There are toothless threats, and then there's using your station to intimidate someone who you have no power over in the first place. It's as if a stranger told you they get to have your shoes because it's their birthday. Just because they seem to think they're in a position of authority doesn't mean you actually have to respect that authority. It's kind of beautifully freeing, actually. And it's even more amazing the more convinced they are that you owe them something. What a world we live in.
