Manager Forces Employee to Change Schedule, Immediately Rues Own Decision

Redditor, u/MisterBowTies, shared this story to the r/maliciouscompliance subreddit this week.

When they were working for a physical media chain, they were brought on board to help at a new location. This meant that they were still hiring all roles, so the District Manager hired u/MisterBowTies since the position of his direct report was still vacant.

The District Manager hired u/MisterBowTies with the mutual understanding that he would have a narrow window of availability. But that narrow window would comprise the worst shifts in retail which are, consequently, the hardest to fill.

I used to manage retail and can tell you from experience that finding someone willing to work both weekend days and close regularly is like finding a unicorn. Particularly with the weekend days. Most positions are required to work one weekend day but finding someone who can work both is impossible. Filling these roles with part-time labor is essential when experiencing high trade volumes these days.

The trouble began when u/MisterBowTies' manager was hired on. She began to take issue with the fact that he had already predetermined his schedule with the district manager.

The issue wasn't the schedule itself. It was the fact that she couldn't control it.

She HATED the fact that I had a set schedule, not because I was needed at other times, I was working the least desirable shifts, it was because she didn't control it.

This would all come to a head when she tried to exercise her power over u/MisterBowTies by unnecessarily changing his schedule to one that was less profitable for the business.

Funny Tweets To Help Forget About Everything For A Second

Welcome to the future. We had a choice of two paths. One was a world of flying cars and free insulin. The other was a world with lightning fast, near instant communication and interconnectivity. A network of interconnected pipes that turned information into electricity and then back into consumable text. An "Inter-net" if you will. An inter-net that can send mail completely electronically. Like some kind of e-mail.

We chose the latter. And yeah, we might still be driving the same cars we were 20 years ago. And lifesaving medications that cost pennies to produce are being sold at wildly inflated rates for no benefit to most people, and also putting people on the street. Streets we wouldn't need if our cars could fly.  But the internet lets us complain about all of these things at lightning fast speed. So that's something.

Well, if you wanted to forget about all that stuff, here are some funny things people observed about the world, all funneled through this confusing cyber web, this mystifying "inter-net."

Here are some funny tweets to viciously unleash upon boredom.

People Share The Things That Their Spouse Does Not Know About

Open communication and honesty are important to any romantic partnership. That sounds overly simple and obvious, but sometimes it's hard to tell a person how you feel, especially when it's inconvenient. Now lies? Lies are the stitches that hold the Frankenstein of a relationship together. So like, that will work too. If you want a relationship that is so misshapen and unnatural that it staggers around while getting chased by pitchfork-wielding bumpkins, you can lie to your spouse for as long as you want. It'll be a cursed façade of the real thing, much like Frankenstein's monster, but it will "work."

At the same time, being completely brutally honest with people all the time can be tedious, boring, and at times mean. People like surprises, and a certain amount of careful dishonesty can be important if you want to make something exciting for someone. The right amount of lying lets people live their fantasy, which is sort of what you want for your loved ones.

And sometimes when it comes to not knowing things, people are simply willfully ignorant. Even when it comes to junk like "I didn't know that the thermostat costs money." That's frustrating.

If you're prepared to lie to your partner about something trivial, make sure it never gets found out, like this guy who lied to his wife about gummy flavors for 13 years until she found out.

Satisfying And Comfortable Images Of Things Fitting Perfectly

What can we say? It's nice when things line up. Neatness and tidiness are virtues that often get overlooked, and the satisfaction we get when viewing a perfect fit makes us feel complete. Maybe the allure of things fitting makes us think that there's order in the universe. Like it's a reminder that certain things were actually meant to be. For a moment, a mattress perfectly eclipsing a door frame makes us believe that everything might actually work out. It's a visual representation of completeness and control.

Maybe it's unhealthy to derive a sense of satisfaction from looking at a lemon in a cup. Or maybe it's just us being in the moment. Either way, boy is that lemon really fitting in that cup. Oh yeah, baby that's some sweet lemon-on-cup action.

