Update: 'How I dealt with a one-sided friendship': Woman plans birthday revenge so her friend will reply to her text messages

Sometimes it only takes one little thing to break apart a friendship. It could be something as simple as a text message — or the lack thereof, in this person's case.  One thing you realize the older you get is that it isn't what people say that matters so much as what they do. That whole "actions speak louder than words" sentiment is totally accurate. There are only 24 hours in a day, and if someone makes you a priority, they're taking time from their day to include you in their life. People certainly get super busy and can't answer texts. And who among us hasn't gotten that kind of depression that makes you take 5 days to reply to a message? In adult life, sometimes you really are just so busy that your inbox is overflowing, you have 7 missed calls, and 41 unread messages. It can be a lot to juggle.   But this person shared her annoyance over a chronic texting issue with the woman she believed was her best friend. As she shared to r/pettyrevenge, she realized that she and her best friend were having a rather one-sided friendship. She would message her BFF, and then not hear from her for months.  In a moment of goodwill, the OP, u/peachbunx, decided to get her friend this birthday gift she really wanted. It was a blender, a really nice model that cost $150. Kitchen supplies aren't cheap, and the OP went out of her way in buying such a pricey present. The OP then had a realization about the way her bestie was treating her… and things went south from there.  Check out the story, plus an update, by scrolling below. Next up, these class clowns will keep you giggling with their wild pranks.
