'We all owe our lives to Sarah Michelle Gellar': Man refuses to miss the finale of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' during a tornado, ends up saving his entire family from being buried alive

Everyone has that one TV show that is their kryptonite and takes the front seat over all other life responsibilities. You couldn't survive without it! There's no way that you'd miss a single second of that show, you fangirl over all the extras, and you'd sooner pass away than miss the season finale– literally. Well, back in 2003, when missing the live season finale meant that you might just never see it, show fandom required some serious commitment. It's not like you could just tune into your fave streaming service and watch the episode the next day, you had to pledge your time to the network.

One man named Joe, a super-fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, was presented with a predicament when his favorite show was airing their season finale in the midst of an enormous tornado warning in his hometown. Even when sirens were going off and panic was striking his family and neighbors, this man kept a clear head and focused on his #1 priority: Buffy and Angel in the season finale.

Terror-stricken, his wife loaded up herself and the kids in the storm cellar, but Joe decided to stay behind to watch the episode.

"Screw it, I'm watching Buffy"

After hours of a riotous storm and an even more epic season finale, Joe went to go search for his family and heard screams from the underground bunker. A giant oak tree had fallen on top of the storm shelter and trapped his family inside. Luckily, Joe was on the outside and was able to go get help to free his family. If it weren't for Buffy, he would have been trapped in the cellar as well and they all would have been buried alive.

I guess you could argue that Buffy the Vampire Slayer saved all of their lives that day. She really is the hero and savior of the whole world, huh? Plus, the real Sarah Michelle Gellar even reposted this video memoir on her own IG, which is pretty epic for good ol' super-fan Joe. AITA: ‘I want a separate bedroom’ : Couple pays 50/50 rent, entitled boyfriend demands all spare rooms to himself, girlfriend claims 'it's not fair' and asks for separate bedroom

Moving in together with your significant other is as charming as it is stressful. This is the time you truly get to know them. Sharing a living space with anyone can be emotionally draining, and it's normal to want some space for yourself. One woman took to Reddit, sharing the news of her moving in with her boyfriend. They were going to rent a three-bedroom house and had two spare rooms that they were figuring out what to do with.

The entitled boyfriend thought it was totally legitimate to demand that one be his office, and another, a gym. OP thought it didn't make sense that both rooms would serve him, as they were paying 50/50, and she'd always wanted a bedroom for herself, as she'd been riddled with roommates and never had her own space. Scroll down to read what she, and other Redditors, had to say.

'Please help me': Server saves woman from horrendous first date, dude bails, woman returns to enjoy the rest of her meal

Folks, for once, we've got a wholesome tale from your server! This thread was posted by u/Rave-light, who recounted how they were working a shift and noticed a young woman who seemed uncomfortable on a bad first date. The server overheard the dude dismiss her favorite TV show as a "show for women" (the show was Fleabag so you know she had good taste and the guy was straight up in the wrong). When the guy left to go to the bathroom, the woman pulled the server aside and asked for help to get out of this.

And oh, did the server help! She went to the back and called the woman, pretending to be a friend in crisis. The woman left and after a little while, the guy bailed too. After some time passed, the woman called the server back to see if the coast was clear. It was, so she came back into the restaurant and was able to enjoy the rest of her pasta in peace.

'Instantly she starts sprinting to the front desk': Yoga Karen gets diabolical, steals woman's spot in class

There's nothing like a competitive yoga class to bring the Karens out! As someone who is not well-acquainted with the world of getting spots in competitive fitness classes, I was truly shocked by this lady's behavior in the elevator. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/EntitledPeople subreddit by u/hansolox1, who was running a little late to class and found herself in the elevator with Yoga Karen.

Apparently, this studio has a policy that if you don't check in 5 minutes before class, your seat is then up for grabs and you are considered a "no-show." So what did Yoga Karen do? Well, since she didn't have a reservation herself, she purposely stalled the Redditor by pressing the wrong buttons "accidentally" so that the Redditor would miss the 5-minute check-in deadline. Once the elevator arrived at the correct floor, Yoga Karen sprinted to the front desk and grabbed the now-free spot. This is truly diabolical behavior that deserves to be reprimanded. We expect the Redditor to get some much-needed revenge soon! For more stories like this, here's one about a fast-food Karen!