Some of us don't care when things line up like this. Those people are wrong. And they probably need to clean their kitchen.

For some more visual satisfaction, here are handsomely satisfying images of aesthetic perfection.

His current lease is about to end and his righteous journey to help better the lives of renters is now about to make him homeless.

Boss Demands Note After Pregnant Woman Misses One Day, Doctor Writes Note For Two Weeks

Redditor u/NeekaNou shared this story recently to r/MaliciousCompliance.

u/NeekaNou has been facing some backlash from her employer surrounding the effects of her pregnancy. They seem to be less-than-thrilled with her entirely valid reasons for having to miss some days of work.

On top of this, u/NeekaNou has a permanent disability. A disability that she has been receiving government support for. This disability also affects her pregnancy, and she needs to ensure that the disability does not impact the pregnancy through some special treatment.

When u/NeekaNou missed a day of work, amidst escalating hostility, she returned to find her employer demanding that she get a note from her doctor excusing the absence. u/NeekaNou returned for the note and her doctor took pity on her. She instead gave u/NeekaNou two weeks off which sent the employer into a fury.

u/NeekaNou provided an edit regarding her bosses reaction:

"Edit: for those who believe she may be concerned for my health. For the last few months, my work environment has been gradually becoming more and more hostile. A specific example is where she ripped me to pieces for not completing a piece of work that wasn't even due yet. I manage my workload based on due dates. It was not due for another week and I had not been given any notice that the due date had changed. At this point, it has become a regular occurrence where I'm sitting at my computer crying. She may have been concerned for me but I find that difficult to believe with how I've been treated the last few months.

It's pretty clear to me that the employer is not concerned for her health. Everything about this screams abuse of power.

Honest Descriptions of Airline Staff Are As Enlightening As They Are Cynical

Any job has a complex cast of characters who are too well aware of how they're being screwed over. It doesn't really matter the place. It could be a restaurant, shoe store, marketing firm or cancer research institute. Just about anywhere, there are jaded coworkers who not only had to work hard to get to where they are, and work hard every day, but are also simultaneously treated like garbage. It feels like something that shouldn't be a thing in a functioning society, but hey, where would progress be if we weren't constantly discontent with everything around us? At least that's the nice way of looking at it.

Airports are stressful, yet boring places with lots of rules. And that's just if you're a customer. Working in a liminal space must be an even weirder concept to wrap your head around. That's why some insight is a nice thing. And sometimes it takes a disgruntled airline worker to point those things out. So here are some observations of your friendly neighborhood cheap airline.

Karen Airbnb Guest Accosts Random Neighbor, Demands They Let Her Inside

There's nothing more bewildering than being accosted by a random person on the street. There you are, just chilling in your own little world. Suddenly the sky darkens, and hellfire and fury are rained down upon you. Depending on the circumstance, this can be pretty entertaining but, even in the best of circumstances, it's going to be incredibly tense.

Cortisol is pumping;  the heart is racing. The whole body is prepped and alert for any outcome.

Indeed that must have been what u/JohnDodger felt when confronted by this bestial Karen, who was seeing red from her own wild stupidity.

Stepping out of his house, he was confronted with Karen's savage fury. He made the foolish mistake of attempting to reason with it, but it wasn't very effective.

Probably around the point where she called me "lazy" for not letting her into my neighbor's house would have been where I would lose myself in uncontrollable laughter.

Some say that this Karen is still waiting to get into her Airbnb to this day.

Moments That People Realized They Had Screwed Up

Many of us have had what what 00s teen comedies would describe as "a record scratch moment." A certain moment directly as something is going wrong in which time stops and you think: "how exactly did I get here? I think I might have screwed up." Record scratch moments can happen in just about any instance of mistakery, be it when you drive up to your house only to find it burned down, when you are actively being electrocuted, or when you go to the bathroom and slowly realize that the burning and itching is only getting worse.

Even after the problem is solved or runs its course, it's impossible to forget that moment of realization. And there are only two benefits to having these memories. The first being that we have a better idea of how to not make the same mistake again, and the second being "at least it's a decent story."

