An employee got ruthless revenge on their terrible boss when they ran into him in a bar, quickly bringing a certain end to the boss's marriage after revealing a long-standing affair that the boss had been having with a coworker.

Redditor and dejected employee u/NALORpod, posted this story to the r/pettyrevenge subreddit. The account details a series of events at his old workplace under his terrible boss.

u/NALORpod worked as a meatpacker… while his boss was busy packing his meat with the receptionist. u/NALORpod explains that he would often come into work for the afternoon shift and find that the receptionist, who was supposed to be running clock-ins, was in "locked door" meetings with the boss. He would take over the clock-in desk while she was absent before starting his work, sometimes getting foul looks from the boss when the pair finally left the office. u/NALORpod explains his philosophy on the situation as "Not my husband or wife. Not my problem."

We continue this dance of me covering her station and getting in trouble for it for a few weeks until an ice storm hit. u/NALORpod got fired for stupid reasons, leaving the desire for revenge burning.

U/drcrankenstein took to the r/HomeDepot subreddit, usually reserved for posts from employees, to ask the workers what their thoughts were. While he got downvoted something fierce on some answers, employees seemed surprisingly mixed about their feelings toward our furry friends. 

Some absolutely love getting to pet dogs, as it improves their day. However, for others, they don't care for the messes and fights that dog owners bring to their stores. Not to mention people who have allergies or are afraid of dogs, there's just no escaping pets at these stores! The OP certainly has much to think about before their next trip to the home improvement store.

There are so many red flags in this story that we lost count. Let's start with the fact that it's one thing for a company to reach out to a former employee for help or advice. However, it's another to reach out to someone they never hired - in fact, someone they fully rejected. And for unpaid advice nonetheless! The 'sheer audacity' is right!

 

This thread, which was posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit by u/Lumberjvvck, serves as yet another example of how many employers these days have no shame when it comes to ethics and boundaries. We haven't even addressed the fact that the Redditor is pretty certain that the person who reached out was the person who received the job offer. How did HR just blindly give away the Redditor's contact information? As we said earlier, there are too many red flags going on here. What's even more upsetting is that if you scroll through the comments below, it's remarkable how unremarkable this phenomenon is. Virtually everyone who commented had been through a similar experience. This company should learn to develop some class.

This "golden rule" or sometimes "ethic of reciprocity" appears universally throughout civilizations and cultures, dating back as far as 2000 BCE in Ancient Egypt. 

Despite its ubiquity in philosophy and religion, small business owners somehow seemed to have missed the memo, often expecting considerations from their workers that they themselves would never give to anyone. This brings us to a common problem regarding the 'trust fall' that is notice periods (and the act of giving notice in general) in the United States. With most of the US being employment at will, your employer could send you packing 20 seconds from now for whatever reason they desired, such as manifesting the failure of their business. So, when you go to give them your two-week notice, you might expect them to do the same in return, but they could take that notice and terminate your employment on the spot.

With this in mind, when an employer has proven that, when push comes to shove, they themself won't follow a notice period, you shouldn't either when leaving that business. (However, if an employer has shown you nothing but respect, it would be wise to treat them with the same.)

After watching two of their coworkers be let go without notice or warning, this worker knew that they were going to be saddled with the whole team's work and quickly made plans to make moves and get out of the toxic bakery where they worked. 

You might say, after all is bread and done, that the employer has found themselves in a shit show of their own baking. They'll knead to get on their hiring game to save themselves from disaster.

We're all the heroes of our own story, and the mind has an impressive way of spinning a narrative so that it isn't at fault—especially when that narrative is going to be posted online for fake internet points. But, hey, it's my job to farm other people's fake-internet-point stories and give my own snazzy take on it for more fake internet points—so I shouldn't be one to judge. 

Because we're so good at making ourselves out to be the "good guy" in a story, it's very telling when someone's own narrative paints them to be the villain or shows cracks in the armor that we can't ignore. If you can't even manage to make yourself sound good, we have to wonder what sort of behavior and warped perspective lies beneath the charade.  

This user shared a story to Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit, which aims to tell the classic story of a "Karen on the bus," and, while the "Karen" she's talking about sounds terrible… the user sounds equally terrible. 

Studies have confirmed that hearing one side of a phone conversation is profoundly more irritating than listening to other people talking, so subjecting the poor people who are stuck on a long-haul bus trip with you is incredibly inconsiderate. The user then goes on to talk about how she is planning to assault the "Karen" with glitter for voicing her annoyance at the phone call, disregarding the fact that someone will have to clean it up and others are likely to be contaminated, confirming the user's warped perspective on the world and propensity toward entitled behavior. 

Just another reason why public transport is a battered hellscape of an experience.

This manager went into work on her day off just to bully her so-called  "friend/employee." In this insane story told to r/AmItheA**hole, the OP described an interesting work situation she's got going on. The 34 year old manager went into her retail job on her day off, probably because she considers her employees to be her friends. Not that bosses and employees can't be friends in theory, but there's got to be some boundaries drawn, and this clueless boss has some major issues with that. 