20 Deleted-tweet disasters by people hiding embarrassing mistakes and hot takes

Tweets become at least ten times funnier the moment we can see that the author deleted it! It immediately makes you wonder why they chose to remove the tweet. Were they embarrassed, or did they get something totally wrong?

Below are a bunch of Twitter users who tweeted and deleted. It's especially satisfying to see the ones that are deleted within a minute — but the internet never forgets!

Next up, this concerned neighbor was annoyed at a speeding driver who was being inconsiderate, so they came up with a solid plan to make the speed demon slow their roll.

Update: 'Get off my property now': Entitled Mom breaks into neighbor's backyard to use the pool, gets kicked out, kid destroys neighbor's home with fireworks

This one is full of twists and turns that give entitled mothers a whole new look. These series of updates were compiled and shared via this thread on Reddit's r/BestofRedditorUpdates, and let's just say that what follows is a SAGA.

It all started when this entitled Mom broke into the Original Poster's backyard so that her kids could swim in her pool. After a heated back-and-forth with OP where OP threatened to call the police if she didn't leave, before anyone saw it comes, the entitled Mom's kids were caught urinating in OP's pool. You would think that would be the craziest part of the story, but you would be wrong.

Next, there was the reckless driving and the warning she received from the police. And then, there's the fireworks show gone wrong, which ended in flames. Literally. Keep scrolling below for this epic story. When you're finished, here is a collection of the top entitled folks of the week.

'I'm telling you, you're wrong': Delivery dingus insists he's at the correct address, while customer swears he is not

This package courier got stuck in a loop of stupidity while he tried to figure out where he was. It can't be easy to be a delivery driver of any kind — dealing with bad customers, traffic, and confusion caused by orders makes this quite the demanding job. But this goofy Kevin in particular is not really cut out for the role!

As u/wsele shared to r/StoriesAboutKevin, she had a truly odd encounter with a befuddled delivery dude. She wrote that she placed an order through a courier service, adding that there is not usually any issue with their orders. On this fateful day, she met Kevin, an utterly clueless delivery guy who just couldn't fathom how the customer couldn't be at the same address as him.

Next up, this person really didn't feel like celebrating their birthday after a string of unpleasant events. But when they told their boss, they got sent home for "rudeness"!

'Where's the red flag?': Awkward date dinner ruined by woman's faux pas after her date orders expensive food

This super awkward dating faux pas is keeping one woman awake at night. While on her third date with a guy, the OP suddenly found herself feeling uncomfortable with what her date was ordering to eat.

As u/Upper_Somewhere5005 told r/AmItheA**hole, she's been talking with this guy for about two months, and for their third date, he told her he wanted to treat her to the meal. This took the OP by surprise, because her date had apparently been pretty frugal on their previous dates. She was then even more startled when their meal began — her date ordered several appetizers and "one of the most expensive items on the menu, plus sides."

At this point, the OP freaked out a little, and asked the waitress if they could have separate checks. She was convinced that this guy giving her major red flags. However, commenters told her that she was probably being a bit of an a**hole to this dude who just wanted to pay for a nice dinner for her. This OP played it safe this time, but her date probably won't want to offer to treat her anymore.

Next, this guy was so proud about the petty revenge he got on some "entitled models," only to have the internet roast him for being presumptuous.

'I countersued': Vindictive landlord tries to charge tenant over their deposit, loses big

If there's one thing that makes landlords drool, it's finding a way to keep your deposit, not that they'll actually use that money to fix anything before the next tenant moves in… Hell, the next tenant will be lucky if even their move-in cleaning fee actually gets used to clean the place up before they arrive. (It wouldn't be the first time a cleaning fee ended up in a landlord's pocket.)

When things get ugly in a landlord-tenant relationship, it's always going to be the deposit that gets held over the tenant's head. In this story, it was that and more, with the landlord trying to fabricate charges after their relationship went south. The tenant managed to get the upper hand, citing other violations that the landlord had committed, getting their deposit back… and more.