So here are the stories of times people found themselves in a terrible job interview, breaking the law in front of a cop, or hearing an explosion and thinking "man, I have definitely just screwed up."

For some more goofs and foibles, here are times the universe messed with one person exclusively.

Rich Connected Girlfriend Doesn't Understand She Isn't 100% Responsible For Her Own Success

It's hard enough knowing that the playing field is unfair. But when the people who are born with every single advantage can't even acknowledge that they didn't do it all on their own, that's just a slap in the face to the rest of us. This woman had her judge father get her into Harvard, got her an opportunity in her field, and has the audacity to wonder out loud why other people would "choose" to have worse jobs. Sounds like a bit of a relationship deal breaker, unless of course you're playing the long game and plan on Parasite-ing your whole family into her family.

Upon being told that she might have had some help along the way, princess here went and had a meltdown. If you are the type of person who, upon hearing basic facts about yourself, "has your self-conception decimated," it might not be everyone else's fault that you feel bad. Good grief.

At least this might be the first step toward some kind of personal growth. Being upset by reality is the first step to maybe, I dunno, being a better person? The thing is, she took it pretty hard. If it's like any other challenge she's had along the way, don't worry, maybe her dad can help.

But this time, the internet was the judge.

Girl Breaks Babysitter's Glasses, Dad Won't Replace Them

Can we open this one up by all agreeing that we should take responsibility for our actions? By extension, we should also take responsibility for the actions of those we are guardians of.

Suppose my kid keys your car because you reversed into mine. Well, maybe you should have taken responsibility for hitting my car when it was parked in front of my house. Perhaps I, too, should take responsibility for my kid's actions.

Accidents happen, but you're still accountable for an action you are at fault for. That's just how society works.

With all of this in mind… It is plain as day that u/EricThrow3976 should be paying for replacing the babysitter's glasses. It doesn't matter whether or not it was an accident on the part of your daughter. One of your children broke them when she was working for you. You're responsible. If I'm the babysitter's parent, I'm coming over and getting that money from you, be it in cash in hand or small claims court.

After you're done passing judgment here… Check out this mother who allowed her boyfriend to punish her teenage son when he wanted to go to his job instead of babysitting the boyfriend's children.

Awful Coworker Ruins Nurse's Prospects, She Returns the Favor

A petty nursing student did everything she could to force her colleague out of her position—using everything in her toolkit to make the colleague's life a living hell.

What do you do when you are faced with such a situation? It is often best to take the high road, and that should always be the path you first tread. Sometimes that's not an option. You're forced into the thick of it and have to get down in the dirt along with them. Should you emerge from the fray, you'll do so in mud and welts. There's no victory here. It's a race to the bottom.

This is the path that u/stacer12, an aspiring nurse anesthetist, had to take when her adversary left her no other option. After being forced to move hospitals just to escape the onslaught of drama u/stacer12 utilized her knowledge of her adversary's less-than-honest educational practices to take her down.

For more, check out this guy who got revenge on his coworker for constantly calling out his mistakes to his boss.

Karen Neighbor Reports Damaged Fence, Guy Removes Fence Entirely

When a windstorm damaged a fence between two neighbors, the insurance company was forestalling the repairs, preferring to wait until the spring to undertake them. That wasn't good enough for the Karen living on one side of the fence. She reported the damaged fence to the authorities to expedite the repair.

As is often the case, Karen had a hidden agenda. She thought that the only option would be to rush the repairs, but she didn't realize that there was a second option that would ensure that she was the one who ended up replacing the fence.

This all happened to u/NotGayRyan's friend in what became a battle between the friend and their neighbor, Karen. Without even so much as a "Screw you." Karen went straight to the city to report the damaged fence in order to force its repair. Her personal, vested, interest was that she had a pool that was required to be fenced in. That set up the opportunity for this glorious malicious compliance.

For more tumultuous troubles with terrible neighbors… Check out this HOA Karen who towed a guy's car without grounds, opening her up for a massive lawsuit.