The employee, Kate, was showing her coworkers a nice box of chocolates from her boyfriend. There was only one piece left when the OP showed up, and she actually had the nerve to ask — twice! — for a bite of the final truffle. This employee was so taken aback that she tried to deflect the OP's question in a few different ways, but the OP wasn't taking no for an answer. Company safety matters should be taken seriously — guidelines are in place for a reason. Well, apparently my coworkers are not the only ones in need of a visual reminder. Don't worry, nothing terrible happened. I mean, he got fired, but he is not a pile of mush. That's a win in my book.

Well, another worker got involved when he saw the stupidity for himself, and instead of thanking the dude, the employee went all 'MIND YOUR MANNERS', which led to malicious compliance, which led to… well, have a look for yourself. 'I can smell it on you': Karen coworker falsely accuses employee of vaping in the bathroom, tries to get him fired

When your Karen coworker has it out for you, you have to watch your back. That's certainly what this employee learned after the bully he works with falsely accused him of vaping in the bathroom, when in reality, he was taking a longer time than usual due to a bodily health issue. This Reddit thread was posted by u/eli_still_exists, who works at a center for children with developmental disabilities where there is a strict 'no smoking' policy.

 

The story, unfortunately, gets worse from here on out. Karen reported the Redditor to their supervisor, who went ahead and fully searched him (only to find nothing, of course). Still, however, the supervisor gave the Redditor a warning. We agree with the folks in the comments section who suggested that the employee file a complaint against Karen. While the OP cared about his clients, new management entered the picture, and they began cutting costs. Due to age discrimination, the OP was forced out of his job, and even had to train his replacement. But by following his company's rules to the letter, he ended up having the last laugh.

The thing is, this is her last two weeks and she is over it. So she has zero efforts left to give. 

You better believe the internet whole-heartedly supports the decision to spot putting in any kind of effort for those toxic managers. She already gave the courtesy of a 2-weeks notice, if they are going to continue to disrespect her to the very last minute of her working there, then she should just stop working.

The employees thought it was weird that upper management would want employees to go through so much just for some 'training', but this Karen insisted that there was no remote training available.

She was very much lying, as it turns out. The employee who was really getting the worst of her behavior had decided she was gonna quit. Who would want to stay in that kind of toxic environment? She had a newborn to think about as well, so it was a pretty clear 'Nope, I'm out' for her. But before doing so, she decided to dig a bit… finding out quickly that it was all a fabrication, she did what she had to do.

'No point asking you anything else': Rude hiring manager makes interviewee cry after second interview

This person is scared to interview again after this terrible experience with an insensitive hiring manager. This unfortunate job seeker took to r/recruitingh*ll to share their awful experience and vent about their frustrations with the interview process. 

As u/ThatFaithlessness101 wrote, they had a second interview with a company. It was entry level, and they also stated in the job requirements that you didn't have to be familiar with anything related to the job before joining the company. So that's why it was all the more baffling when the OP was asked a question they didn't know the answer to. Instead of asking another question to determine if the OP was right for the job, the manager dismissed them pretty rudely. 

As one person mentioned in the comments, this manager might have already interviewed a dozen people that day, and was possibly already sure they weren't going to hire the OP. That sucks for the OP, but it's still no excuse for rudeness on the manager's part. 

Next, this woman is so confused why her SIL is mad that she didn't make enough accommodations for her niece…is she in the wrong?

Wherever there are parking spaces or driveways… there are bound to be neighbors feuding over them. It's just one of those territorial behaviors that have been ingrained in us since the monkey times… Monkey get big cube of metal. Monkey need place to keep big cube of metal. Other monkey move their cube of metal. Monkey take other monkey's metal cube keeping place. Other monkey mad.

This story plays out time and time again, with an irrational neighbor insisting on parking in another (slightly less irrational) neighbor's space. This hatred will simmer like a soup in summer until it finally boils over into a meltdown of rage. 

That's what happened when this "nosey and judgemental" neighbor made a point of blocking this single mother's driveway after stealing her children's ball. After the neighbor claimed that she "had a right to park wherever she wanted" things escalated, and the police got involved. The neighbor is now demanding an apology and the mother is wondering if she is in the wrong for calling the police.

'Your SIL is an entitled parent': Party host gets yelled at by her SIL over food choices

Planning and hosting a kid's birthday party is stressful enough, but this woman's entitled sister-in-law made it so much worse. This OP shared her story with the internet, since she was seeking helpful opinions on whether or not she was the jerk in this situation. 

As the OP, u/haley××2 wrote, she was planning a birthday party for her kiddo, age 8, and inviting a bunch of people over. The OP invited her sister in law and niece, age 6, to the party as well. Since her niece has several allergies, plus can't have gluten or dairy, she catered a meal specially for her. But that didn't stop the little girl from throwing a tantrum when she couldn't have the food that everyone else was eating at the party, and that's when the real drama began. 

Her SIL was furious that the OP didn't make literally every food to fit with her kid's dietary needs. But, of course, "My daughter doesn't have allergies. This party was for her," the OP wrote. 

Next, this teen wanted people to weigh in on whether or not he was a mansplainer… and people in the comments agreed that he wasn't!