Keep reading for this classic tale of r/prorevenge. For more, check out this tenant who gave overly honest tours when their landlord forced them to show their apartment.

Guy blasts 'entitled models,' gets roasted by internet for his smelly prank

"This is not the flex you think it is," one person wrote, scolding a guy who was insistent on stopping an "entitled" photo shoot.

On a nice weekend day, this guy and his GF spent the afternoon at a fishing spot. The only thing they didn't count on was other people trying to share their space!

As the OP, u/skipyeahbuddy wrote to r/pettyrevenge, he suddenly noticed some young folks doing a photo shoot by the river. They seemed to be doing a product shoot for sunglasses, but the OP thought they were hogging the space. Then, he watched the group walk in front of a family where a child was fishing, and he was even more convinced the photo group was hogging the area.

The OP got really annoyed at these "entitled models," and soon figured out a nasty prank to get back at them. He probably didn't plan on being out by commenters, who saw the whole situation differently than he did!

Next, this employee rejected his workplace's birthday party for him — and ended up getting totally punished for it.

'They tried to nickel and dime me': Tennant ditches out on lease because of dodgy landlord and their cheap tactics

One of the best parts about renting is when you wind up trapped in a terrible house with a useless slug-like landlord, contractually obligated to continue paying a real-life Jabba the Hutt a (significant) portion of your paycheck. At the same time, they do little to ensure they're delivering you a marketable and inhabitable product. In most places, there's only an escape from this entrapment with arduous process or extreme circumstances. Since the landlord often holds a hefty security deposit over your head, you can't just pack up and leave either —unless the landlord makes the grave error of neglecting to countersign before showing their true colors.

That's what happened when this tenant, Redditor u/TheBreakUp2013, realized they needed to get out their lease—and fast. Their landlord and management had started playing a game with them in order to weasel them out of more cash but sealed their incompetence by neglecting to countersign the lease in the first place.

Keep reading to see the screenshots of the original story. For more, check out this tenant who gave overly honest tours after their landlord coerced them into showing it.

'[She] slammed it 5 times as hard as she could': Rebellious teenager keeps slamming door, parents take the door off the frame

I mean, they do say actions have consequences...

In many instances within Reddit's thriving AITA community, when parents infringe on their children's right to privacy, the parents are often 99.999% likely to be the jerks in that scenario. However, this time, this was a situation in which the teenager may have had it coming. This thread was written by u/The-Compliment-Fairy, and let's just say that after several warnings and discussions about the inconsiderate ways in which her daughter slams the door at night and wakes everyone else up, by the time her daughter yelled and slammed it 5 times in a row, we were all on the mother's side. The fact that she went to school the next day and was so shocked to find that her parents had responded to her actions as promised just goes to show how entitled she was acting. Hopefully, she learned a lesson and doesn't grow up slamming the door at night as an adult too.

‘She viewed me like some kind of servant, and the fact her mom didn't correct her didn't sit right with me’ : Retail worker teaches customer's entitled Karen kid a lesson

Retail customers are exhausting, but when they bring their entitled brat children into the store with them, it's a whole other ballgame. One woman was working at her first retail job, thus encountered many Karens… but this particular one was actually a kid. Of course, not all parents are necessarily good at parenting, and this story represents that obvious lack of guidance, which was sorely needed.

This kid is gonna grow into a full-sized Karen one day if her mother doesn't know how to teach her basic manners. OP decided to take matters into her own hands. When the kid was being disrespectful and yelling at her NOT to bag her toy, OP did the exact opposite, right in front of their face. What ensued was a dramatic outburst, but a lesson well taught (AKA, petty revenge). Scroll down for the full story.

'Am I really wrong here?': Newlywed doesn't want husband to cut honeymoon short despite his SIL's car accident

This one has a twist in the comments no one was expecting. On the surface, this is the story of an immature, heartless newlywed who didn't want her precious honeymoon cut short by the realities of life after her new husband's brother and sister-in-law were involved in a horrible accident.

But if you look through the comments on her thread, which were posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit, there's much more shadiness involved with the husband. Why does he refuse to divulge details about the accident? Why does he refuse to let his wife hear updates from his phone calls? Why does she have to be on an entirely different floor when he takes those calls? Something's definitely fishy, and of course, this had the ruthless judges of the AITA community jumping to some pretty intense conclusions. Keep scrolling to have a look for yourself! When you're finished, here's another story about a Redditor who discovered their CEO was their half-brother.

