'Thank God My Son Dodged a Bullet With You': Entitled Karen sends nasty message to son's ex-girlfriend

The audacity of this woman! It's one thing to be thankful your child is no longer in a relationship with someone. It's another to relay that message to your kid's ex a FULL decade later.

This Facebook message was included in this thread on Reddit's r/entitledparents subreddit by u/PoopfaceMcPooperson, and let's just say that we feel for this person. Especially when she revealed details about how her ex-boyfriend got the two of them in a literal car accident. She also reveals several other dramatic details in the comments section, so keep scrolling to have a look for yourself! Our big takeaway is that when it comes to Karen Mommies, there is no world in which they realistically come to terms with the possibility that it was their child that may have been in the wrong the whole time. On top of that,  there is no world in which they choose to step back and not weigh in. We feel for the Redditor!

'He left without saying a word': Wildly insecure guy ditches fiancé after learning about her past

This dude is just weak! He left his fiancé and fully ghosted her after learning that she was "popular" among the guys once upon a time. It's not like there was any cheating or any truly scandalous event, but that was enough to make this lame guy leave.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/Intelligent_Cup4116, who is the fiancé's sister. She recounted the story from a perspective that also reads as insanely problematic. The fact that there is no evidence of any real wrongdoing besides the fiancé's past "popularity" just goes to show how backward our society is. And say it with me, everyone: if the gender roles were reversed, this would not be happening.

'I told my kids that I was the original Road Runner': 30+ Hilarious anonymous confessions

Let the world know your most secrety secrets, but do it anonymously. This week, we've rounded up the funniest, wildest, and most heartfelt secrets from @fesshole, the Twitter account made just for anonymous confessions.

These secrets are a fascinating window into the lives of random strangers. Some people confess their relationships icks — one person wrote that they might dump their BF, simply because of his habit of eating pizza with a knife and fork. Others are more embarrassing, like a guy who admitted to eat the wax off of cheese, or someone who confessed to snacking on dog food along with their pup. Maybe every person has at least one weird eating habit that they'd never fess up to IRL.

Next, this employee has some things to learn about office politics. They offered their boss some constructive criticism, but did so in a pretty awkward way, in front of their colleagues.

'All right, I've had enough. I quit': Valet employee lets entitled family have it after they blame her for their mess up

One Karen is already a handful, but a family of Karens?!?! It's a wonder how anybody would survive that one their own. It can come in many forms, like a bunch of girlfriends who are also Karens, or a family of Karens where the Karen parents raised their kids to also be parents. It's a hell!sh cycle, but it happens. So how do you survive? One woman on Reddit shared her story of surviving a Karen father and his two Karen daughters.

She was working as a valet driver and they were part of a bridal party. The Bridal party was a large party and they all had parked valet the night before. The thing is, they didn't tell the valet service that they all needed to leave at 8am the next morning. So when a crowd of people came up early in the morning demanding for their car, things got stressful. The valet employees were obviously surprised by this, but they did their best. It was just the redditor, who has a bad hip, and an old man who can't run. So there was no rushing the job, everyone just had to patiently wait. However, there was one family who felt they were entitled to not wait like everyone else…

The father of this entitled Karen family starts yelling at the valet employee, blaming her for all of the issues, even though it was all of the bridal party's fault. The other bridal party people waiting didn't say a word, it was just this Karen dad and eventually, his Karen daughters joining in. They were yelling and berating this employee, so finally she just turns to the dad and lets him have if. She does NOT hold back. She finishes off her rant to him with an epic "I quit" and walked out while the Karen family was still yelling at her. They had to wait even longer now for their car.

Read the entire epic story below.

'She asked for feedback': Employee offers new boss 'open and honest' critique, boss gets upset

Giving feedback is a delicate skill that this person might not have mastered quite yet. This worried employee wrote to r/AmItheA**hole for some much-needed feedback of his own!

As u/Davetherocker wrote, he has had a new boss for only about four months, but she's experienced in the field. However, she's still finding her footing with the team she's managing, though the OP writes he and the team are supporting her as she learns the ropes.

The OP's troubles started during a team meeting. It seems very awkward the way he describes it. He writes that at the group meeting, the boss asked for "feedback on her performance," but all of the team members just praised her without actually giving any real criticisms. Now that he's been extra honest in front of the entire team, he's wondering if he made a mistake.