Things That Look Like Other Stuff

We should not get as excited as we do when we see an eggplant that looks like a dude's face. But we do. We do so hard.

Maybe it's because people really want to believe that the things around them have thoughts and feelings. Like the ability to talk to your eggplant and ask it how its doing is something we still pine for. But until the day that science invents an eggplant that doesn't feel excruciating pain when sliced into pieces, covered in parmesan and baked at 350 degrees, we'll have to settle on our eggplants being quizzically silent.

Or maybe the reason we see faces in things is because we're constantly looking for predators, and it's evolutionarily better for us to freak out when we see a bag that looks like a tiger, just to have our bases covered.

Whatever the reason, it's nice to imagine for a second that the inanimate objects we interact with on a daily basis have something nice to say. Or maybe they'd be mean. Only one way to find out, science.

Here are some moreinanimate objects with a whole lot of personality.

Infuriated Dock Karen Upset She Can't Rent Stranger's Boat, Gets Covered In Burrito

Now that's some deep, salty Karen behavior.

Here we have a traveler minding his own business when he stumbled upon a Karen in mid tirade. It started when Karen thought she could rent a random boat on the docks. She then got upset because, to her surprise, dudes who work on docks in Mexico aren't guaranteed to speak fluent English, nor are they required to cater to the desires of some random mad lady.

This fellow American came onto the scene, where he was then mistaken as some kind of authority by our wild Karen. Things spiraled out of control after that, but let's just say there's a reason the main character in this tale is a burrito. Maybe it's because of people like this that Americans aren't exactly seen as the best visitors. Well, at least Karen got some reckoning for her godawful behavior.

For some more obnoxious tales abroad, here's the guy who brought a little bell to a restaurant and said Americans do it all the time.

Worker Stuck Inside Gate Told By Management That They'll Be There Till Morning

If you were ever wondering how much your company and your bosses care about your personal safety and wellbeing when it comes in the way of expenses and company profit, this is a great test.

When u/Zealousideal-Ebb-481 got locked behind a gate at a fast-food joint within a box store they quickly found themselves in a dire situation. We're not pointing fingers here but, supposedly, this is a chain that likes measuring their food in 12-inch increments. As the employees of the box store looked on in entirely unhelpful bewilderment u/Zealousideal-Ebb-481 started going through their options.

They first called their manager who informed them that they were going to be stuck there "At least all night long. If not longer if they can't get the door open in the morning."

This tread popped up on a number of different sources. We have pulled some of the best comments from all of them.

The thread was first posted to r/legaladvice u/Zealousideal-Ebb-481 in the midst of the unfolding drama. From there, it was posted to the workers advocacy groups r/antiwork and r/workreform.

People Share The Weirdest Job Interviews They Partook In

There are a lot of opportunities out there. Most of them are pretty bad. Some of them are strange. Some of them are a good reminder that there's no true standard to any kind of workplace decorum, and some bosses are straight up psychos. Luckily for us, getting that first interview can be a chance to look for those job interview red flags like "everyone is sad here" or "for some reason my hiring manager asked me for 50 bucks ad the contact info of 10 of my friends and family."

Here are some folks who got scared, skeeved or actively reminded that this wasn't a standard interview experience. Some actually ended well, but like everything else, life is a journey. That might be the kindest way of putting it.

Getting a new job can feel like a leap of faith, and it's important to look for signs that you're leaping onto a stable career path. Or at least a place where the boss won't yell at you for leaving at the end of your shift. For some of those jerks, here are satisfying times people quit unreasonable bosses.

14-Year-Old Demands to Be Treated Like an Adult, Mom Obliges

Way back in the early years of the 2000s, a great many of us were little terrors. We would eat, we would sleep, and we would consume copious amounts of mountain dew. That was it. That was being 13-14 years old. And oh man, was it good.

Those nights where we would stay up until 5 am at a sleepover powered by the insane amounts of caffeine provided by the aforementioned beverage.