‘Figure it out': 22-year-old college girl gets financially cut off when her judgmental father finds out she's been working as a stripper for extra cash

Working to pay your way through college is exhausting and extremely difficult. Not only are you just learning how to live on your own– buying groceries, doing laundry, balancing life/work/everything else –but you're a hormonal basket-case that's hellbent on accidentally ruining your own life with drunken mistakes, failing to pay your utilities on time, and taking that required gender studies course. Now when finances are an added concern, things get ever trickier because you're attempting to play a game that's completely rigged. Do you take student loans or do you get a job on top of your studies?

For one college girl, a 22 year old who's father promised to help her out with a few bills through her college experience, she was faced with an impossible task. Because she needed a little extra money to help pay for things at school, she went out and got a job as a night club dancer (technically an exotic dancer). The dancing was fun, the hours were short, and she made a killing in tips, which made stripping the perfect part-time job any college girl! Until…

…She got snitched on.

Her father found out that she was a stripper because his skeezy coworker saw her dancing one night. Her dad completely flipped out and pulled the rug out from under her. Although he had agreed to pay for her car payment through school, he revoked his assistance to pay for the car because she refused to quit her stripper job for a more "dignified" career path. Although she had planned to quit at graduation, the dad simply was not having it. Was he the TA for this one? Or was it warranted that he take away certain financial luxuries from his already struggling collegiate daughter?

'This should NEVER happen to a patient': Woman gets forgotten by hospital staff and walks out to a completely closed down doctor's office

The healthcare system in the U.S. has been a topic of controversy for decades. We pay out the wazoo in taxes for it, yet many of us don't even receive it. And then the ones who do, are either super rich and get top quality care, or not super rich and get subpar or horrible care. We don't blame the health workers! It is the system. But because of this horrible system, we've all, unfortunately, experienced a horrible doctor's visit situation. You know, that time you had an appointment made for 9am, but you didn't get seen until 11am, and you didn't end up leaving that appointment until 3pm? And then you STILL get a bill for $400 in the mail… Yeah, it's unfortunate, but we're all trying to make due with what we have.

However, getting forgotten in the doctor's office and you come out of the patient's room after waiting for over an hour and all the lights are off and nobody is there… Well, that seems a little too far. A woman recently posted her doctor's appointment where she experienced just that.

As a healthcare worker herself, she is completely appalled by what happened to her. A patient should never get forgotten—what if it had been an elderly patient or a patient unable to walk? However, even if it was a healthy patient there just for a check up, they should still not be forgotten. In a video now deleted, the woman says she does not look down on health care providers because of this situation, it seemed like a weird accident. Though she still is in the process of inquiring about it through the proper means. See the full story and video below:

'The neighbors were in my pool': Entitled family disregard new neighbor to use his property because they 'had permission' from previous owner

After buying a house, this guy met his new neighbors, but these people just couldn't let go of an old neighborhood agreement. Relationships between neighbors can be delicate. The family in this guy's story clearly missed house's previous owner, and that didn't stop them from using his property.

As u/rodeopete3281 wrote, he recently purchased a new house, and was fixing it up before move in. He realized that some of his new neighbors were parking at his house every day, which wouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that he was working at this site. The neighbors protested that the last owner of the house was cool with them parking there. But the OP told them they could park there only if they could move before 6 AM every day.

That arrangement only lasted about a week before things escalated. The OP truly did get some petty revenge on this family!

After that, read the tale of this guy's horrible roommates, and their plan to take over his personal space.

'You lied to me and you should deal with the consequences': Nightmare Male Karen thinks he got petty revenge by making enemies with a restaurant

Talk about main character syndrome! This guy literally thought he was wronged by the manager of a restaurant and wound up posting to Reddit to flaunt their outrage. However, even narcissists aren't always fully able to disguise the truth, and it became very clear in the retelling of this story who was actually in the wrong.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit, and let's just say that people in the comments were quick to call the Redditor out on their Karen behavior. There were several moments in this journey when the original poster could have chosen to simply order from another restaurant rather than cause more trouble. But no! They decided to pick a fight, and let's be honest: this was never about the discount code. This was about a person's inability to be wrong. Keep scrolling below for the full story. For more, check out this CEBro's comeuppance.