Next, these food service workers share the funniest things people have ever said to them at the workplace, like one woman who insisted on having vegan deviled eggs.

'I saw red': Cheapskate boss forces shift supervisors to pay for company pizza parties and refuses to tip, shift supervisors pays them in pettily dispensed pennies

Company pizza parties are, at best, a bandage solution for poor employee morale resulting from poor company culture and worker compensation; shelling out $60 for a few pizzas doesn't suddenly erase months of missed breaks, understaffing, unpaid overtime, and other practices that reek of borderline exploitation.

Yet — this is the go-to solution for so many workplaces that insist that their exploited, exhausted workers are "family" — if that's really how you treat your family… are they still speaking to you?

This boss has somehow managed to take the pathetic attempt of morale boosting up (down?) a notch — by making the managers pay out of pocket each time these pitiful events are held. To make matters even worse, the boss refuses to tip the delivery drivers appropriately, leaving the managers to front that too.

Keep scrolling for this ridiculous tale of literal penny-pinching. For more, check out this worker who was berated by their boss after sacrificing their day off to come in and help out the boss's friend.

'You burned a bridge': Man would rather catch up on sleep than babysit his nephew, meanwhile the boy's aunt undergoes treatment in the ICU after a potentially fatal car accident

Some people would do pretty much anything for their family. As Dominic Toretto always said, 'The most important thing in life will always be family". Well, for one Redditor, the most important thing in his life, is sleep. And apparently nothing in this world could threatened to deprive him of his 8 hours– not even the near d3ath experience of a family member.

His brother-in-law, a father of two children, called the sleepy man over Easter weekend desperately asking for a favor. The BIL's sister had been in a potentially fatal car accident and they would need to drive across the state and check in on her, and say their goodbyes, at the hospital over the weekend. Fearing traumatizing their children, they called up Sleepy and asked him if he and his wife could watch them over the weekend. They had never had any issues with babysitting the kids before, but out of the blue, Sleepy refused to help them out in their time of need.

He claimed that he needed to get his sleep cycle on track for working night shifts and watching a couple kids, his niece and nephew, over the weekend simply wasn't going to help him get the rest he needed. Excuse me?

Fuming, the BIL  reminded him that he had said one that 'he would do anything for those kids', but apparently taking care of them for 48hrs when it was literally a life or d3ath situation, was not in that wheelhouse. Although Sleepy works in a steel mill, and his biggest excuse for saying no was because he was going to be working nights, we think that he could have risked a couple of days of sleep discomfort in his SIL and BIL's time of need. What do you think?

Update! '[I] unplugged the Wi-Fi': Husband can't get workaholic wife to take a break, sabotages internet connection, faces backlash online

This guy may have lost his chances at winning Husband of the Year. After repeatedly trying to get his pregnant wife - who is described in this Reddit thread as a workaholic - to take a break for her mental and emotional health, he decided he couldn't wait any longer. So he fully unplugged the Wi-Fi and hid the cord.

You can imagine that his wife's response was not one of gratitude. Thankfully, according to an update below, it seems like they were able to work things out moving forward. Still, even though his intentions were pure, it ultimately didn't matter. There is no way that unplugging the Wi-Fi without any warning would alleviate his wife's stress. In fact, if anything, he rapidly escalated the situation. Sure, she clearly needs to take better care of herself and needs to work toward finding a better work/life balance, but that's something couples should build together. Forcing that balance through conflict is not going to be productive.

For more stories, here's another one about a woman's petty revenge on a former mean girl from high school.

'I put glitter in my friend's laundry': 20+ People share their funniest petty revenge stories

The creativity these people showed while having their own petty revenge moment is so inspiring. When u/trexradar87 asked, "Reddit, what's your best/funniest personal example of petty revenge?," people delivered tons of hilarious stories of pettiness in the workplace, school yard, and more.

These people who wrote their stories in reply to the post are extremely clever with their solutions. The college kid who pranked their friend by putting glitter in his laundry is a perfect example of a harmless prank with a funny outcome. Other people shared the various ways they wanted to mess with their coworkers, and they clearly put a lot of thought into doing what they thought would torment them the most — like changing the speed of their double-click to mess with them.

Next up, this entitled influencer decided to inform this restaurant that because she was a mommy blogger, she'd be dining for free that day.