Those early hours were filled with virtual bliss. Capture the flag on Blood Gulch and, a few years later, Slayer on Lockout and Zanzibar.

The brilliantly brutal Search and Destroy filled many a night when Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released a few years after that.

Those times might have been good but, as early teens, we were not nearly as well functioning as we liked to think we were. I should probably be ashamed to admit to the fact that I didn't really know how to cook or do laundry until I moved out of my parent's house at 18.

Well, u/BuckTheF**kNaked's brother severely overestimated his abilities (as a lot of us would have) when he told his mother to "Stop treating me like a kid." He would soon live to regret those words but would walk away with a valuable lesson in life.

This one is a win for Mom.

"I Didn't Personally Sign the Constitution, So it Does Not Apply to Me": Lawyer On TikTok Reads Iconic Court Transcripts and is Going Viral

"Honestly, your Honor, I'm curious to see where opposing counsel takes this—let it ride." These are actual real life things people said in a court, read in vocal fry by a real life lawyer.

Company Tells Woman She is Replaceable, She Starts Her Own Business and Makes Them the Replaceable Ones

The classic "You are replaceable." power play. It has to be one of the oldest tricks in the book. In fact, I'm willing to bet that if we consulted that 3,200-year-old Egyptian attendance list it would probably have some glyphs somewhere on it describing that, "Ramses the stone shaper asked for a raise today, I told him he was replaceable." Even if the supervisor knew full bloody well that nobody could shape a stone like Ramses could.

It might be a tale as old as time but, sadly, a lot of companies would rather cut their nose to spite one's face. They will go full nuclear and lose one of their best performers just to avoid having to pay one of their employees a living wage.

Have you ever been told this by an employer?

Well, u/anon-cant-quit has and she made them eat their words for breakfast, lunch AND dinner.

Using her spouse's business savvy and her knowledge of the business's operations she was able to successfully relieve her terrible boss of his clients and prove that he was t he replaceable one.

Boyfriend Brings Little Bell To Restaurant, Says Fellow Americans Do It All The Time

So this lady's been dating an American guy for a few months, and he decides to test out his terrific, brand new way to get the attention of waitstaff at a restaurant. That idea? Bringing a little tiny bell to ring every time he wants attention. Upon scrutiny, he reassures her that no, having a little bell to ring at your server is completely normal in the U.S. and is totally fine.

If any Americans want to chime in and corroborate this absolutely stupid method, then by all means go for it so the rest of us can call you an obnoxious jackass just like this guy. No one brings little bells to try and train the waitstaff like you are Pavlov trying to get your dogs to bring you free bread. What a dork.

Of course basically everyone gets why this behavior isn't standard, but we all know some folks who truly wish it would be this way, and we regret that some of them make it out of the country or really, even out of their house. This might be even more demeaning than having a customer snap for your attention. Here are some obnoxious things done by American tourists.

Science Facts That Show The Terrifying Scope Of The Universe

It's important to, at least every once in a while, reflect on the nature of one's own existence. Not just in terms of "today I am being mindful and manifesting getting the good parking spot" but more broadly than that. Thoughts like "isn't it wild that there are elements in my own body that were forged in the heart of a star? Billions of years of particles crashing into each other has culminated in me, a being that can think and feel and most importantly, fret over parking?"

Frankly, it's weird to acknowledge the fact that, galactically speaking, you're nothing more than a figment of a cosmic blip. That everything you know and love is so catastrophically small, it would be foolish to think that you are worthy of note. That your finely crafted opinions and excellent sense of taste even matter for a second.

And we can have these thoughts in one moment and acknowledge the universe and its leviathan authority, it's dizzying scale whose sheer size eclipses even the biggest moments of our lives, but in the very next moment we can also choose to say "nah man, I'm gonna go get a burrito." It's kind of a beautiful thing.

If you want to spend some more time freaking out about it all, here are some more science facts to ponder.

Insane Company Suspends Worker For Not Participating in “Mandatory” Company TikTok

Nothing is better for worker morale than mandatory fun. There's just something about being forced to wear a smile and laugh for company dollars while your mind internally reflects the picturesque wonderment of a post-apocalyptic  wasteland.

