Dumb Moments of Failure and Stupidity

We're human, and we're never far from mistakes, failures, errors and blunders. Does that mean we learn from our mistakes? Honestly it's hard to tell. There's enough of us out here messing up that it doesn't look like idiocy is going away soon. All we can really do is sit back and enjoy the facepalm moments of mystifying dumbness.

Guy Beats Craigslist Scammer At Their Own Game

Man, these incompetent scammers just keep on coming right out of the woodwork. In this case, it sounds like the scammer was in way over their head from the start. On top of that, they'd clearly overplayed their scam to such a point that it was just going to be too easy to rightfully shut them down. Hence, the payment request and what we'd imagine was a very surprised and displeased scammer.

So I was hunting for a rental house for the valentines day weekend and wasn't finding much, so I popped into the local Craigslist page and found a place at a decent but very believable price. No contact info or website, so T emailed through the Craigslist relay, everything sounds legit up until he asks me to pay using Zelle or

At this point I reverse image search the cabin and find the actual property owner info and call them. He confirmed that he has had this scam happen before and angry people show up expecting a rental that is already legitimately reserved and demanding a refund. I give him the links and info to the fake Craigslist posting so he can re

Text - sounding email regarding how to get the money to him over zelle I send him the request but instead of paying him I sent it as a request for payment. I send a few more messages saying it is not going through and then I get a notification saying a payment has been received. Sure enough he approved my payment request and sent me the money he was trying to get me to send him. So I had over $400 siting in my zelle acount from a guy in Nigeria who was trying to scam me out of my romantic weeken

Worryingly Smart Stunts By People's Pets

Someone on AskReddit got a thread going about the worryingly smart things that people's pets have done. We've all had those strange moments with our pets where they pretty much proved they're aware of a whole lot more than we give them credit for. It's time for that cat or dog to start chipping in on rent.

Text - natephant 15 points · 3 years ago I stayed home from school one day and heard a door open, and close. So I got out of my room to see who was in the house. And my cat was just standing there... yes standing. Then he turns an looks at me, like wtf are you doing home!? Goes back to all fours and bolts out of the room.

He jingles my keys on the wall, he KNOWS that that noise gets that door to open. He's finally managed to unlock the deadbolt with his little paw. If that fucker could turn the doorknob he'd be gone.

All I had to do was give her the grandpa look: tilt my head down, and look over my glasses. She'd drop whatever she was working at, and do something else. It's as if she was a sentient child, calmly trying stuff out and finding my limits. No bratty behaviour, no sneaky sneak, just plain old "this ok? No? Alright t

One of my father's friends comes over to visit, and my dog just presses against me, without making any noise. When the friend was leaving in his motorcycle, my dog bit him in the leg pretty bad. Stitches were needed. A few weeks after the bite, the guy was found with child porn on his computer. TLDR; My dog discovered a pedophile.

I went out on the pond in early winter in Michigan and fell through (I was about 8) so not a great swimmer plus the shock of the cold water froze me.