'I don't wanna be your mommy': Man kicks out gaslighting roommate after he tries to guilt him into cleaning up his dirty dishes

Dirty dishes are the leading cause for roommate breakups. It's not proven or anything, but as anybody who has ever lived with another person knows, the passive aggressive nature of a maintaining a clean home can sometimes lead to horrific strife between you and your housemates. One Redditor recently felt the full force of roomie drama when he received an out-of-the-blue text from his roommate (who is also his older cousin).

After generously offering his home to his cousin, u/ThisNameWillSaveMe realized the error of his ways when the kitchen started falling into disrepair. Although he thought that he and his cousin could cohabit peacefully, he noticed right away that their definition of "clean" was completely different. OP would find his cousin playing hours and hours of Fortnite while getting higher than a kite in the middle of the day as dishes in the sink piled up.

To fight the mountain of dishes (and to avoid being implicated in cleaning any mess that wasn't his), OP started using 1 knife, 1 fork, 1 bowl, and one plate, ensuring that he could contain his mess and keep tabs on his own business. The bad roommate never noticed that OP was using scarce supplies in the kitchen and after months of depravity in the sink, he finally had the audacity to blame the OP for his mess.

He sent a scathing text to him, pointing a finger at the mountain of dirty dishes in the sink and claiming that he wasn't going to 'be his mommy' and clean up after him. Wait what? After living for months on skimped supplies, OP finally snapped and told his older cousin (and charity case) that he was in fact the one creating the mess and do the adult thing and take care of it instead of placing blame on anyone else.

After a voracious battle via text, OP kicked out the dirty-disher, forcing him to move out and find a place of his own. Now OP can finally have a clean sink, a free couch, and peace of mind.

'Have fun with unemployment': Karen coworker fires herself by refusing to do her job

When you have a job, it's usually best to do that job if you want to keep it… Not get embroiled in a war of petty acts against a coworker who wanted no part in that war in the first place. If you choose the latter pathway, you need to be prepared for any consequences that follow.

Redditor u/Peach_Gfuel shared this story to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit about their coworker who insisted on getting revenge on them for a perceived slight. u/Peach_Gfuel had previously worked for the Quality Assurance team that Karen transferred to, a team that was responsible for ensuring that the rest of the company was delivering to the company's standards.

Karen saw her chance to end the one-sided feud once and for all… and using her newfound QA powers she sought to get her nemesis fired, not realizing that this would be her downfall.

Read on for this brilliant tale of a workplace dispute between coworkers. Next, check out this worker who was sick of their "office prankster" coworker.

'Thieves!!!': Doordasher witnesses a customer getting banned from the app after they try to pull a poorly executed scam

As a Doordash delivery driver, you're privy to a very special kind of customer abuse. As the middle man of a much larger money-grabbing scheme, you often get blamed for pretty much everything from all angles. Food is cold? Your fault. Unresponsive to texts while driving? Blamed. Delivered to the address provided but it's somehow the wrong address? Definitely your responsibility

*HUGE EYE ROLL*

…Not only that, but because of the exorbitant fees and ridiculous extravagance of getting food delivered to your house from any restaurant, Doordash users are also notoriously terrible tippers. There's no winning here.

One delivery driver recently witnessed justice take place when a customer tried to blame him for a lost order. As a seasoned delivery man, u/k-kat93 had delivered to this particular customer before– it was particularly memorable because of the cop car parked in the driveway and the soccer mom sticker on the SUV. After a pretty routine drop off, where he took the food straight to the door, took a photo and bounced, Kat received a notification 15 minutes later that the food was never delivered and he was about to get in trouble for it. No way!

Kat didn't want to put his reputation on the line for a lie, so he informed the customer that he'd left the food like he always did at the address provided. They got snippy in their responses to him, so he contacted customer service to handle the problem, hoping to avoid a bad review that might tarnish his star ratings.

After explaining the situation to customer service, Kat waited with dread, expecting a bad review or even a write up from the company… but there was nothing. Eventually he went to go check his DM's with the customer and saw that the entire conversation was unreachable, as if their account no longer existed.

In their attempt to scam Doordash for some free food by blaming the driver, they got themselves banned from the app completely. Justice is a dish delivered cold.