There's just something in the artful construction of the phrase "company social event" that just really gets my motor humming.

You want me to do what? Maintain my carefully crafted workplace persona after hours AND socialize? I can hardly manage to maintain this facade for the 8 work hours in a day as it is. I'm crumbling mentally and really don't want to be here any longer than I have to. Please god just let me go home.

Really, what I'm saying, is that there's a little bit of Nate in all of us. Not all of us are ready or willing to put our jobs on the line to say so, but at a certain point enough is enough.

When you're earning bottom dollar, and coping with terrible leadership, you too might find yourself one mandatory TikTok away from drawing the line in the sand like Nate.

Minecraft Player Reveals Their Most Vile, Underhanded Act

Videogames will let you do some pretty fantastically heinous things. Hell, without even thinking about it, we've destroyed entire civilizations of bug-men, beat up our closest friends, and driven busses down crowded sidewalks with reckless abandon. But that's all in-game. Very few things you can do in a video game will ever actually affect a real-life person, and that's for the best.

This person answered the question "What is the most messed up thing you have ever done in any video game?" and while one would think that the scope was limited to trapping Sims in their own burning houses or not petting the dog in Fallout, this person actually came up with something that makes us lose our faith in humanity. And that's hard to do man, we didn't realize that we had a whole lot of that left.

People spend a whole lot of time on video games, and one way to truly affect someone through a videogame is to attack their time. Which is, in a sense, what this person did. They are not the good guy in this story.

For some more not great behavior, here are the stories of how people got banned from places.

A 3,200-Year-Old Attendance Record Has Been Making Rounds of the Internet and You’d Be Fired For Missing Work For These Reasons Today

This fascinating archeological artifact has been circulating the internet recently. Popping up in a multitude of sources.

It is a limestone etching dating back to 1250 BC that, as the reddit post below describes, is a workplace attendance record that also contains a myriad of somewhat comical excuses.

Of course, the internet has been having a field day with this. It's amazing to think that, after so much time, we still share things like this in common with our ancestors.

If you do call out of work for brewing beer, please let us know how that works out for you.

The artifact is currently housed at the British Museum, posted with the following description:

"

Description
Ostracon with register of attendance at work. Labelled 'Year 40' of Ramses II, it provides a workmen's register for 280 days of the year. There are twenty-four lines of New Egyptian hieratic on the front and twenty-one lines on the back. A list of forty names is arranged in columns on the right edge of each side, followed to the left by dates written in black ina horizontal line. Above most dates is a word or phrase in red, indicating the reason why this individual was absent from work on that date."

Dude Live Tweets His Foray Into Creepy Liminal Space

This one might strike a chord with anyone who's ever found themselves exploring an abandoned area, or at least on that's just "not in use." It can get eerie very fast.

Liminal spaces are technically described as "a space between two spaces." So think like "areas between two states of being" like hallways and airports. That said the term has been used to describe areas that don't exist for their own purpose, and more broadly just very creepy, often empty zones of foggy understanding. In this case, a dude found himself wandering the backrooms of a hotel, but it comes off way creepier than that should be.

Maybe it's the quizzically pointless stacks of chairs and strangely airy zones with no people, but this all has the vibe of a level of a video game where something has just gone wrong or is about to go wrong. @Yearoutwilliam takes us on a journey through the back, into a space that feels almost adjacent to reality. Fun.

Manufacturing Line Worker Flips the Script on Supervisor

There's something odd that occasionally happens when someone is promoted off the floor into a management position… Despite having walked the walk themselves and despite knowing exactly how everything operates from a line perspective, they lose their grip on reality and start acting exactly like the big brass above them. Making the exact same mistakes that come along with that.

We can typically chalk this odd behavior up to the new world and new pressures they find themselves in. They've never been in a management position before so they model off of the nearest example. I can tell you from experience that they are also being directly told how they should think and act. "You're in charge now. It's time to stop acting like those vermin who used to be your peers."

