Inanimate Objects that Look Like Other Stuff

Why do we get joy out of seeing things in other things? Is it because we want to imagine we're surrounded by friendly objects? Is it because it's like a fun visual puzzle? Maybe it's because we're just wired to see faces? It's very apparent in these inanimate objects with a whole lot of personality.

Tumblr Thread: Girl's Boyfriend Cheats On Her, Lads Assemble, Chaotic Good Ensues

This is definitely one of those wild Tumblr tales that we really hope is real. We have a rotten old cheater who pretty much makes his girlfriend's life completely miserable. Fortunately, her friends were ready to assemble like some real life Avengers, and ultimately save the day. Check out some more gold from Tumblr with this thread where Tumblr goes full on mythological scientist mode.

1.

Terrestrial plant - throwtime Follow I'm about to have a fun afternoon. So my trainer's bf cheated on her. She broke up with him. He's holding her stuff hostage until she agrees to talk with him. Which she refuses. She trains; for free mind you; three college linebackers, a college wrestler, two martial artists, a body builder, and... wait for it.... a Navy seal. We're gonna go get her shit for her. This should make for an interesting story.

2.

Font - throwtime Follow So everyone who commented on this being like the avengers, you are absolutely right. That's what all of us had in our heads as we were rolling over to dude's house. But I'm very proud to say, this ended without violence. Arrival:

3.

Font - So the super friends all jumped into one of the linebacker's explorer and headed over to dude's house. Ok the squad: you all know me, but the other martial artist is a little wirey hapkido guy, the linebackers are all giants (an estimated combined weight of l'd say 750-800lbs), the wrestler looks like an escaped gorilla, then the navy seal looks like your average guy but something about him is unsettling. Really unsettling. Unfortunately, the body builder had to work. Anyway, we send the

4.

Font - in their face. Then the giant linebackers head over and they ring the door bell again. Lo and behold, he was much more polite, but still denied access. Finally, me and the seal join the fray. I casually make my way towards the front of the group, but the seal decides to CLIMB THE BANISTER. We all just turned and started at him completely shocked when dude answers the door. He looks at this weird mismatched group of relatively threatening individuals and one guy perched on his banister lik

5.

Terrestrial plant - So we're all walking through the house gathering what we think are her things and putting them into two boxes. Mind you. We are completely guessing. We didn't even tell her we were coming, therefore we had no list of items. The only one really being productive was Hapkido, who was legitimately looking for stuff. The linebackers were just randomly picking up furniture, turning it over, and putting it back down. Just showing off how strong they were. In case the numbers game was

6.

Font - to. The seal was just shadowing dude in his own house. Walking behind him, not saying much, just being creepy. Then there's me. Who was causing general mischief.... He said to take what was looking for, that's what I was looking for. Ahaha and the wrestler made a fricken sandwich. Because “you guys look like you have it under control, and I'm a sucker for egg salad." We were in and out in 15 minutes. Delivery:

7.

Terrestrial plant - So the autobots rolled out and headed towards homegirl's spot. She was conveniently outside when we rolled up. We got out and she was like, how do you all even know each other. The truth is, we don't. She sent us all an email once and didn't blind copy us all. She vented to all of us about dude holding onto her stuff and we started emailing and that was that. We told her that we went to see her ex. “OMG what did you say to him?" Nothing. We're not messenger boys. We're delive

8.

Font - all that shit." So I explained that I took all the batteries out of his remote controls, his deodorant, the light bulb out of his master closet, every pair of dress socks that I could find, the laces out of his running shoes, and all the toilet paper in the house. The guys just looked at me and kind of nodded like they were impressed. She then unexpectedly started CRYING and thanked us. So you have this group of meat heads all standing awkwardly with this weeping trainer. It was quiet for

Dude Gets Free Website, Furious He Still Has to Pay for Hosting

In a true display of entitled folks with their outlandish demands, here's a dude who had a website made for him for free, but was absolutely livid the deal didn't come with free hosting for life. Stuff like this just makes you realize that however low you set the bar, someone will take it upon themselves to smash through it on their way further down. It's hard to avoid guffawing at the spectacle of these Entitled folks and their bold demands.