'You are ruining a [baby's] life': Entitled person demands acquaintance change their dog's name so they can use the name for their unborn child

People tend to think they have sole rights to any name they choose. Guarding it with the same vigor that Mickey Mouse's lawyers use to protect his trademarked silhouette (don't even think of attaching three circles to each other for your logo.) It's almost as if people don't realize that their "Emily" is one of the millions, owning to the name being one of the most popular for the last 30 years.

The same goes for any name. Unless you're naming your child something you really shouldn't (ie X Æ A-12), there are likely hundreds of people with the exact same name out there in the world already… and that's just people, not counting the endless amounts of pets out there, all daring to exist with your child's name.

So, being so petty as to demand that your friend's friend change the name of their dog—just so you can claim that name for your child—is laughable at best. Sure, you might be upset if your sister named her kid the same name as your kid. But if the issue is an already named dog connected through a relationship this tenuous and distant, then you haven't got a leg (or four) to stand on.

Anyways, read on for this ridiculous exchange below. For more, check out this entitled person who wanted to buy a friend's service dog and wouldn't take no for an answer.

'Bride went full Gollum': Bride sees stranger knitting in hotel lobby, thinks it's a wedding gift, loses it when she's told otherwise

When you get engaged, there's apparently a high possibility that you come to believe the world has stopped and started revolving entirely around you. This is not true for everyone, but it's certainly true for some folks, especially this bride. She saw a random stranger knitting in the hotel lobby on the weekend of her wedding and straight-up assumed she was knitting a white veil for her big day tomorrow. When the Redditor laughed and politely responded that she wasn't a guest of the wedding and that this veil was simply for herself, the bride completely lost it.

Our hearts not only go out to the Redditor who had to endure this bizarre interaction, but also we're thinking of the mother of the bride, who saw the whole freakout unfold and had to pick up the pieces and apologize on her daughter's behalf. Yikes! For more stories like this, here's one about an employee who proved his Karen manager wrong.

'It’s not a favor. It’s a job': Entitled mom insists friend should babysit her three kids, enlists mommy group to guilt her friend

This artist has a friend who may become an ex-friend following a heated childcare squabble.

There are some "fun" careers that people tend to dismiss as not being "real work." Even if your job seems fun to the people watching from the outside, that doesn't mean it lacks concentration, skill, and time management. This artist is dealing with that right now! Her friend seems to be under the impression that as an artist, the OP can just goof off and play with art supplies while watching the friend's three kids

So basically, this so-called friend is asking the artist to take time out of her work day — there's no way to watch three kids while also creating a painting for a client. Kids are just too demanding, even when they're on their best behavior. The mom in this situation doesn't have much respect for the OP's job or free time, and she also doesn't seem to understand how much work childcare really is. Otherwise, she wouldn't be asking the favors she's demanding from the OP!

'I turned in my notice': Employee offered promotion, later told that it's a 'lateral promotion' that comes with a $1 raise, quits

Being recognized for a job well done is essential for continued motivation — but every one of us would probably also like to be compensated for our extra generated value.

'The client was so angry': Pedantic boss costs company $300,000 sale over $0.30 transaction fee

There is a strength in the business world to being extremely particular with how you go about things. Dotting i's, crossing t's, and balancing every column is a sure way to ensure your business smoothly operates — but there is a point where being overly pedantic will only hurt that business.

Top 25 Coworker Memes of the Week (April 26, 2023)

Although we'd like to think we're progressing as a society, being treated unfairly as an employee is very commonplace. Things like short-staffed teams of employees, being overworked, and receiving pay that would have been acceptable in 2012 are all so-called, 'normal'. The customers are rude, your boss doesn't know what they're doing, and your coworkers are either the best or worst thing that has ever happened to you. That begs the question, why care about work if work doesn't care about you? Is it any wonder why you get such terrible service at minimum-wage stores? Dealing with the Karens and Kens of the world seem punishment enough, but when you add underpaid to the mix…

The memes below are compiled in a way meant to distribute serotonin to employees who relate. Scroll down and check out the best coworker memes (whether that means your boss, your direct manager, your friend Sally from accounting, or the secretary to who you smile hello every morning) of the week. For last week's collection, you can take a look at them here.

