justice is a dish delivered cold.

'You are ruining a [baby's] life': Entitled person demands acquaintance change their dog's name so they can use the name for their unborn child

People tend to think they have sole rights to any name they choose. Guarding it with the same vigor that Mickey Mouse's lawyers use to protect his trademarked silhouette (don't even think of attaching three circles to each other for your logo.) It's almost as if people don't realize that their "Emily" is one of the millions, owning to the name being one of the most popular for the last 30 years.

The same goes for any name. Unless you're naming your child something you really shouldn't (ie X Æ A-12), there are likely hundreds of people with the exact same name out there in the world already… and that's just people, not counting the endless amounts of pets out there, all daring to exist with your child's name.

So, being so petty as to demand that your friend's friend change the name of their dog—just so you can claim that name for your child—is laughable at best. Sure, you might be upset if your sister named her kid the same name as your kid. But if the issue is an already named dog connected through a relationship this tenuous and distant, then you haven't got a leg (or four) to stand on.

This is not true for everyone, but it's certainly true for some folks, especially this bride. She saw a random stranger knitting in the hotel lobby on the weekend of her wedding and straight-up assumed she was knitting a white veil for her big day tomorrow. When the Redditor laughed and politely responded that she wasn't a guest of the wedding and that this veil was simply for herself, the bride completely lost it. 

 

Our hearts not only go out to the Redditor who had to endure this bizarre interaction, but also we're thinking of the mother of the bride, who saw the whole freakout unfold and had to pick up the pieces and apologize on her daughter's behalf. Kids are just too demanding, even when they're on their best behavior. The mom in this situation doesn't have much respect for the OP's job or free time, and she also doesn't seem to understand how much work childcare really is. Otherwise, she wouldn't be asking the favors she's demanding from the OP!

Who invented the two-weeks notice for quitting? It's understandable if you are leaving a healthy work environment and you want to help your soon-to-be former employee find a replacement so you don't leave them high and dry because you both have mutual respect for each other. But most of the time the work environment that you are quitting is toxic and you'd love nothing more than to leave them high and dry because you know they would leave you high and dry and probably already have many times before without a pinch of consequences. However, we all still at least attempt to provide that two-week notice before peaceing out of a most hated workplace. But what do you do when they ask you to wait longer before leaving? How do you tell them that this job makes you miserable and you're quitting because you were already at your last straw, so really you would have rather quit last month, but now they're asking you to stay an extra month?? Make the math math please.

That is what happened to one girl, but modern day problems call for modern day solutions. So instead of wasting another bit of her energy on this job she already gave her two-weeks notice for and is asking her to stay an extra month, she turned to AI. She posted to her TikTok that she wanted to figure out a professional way to say to her boss, "I cannot be sad and poor for another month." So she asked ChatGPT, an AI tool that can write content for you if given a prompt. ChatGPT couldn't even think of another way to say it, but it did put a more professional finesse. Being embroiled in an ongoing prank war sounds like a lot of fun—until you find yourself in one. It turns out there's not much that's desirable about constantly being on edge, wondering when the next strike will happen, especially when that strike is likely to come at the most inconvenient time. This is doubly true when you didn't consent to partake in the prank war, to begin with, and it always seems to come from that one clueless coworker who thinks they're hilarious despite being merely obnoxious.