'I'm paying rent, it's my room': Sneaky roommates run up bills, attempt to steal guy's room while he's away

Living with your pals is a risky move, even if you're life-long friends. This guy shared the story of his two awful roommates, Lisa and Jay, who decided to share a living space.

As the OP wrote, "Every bone in my body is saying this is a bad idea, but I give it a go." Despite their hesitation, the first few months went fine for the OP and their two roommates. But then, things started to shift. The two began acting oddly, like the GF, who suddenly shows up with a $500 phone and TV bill, claiming it's the OP who ran up these charges. The OP was completely befuddled, but Jay and Lisa insisted it was his. They were scheming behind the OP's back, proving them right about that initial bad feeling.

Next, this Karen got so fired up over a few tiki torches that she ended up making it the whole neighborhood's problem.

'Her coworkers thought I'm not good enough': Boy buys ring, girl breaks up with boy because her coworkers don't like him, internet reacts

There are many red flags to watch out for in relationships, but your coworkers' opinions should not be at the top of the list. Unfortunately, however, that became the turning point for this relationship, and it doesn't even sound like the Redditor even met his long-term girlfriend's coworkers at the salon. They had simply overheard conversations and seen his picture and decided that the girlfriend was way out of his league.

So what did the girlfriend do? Instead of attempting to squash the conversation or defend her relationship, she took it to heart and started telling the Redditor that her coworkers are planning for her to meet other men. What kind of crazy guilt-tripping manipulation is that? At a certain point, the original poster snapped and decided to go off the grid for a bit. What happened next was wildly unexpected. Keep scrolling below for the full saga and amusing updates. For more stories like this, here's one about a guy who accidentally invited his boss to a weekend getaway.

Fired-up Karen calls fire department for nothing, so the entire neighborhood retaliates against her

Nosy neighbors always have too much time on their hands to start pointless feuds. In this case, Karen not only ignited a neighborhood fight, she also wasted valuable resources.

This person shared their wild tale from a few years ago, when they first moved into a duplex. The trouble stared the day they moved in, when Karen began interrogating her new neighbor. Acting like she was the HOA, she told the OP that all fire pits and bonfires are banned from the street, then asked lots more invasive question. The OP just ignored her, but after a few months, they decided to put up some tiki torches to keep bugs away. Karen didn't like that! As Karens often do, she made her problem everyone else's problem too. She called up the local fire department to complain, not just once, but several times! What a waste of a fire department's time.

Next up, this high schooler completely ruined a $1000 uniform when he just couldn't follow some simple instructions.

'I got my sister's account suspended' : Brother takes petty revenge on entitled influencer sister for adding him to her viral cooking videos without his consent, leading to family drama

Isn't it crazy that we live in an era where posting yourself online counts as a career? You can make millions of dollars by making maintaining a shocked expression as you stare at an imaginary audience through a camera and overexaggerate the pronunciation of every word you say. Hey, bonus if you learn a trending dance that includes exactly 3 moves with a voiceover of a baby screeching. Times have changed, y'all…

This college student took to the r/AITA subreddit, asking Redditors for their take on a frustrating situation he had handled with his sister. She was an influencer and would film weekly cooking videos at her parent's home, where he was staying as he studied, for her TikTok and Youtube. He requested multiple times that she not include him in the videos, to no avail. So he came up with a plan, which included saying a bunch of controversial things that she would later upload. It resulted in the suspension of her account, and he wondered if he had taken it too far… Was this revenge too wild? You be the judge of that.

Commenters were quick to point out that given the lack of consideration on her part, she had it coming. Scroll down to read the full story. For more, check out this funny story where spam callers were scammed into donating money to charity.

'AITA for not giving my boss my first class seat?': Internet defends worker's decision not to give their boss their personal seat upgrade

If you haven't heard the word: It's 2023, and we're reinstating the law that entitles your lord to anything you own.