'I'm a big fan of Gatorade': Entitled dude buys every bottle of red Gatorade from a shop and refuses to relinquish a single ounce

Taking everything and leaving nothing—that's generally a good sign that you're in the wrong. Operating at extreme ends of social behavior and acting in ways that speak to these extremes is going to rub a lot of people the wrong way—regardless of your belief or justification. As has been said a hundred times: We're all the heroes of our own stories. Everyone has a justification for their actions in their mind for why they've done or said something, even if everyone else is telling them that they're wrong.

This big fan of Gatorade was busy clearing the shelves at their local store of the just-restocked red flavor. They claim to have compulsion issues that center on a need for this specific beverage, still, when they were approached by a mother and her two children, asking if the Gatorade Fan could spare a few bottles. When they declined, the mother got upset and began to go off on the Gatorade Fan. The Gatorade Fan then took to Reddit's r/AmItheA**hole community to see whether they were in the wrong for buying up the entire stock of the beverage.

Commenters have been pretty decisive with their ruling, declaring the Gatorade fan to be an AH here for buying up the entire stock and refusing to share a single bottle. What's your take?

20 Memes for people who are way too literal

If you need a silly meme for your extra-literal friend, look no further.

Every friend group sends around memes in the group chat these days. It's a fast, fun, and easy way to tell your friends what's on your mind, plus it makes you look clever if you get it right. If you send a dumb meme, then your friends might roast you a bit.

These memes below are so extra literal! From the "bae come over" template to "like dis if u cry every time," some memes are timeless. Today, we flip them on their heads to infuse a little anti-meme energy into your day.

After you check out these funny pictures below, check out this vegan neighbor. They're insisting that all their neighbors better not grill any meat at night, while they might be on a run, and able to smell meat cooking!

'How do I say "I can't be sad and poor for another month" in a professional way?': Woman uses ChatGPT to respond to her boss about quitting

Who invented the two-weeks notice for quitting? It's understandable if you are leaving a healthy work environment and you want to help your soon-to-be former employee find a replacement so you don't leave them high and dry because you both have mutual respect for each other. But most of the time the work environment that you are quitting is toxic and you'd love nothing more than to leave them high and dry because you know they would leave you high and dry and probably already have many times before without a pinch of consequences. However, we all still at least attempt to provide that two-week notice before peaceing out of a most hated workplace. But what do you do when they ask you to wait longer before leaving? How do you tell them that this job makes you miserable and you're quitting because you were already at your last straw, so really you would have rather quit last month, but now they're asking you to stay an extra month?? Make the math math please.

That is what happened to one girl, but modern day problems call for modern day solutions. So instead of wasting another bit of her energy on this job she already gave her two-weeks notice for and is asking her to stay an extra month, she turned to AI. She posted to her TikTok that she wanted to figure out a professional way to say to her boss, "I cannot be sad and poor for another month." So she asked ChatGPT, an AI tool that can write content for you if given a prompt. ChatGPT couldn't even think of another way to say it, but it did put a more professional finesse. Scroll on to check it out!

'I'm losing my sanity': Worker expresses frustration about their "office prankster" coworker, sparking online discussion

Being embroiled in an ongoing prank war sounds like a lot of fun—until you find yourself in one. It turns out there's not much that's desirable about constantly being on edge, wondering when the next strike will happen, especially when that strike is likely to come at the most inconvenient time. This is doubly true when you didn't consent to partake in the prank war, to begin with, and it always seems to come from that one clueless coworker who thinks they're hilarious despite being merely obnoxious. It might be fun to watch on TV as Jim wraps Dwight's desk in some mildly inconvenient material for the 5th time, but when it happens in real life, it's just annoying and is likely to result in a trip to HR.

This worker shared their experience with a relentless prankster at work, describing how the experience was causing them to "lose sanity" and driving them over the edge of what they were reasonably able to handle. Their account of events sparked an online discussion on the subject and the worker returned the following day with an update.

Read on for screen grabs of the ensuing thread. Next, check out this worker who quit after their boss denied their leave request.

'I got fired from a job I don't work': Guy gets fired from a job that isn't his

There are toothless threats, and then there's using your station to intimidate someone who you have no power over in the first place. It's as if a stranger told you they get to have your shoes because it's their birthday. Just because they seem to think they're in a position of authority doesn't mean you actually have to respect that authority. It's kind of beautifully freeing, actually. And it's even more amazing the more convinced they are that you owe them something. What a world we live in.

