'I was gone for about 30 minutes': Dad gets put in his place for ditching dinner party to take son to McDonald's

Teaching your kids that they're not always going to have everything handed to them when (and how) they want it is an important lesson to share. It helps prepare them for the reality that things aren't always going to be exactly to their liking; different people do things differently and have different ideas about what is "good" and how things should be done, so learning to work with that as early as possible will only make their life easier and ensure that they don't grow up to be a micromanaging supervisor. Even among close friends, one may choose to raise their kids without the typical salty or sugary snacks, and the other—well, the other might decide that eating one healthy meal isn't ok for their kid and will drive off in the middle of a dinner party at the first friend's house to bring forbidden food for their kid to eat in front of their friend's kids. If you're wondering who might be wrong in the situation described above, then your company includes this dad, who rushed off to get his kid a Happy Meal when his friend had the audacity to serve his son freshly cooked salmon and something green. His wife didn't take kindly to this move; embarrassed by his actions, she elected to be angry on behalf of their friends. The dad then posted to a popular online community to see whether or not he was in the wrong for his move, getting resoundingly put in his place by the responses.