How dare you own something nicer than your boss? From now on, if they want your stuff, they get it…. That 10-year-old BMW you're driving? Hand it over. Your new smartwatch? Just put it on their wrist right now. Oh—and they wouldn't mind if you re-homed your family's corgi, Mr. Pickle, to them either.

Just imagine the frailty of this boss's ego. It's pretty hard to imagine what a fragile human being they must be if they took offense to the simple fact that their subordinate didn't give them their personal seat upgrade. They just couldn't even handle them having one thing.

This story was shared on Reddit's r/AmItheA**Hole subreddit by a concerned user who was wondering if they were in the wrong for refusing to give up their seat to their boss. I'll leave you to guess how that verdict went.

'Get new friends': Host kicks guests out of party after someone broke a critical rule

Here's how to ruin a party in just one step. A lot of planning is involved with any party – making a list of food, drinks, party supplies, and more. This person had their party all planned out. They invited their friend group, and mentioned more than once they have a severe allergic reaction. However, once the party actually kicked off, barely an hour passed before someone broke this one critical rule.

How hard is it to avoid someone's serious allergies if you're already aware of them? As commenters noted, only terrible friends would ignore these simple directions and bring the allergen to the party. Plus, as other commenters noted, who in their right mind brings raw fish to cook at an indoor party? Just the intense smell of fish cooking could be enough to end that party. OP has no real friends in sight for this egregious offense.

'Narcissistic bosses are the worst': Employee told she's disposable despite doing all her boss's work, she quits and company suffers

Thankfully, this does not end well for the narcissistic boss. This guy took advantage of his employee's hard work, all while repeating that she was disposable. Well, if she was so disposable, why was he so reliant on her work to then claim as his own?

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/Ok_Negotiation9770, and while we feel for her struggle after she quit, on the bright side, it seems like her former company struggled without her. Even though her boss seemed to think his connection with the higher-ups at the company would keep him from getting fired, word got out very quickly that he wasn't actually the one doing his own job this whole time. So in the end, u/Ok_Negotiation9770 definitely made the right decision.

20+ Strange and mysterious sign fails

Some signs typos are so odd that you're left squinting and wondering how such a mistake could happen. 'The manager quit and it's crazy': Injured employee gets 'nuclear revenge' on negligent boss

Any manager who flouts the rules is bound to learn an expensive lesson. The relationship between a boss and employee is one that has to be carefully navigated. Even more so in the case of this person, whose boss was running a rather shady business, but still chose to be a jerk to his employees.

The OP wrote about their nuclear level revenge they inflicted on their boss. During a snow storm, the employer made the crazy choice to have his employees shovel the parking lot, instead of hiring a truck to do it. The OP writes that the ground basically turned into a "slip n slide" and sure enough, they took a tumble and hurt themself pretty badly. Their boss made it clear that they didn't care. So the OP took it upon themself to report this shady business to everyone they could think of, with some extremely satisfying results.

'The woman laughed and made a whiney noise, mimicking me. She had no idea who she was messing with.' : Entitled Karen teases woman and steals her parking space, leading to wild revenge

Parking at wholefoods can suck the happiness out of anyone. Even if you won the lottery ten minutes prior, sliding into the wholefoods parking lot will take your high and throw it in the trash. The number of Karens running, driving, strutting and squawking is implausible, unless you've seen it firsthand. This lady was waiting patiently for her turn in said parking lot, her blinkers turned on, the wind blowing in her hair, just chilling, as an elderly woman was taking her time leaving her parking spot. Suddenly a Karen appeared out of nowhere and snatched the parking spot up. Mind you, she almost took off the elderly woman's door in the awful act.

Livid, OP asked her what was up. This Karen had the audacity to mimic her and told her 'S-o-rrr-y', which led OP to believe that she was not in fact, sorry at all. She had never been so angry in her life. What ensued was a mix of outrage and humiliation, followed by the use of a certain key on a certain car. Scroll down to read about this sweet, petty revenge.

For more, check out this enraging story of a boss who told his employee that he will 'work when I tell you to work'. It's enough to make anyone maliciously comply to the point where the boss realizes he messed up, big time.