As time passes the more impressionable will become indistinguishable from their bosses and the stronger willed will find themselves replaced or in the crosshairs for not "Seeing things from a business perspective."

Those who survive by morphing into their bosses will start acting like decisions, that the line knows aren't going to work, are a good ideas. When they fail spectacularly they're as quick as upper management to either pretend that it never happened or find slime

Luckily, in this case, u/cranknation93 was able to protect themselves with process. When he asked his supervisor to sign their own name to their orders, they balked hard, knowing that they weren't going to be able to blame it on anyone else down the line.

Cruel Mother Allows Boyfriend to Punish Her 16-Year-Old Son, Forces Him to Babysit Boyfriends Kids When He’s Supposed to Be at Work

When I was growing up my parents were certain to ensure that I learned valuable lessons about what it meant to work a job and make money with your own time and hard work.

So, the summer after I turned 16 I had to have a job. I got a job working at the local baseball park that was home to a High-A baseball team.

For those who don't know what that means, that means that it was three steps down from the major leagues. Players would first have to prove themselves in A, then double AA and finally AAA before they made it to the big times.

It was a great job. Probably just as good as any 16 year old could ask for. The other lads and I ran a BBQ grill area that was usually rented out for corporate events before the games.

That meant an endless supply of fresh tasty burgers and brats (which were often leftover in copious quantities.) for the entire summer. And, if we were quick with the pack down, we could often catch the game on from the bottom of the second inning.

Cash was in hand. My parents probably would have preferred that it made it to my savings account but the reality is that it seldom did. After all, what were savings when there were Oakleys and video games to buy. Plus I had hefty monthly payments to consider. My World of Warcraft account wasn't going to pay for itself

Looking back, I was fortunate and privileged in the fact that my earnings didn't have to go back into supporting the family at that point of my life. For that reason and several others, I don't think that I ever quite caught the lesson that my parents were trying to teach.

To this day shiny things often catch a paycheck before it makes it into my savings. (The shiny new glowing mechanical keyboard that I'm typing this on now is a testament to that fact.) But those building blocks my parents provided me were important to me becoming the (relatively) well adjusted and (relatively) functioning adult I am today.

_

The point is… What I'm trying to say… The whole reason for that drawn out soliloquy… is that the kid has a job. He seems to, at the age of 16, have a firm grasp on how important it is that he is at that job. That is a lesson most parents wish their kids would learn.

Your shy boyfriend then punishes him for wanting to go to that job instead of watching his shy children. (Who your son has no obligation to baby sit.) What do you think that whole thing teaches your son?

Then you, his mother, come along and reinforce that lesson.

Nicely done. Great work. Good parenting.

From that it should be easy to extrapolate an answer.

Woman Dedicates Her Entire TikTok Account to Calling Out Her Creepy Karen Neighbor Controversy

The woman says she started the account to help her keep record of everything her crazy Karen neighbor is putting her family through. Now, her TikTok viewers are heavily invested in the dramatic saga.

Manchild Eats Wife's Photoshoot, Wonders Why She's Mad

So this guy's wife makes elaborate meals and takes pictures of them. If it's her job, then great. If it's her hobby, people have worse hobbies.

This dude had enough of waiting to eat, so he decided the best course of action would be to eat all of his wife's work while she was staging it, thus, making her work for the day null and void. She got angry, and now he's confused as to why that would be.

Honestly it sounds more like he's trying to push the blame on her by trying to "say his case" to the internet. That seems to have backfired, and pretty much every single comment is some description of how selfish, immature and childish this dude clearly is.

The sad reality is that people like this aren't exactly good at learning. If this person's story is legit, it's unlikely that he'll actually change the way he thinks based on the overwhelming feedback. And he'll probably come away from this thinking that 99.9% of people must be wrong, because obviously he feels a certain way about this and his feelings must be right because he is the one having them.

But man it's pretty funny to watch all these people call this guy a child.

For another entitled act of childishness, here's the mom who bullied kids off of a playground and wondered if she was in the wrong.