Driver Jams Seatbelt In Car Door, Doesn't Realize Car Door Is Locked

Honestly, the embarrassment should fall on the mechanics a bit too. It seems like most everyone involved in the hilarious conundrum of a car door that got jammed up with a seatbelt was confused. Our brains are funny like that though. Sometimes we get so caught up in aggressively trying to figure out the solution to a problem that we end up overlooking the glaringly obvious.

The seatbelt had jammed in such a way that the metal piece of the belt that clicks in was wedged between the car exterior and the door. I tried to open the door to get it out and it wouldn't open. I drove to work without a seatbelt and when I got there I had to climb over the console and out the pa

2.

Font - When I got off work I tried to open from the outside to get in and still no luck. Once again I opened the passenger door and climbed into the driver's seat. I drove my car to the dealership the next day and pulled up to the service station. I rolled down my window and told the mechanics what happened. The guys all had a good laugh and told me they've never seen something like this before. They all tried to pull it open and couldn't. They told me that I could set up an appointment and they

3.

Font - I took my car to another shop that specializes in welding and odd jobs. I get up to the shop and a guy walks out to talk to me. I roll down my window to tell him what happened. He looks at my door in silence for about ten seconds then puts his arm through the window. He hits the unlock button and grabs the door handle and pulls. The door opens. We look at each other and I'm completely dumbfounded. I think he couldn't believe what he just witnessed. I get the hell out of there as fast I ca

4.

Facial expression - TL;DR I jammed my seatbelt in the car door. I couldn't get the door to open. I took my car to a few mechanics and got quotes for tearing off and replacing the door. The last mechanic realized that my door was locked and had nothing to do with the seatbelt being jammed. 4 20.4k 3 536 ↑, Share

The Worst Business Practices People Have Seen

Interacting with a dysfunctional institution is an interesting thing. To see something so big not work correctly is a sight to behold. Whether it's working at a place that inspires a "screw this i'm out" moment, or somewhere that's so bad up front that you get a real red flag interview, or just being a customer at a place so unprofessional it's shocking, we can pretty safely assume that it's better to spend your time in businesses that actually function.

Student Misses Appointment By Seconds, Dumb Loophole Works

Navigating a bureaucracy can be stressful and brimming with pointlessness, especially when dealing with someone who's in a position to make dubious claims about databases and such. Seeing a stupid opportunity, this person used the rules to get themselves in the door. Here are some more great, stupid loopholes that worked.

1.

Font - O r/MaliciousCompliance - Posted by u/theoryofrelativetea 2 days ago A 3 & 00 19 17 3 21 O 810 My appointment was cancelled for being 5 minutes late? I guess I have to reschedule. oc M This happened about 4 years ago, when I got a summer job at my university. The job was working for professors that I had worked with before, and they asked me last-minute to teach a summer workshop to 9th and 10th graders.

2.

Font - So with less than 2 weeks before the camp starts I have a bunch of paperwork to do first, including "clearances" that say I can work with kids. One of these is an official FBI check for which they need my fingerprints. Well, I needed to do the physical fingerprinting right away in order to get the result in time - luckily I was able to book a fingerprinting appointment for that Friday (booked 24 hours in advance, as required) which would be just barely enough time to get the result. That

3.

Font - I speak to the security/cop behind bulletproof glass inside and I learn the appt was cancelled after he checks my confirmation number. Apparently the they are automatically cancelled if you're not checked in within 5 minutes. Obviously this is outrageous, but I'm usually a patient guy: I ask if I can book a new appointment. That's no good since it would have to be Monday or later. So I grab a coffee from across the street and return to sit inside the police station, to try and solve this

4.

Font - But here's what really pushed me over the edge. While I'm sitting there, at this point 30 minutes past my appointment time, someone else comes in for fingerprints. She shows up 5 minutes early. They take her in immediately, and she's out BEFORE her appointment was even scheduled to begin. The entire thing took her about 2 minutes. I point out to the cop behind the glass (as politely as I can) that CLEARLY someone could see me RIGHT NOW because her appointment is already over. Why can't I

5.

Font - That's when the idea comes to me and I confirm with him that showing up early is not a problem, because they would have my appt and registration info in the system. You see where I'm going with this. So I quietly sit back down and take out my phone. About 10 minutes later, I calmly approach him again and say "Hello, I have a new appointment to be fingerprinted. I'm about 72 hours early." I have never seen such an exasperated sigh in my life. But he checked my new confirmation number and e
