'I told them to kick rocks': Couple leaves scathing one-star reviews after being charged extra $200 for breaking bogus 'occupancy' rules

Ah, the power of the one-star review! Normally on this site, we do not support any Karen-esque behavior in which customers write scathing reviews of local companies for enforcing their policies, but this story is an exception to that rule. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit by u/RushxInfinite, who was staying at a cabin on vacation with his then girlfriend.

There was a long-standing rule that any additional occupants will result in a $200 extra charge. However, the Redditor and his girlfriend only had visitor hang out for a few hours rather than stay overnight. The rule clearly does not apply here based on, I don't know, the definition of occupancy. But the Karen working for the rental company enforced the extra charge anyway, so what did OP, his girlfriend, and their extended group of friends do? They all wrote one-star reviews that collectively brought the online rating for the local rental company significantly down. When they came back to OP to apologize, OP was able to get some nice extra perks.