What happens when someone who isn't your boss fires you from a job you don't have? Well, this. Even when confusion comes to play, sometimes the right people get hired and fired, like this secret shopper Karen who got fired for being too much of a Karen or this wholesome time the janitor dressed up, got confused with the manager and got his job.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/IDontWorkHereLady subreddit by u/nlangevin, who shared his story of being scolded and fired after making repeated attempts to communicate the fact that he didn't actually work at the store. Keep scrolling below for the full story!

Top 20+ Shower Thoughts By Verdict Masterminds

The best ideas usually pop up when you're busy chopping up vegetables on your cutting board that isn't aging well, when you can't focus in a meeting and you're starting blankly at your boss, imagining what they look like crying, and when you're standing in the shower, singing 'And I would walk five hundred miles…'. In other words, good ideas come randomly, with no specific pattern you can discern.

We like to call these ideas, 'shower thoughts', because as priorly stated, they do tend to show up when you're in the shower. For some reason, the chemicals and atoms in your brain communicate best at weird, disorganized times. Much like Isaac Newton, who allegedly came up with the law of universal gravitation when an apple plopped onto his head.

Below you'll find some earth-shattering shower thoughts that blew our minds. Okay fine, we're totally exaggerating. But they're pretty funny. Scroll down and check them out for yourself. 'Hopefully his GF sees this red flag': New boyfriend introduced to GFs friend group, insists they all "pay their share" at restaurant

A new boyfriend is making things really awkward for his girlfriend's group of friends. You're supposed to be on your best behavior when you meet new people, especially when it's someone close to your significant other! You want to make a good impression, unless you're this guy, "Aaron."

This person wrote to r/AmItheA**hole on a throwaway account. As the OP, u/throwrasplits, tells it, they and their friend group go way back, and meet up all the time for meals and drinks. The OP has been paying their own way at these meals for quite some time, and claims that their meal is very cheap due to the way they eat. No one seemed to have a problem with the OP paying for their own food, then evenly splitting the rest of the bill, which the OP is fine with as well. But things got awkward when one of the friend group brought along "Aaron." On his first introduction to the group, he made a pretty distinct — and negative — impression on the OP.

'Houses are too boring now': 25 People who are starting "harmless discourse" with these hot takes

If you've ever visited Twitter.com, you're probably aware that there is always discourse, and it is usually quite serious. Whether it's the news of the day, discussions around celebrities, or any number of other topics, people love to throw out their opinions and talk about them with others on the site.

Today's discussion will be a lot less serious and a lot more silly, thanks to this prompt from @photonsmight, which hundreds of people QT'd and replied to with their hottest takes

'He actively discouraged overwork': People share tips from competent bosses who actually made sure their employees prioritized life over work

You can work and work and work until your fingers bleed and you haven't seen the sun, but you can never by back time with all that money you just earned—IF you even earned that much more money… Usually overtime isn't much, and even if it is, taxes take most of it away later. So are you really working for any sort of extra compensations actually? Or are you giving your employer precious time from your life that they can never repay you? Maybe next time you choose overtime over date night with your loved one AGAIN or you miss your kid's soccer game because the boss needed you to "go above and beyond," just don't.

A Redditor recently posted on the subreddit r/antiwork a PSA stating that "20 years from now the only people who will remember you worked late are your kids" and it caused a slew of commenters adding their two cents. Though the workforce is saturated with toxic management, you can still find some healthy work environments hidden in there—and with that comes bosses who understand the importance of work-life balance. You are a human, not a work robot, you should always prioritize life over work, period. See what others had to say about it and what they picked up for healthy management and past competent bosses below.

'He responded by adding more workload': Worker quits when boss gives them more work after they complain about their workload

Having too much work to do and unrealistic expectations from your superiors about that work is a surefire way to make you hate your job—and your entire existence. This will usually happen in some sort of toxic workplace environment where middle managers have been selected and promoted on their willingness to enforce any policy they're told to rather than on any actual skills in operations, administration, or management.

These middle managers are more than willing to pass any pressure placed on them directly downwards so that it all builds up on the lowest level productive workers, saddling them with any blame for missed targets and poor performance.

When this worker attempted to talk to their boss about their already-too-high workload, their boss responded by telling them that they were about to have two more projects placed in their hands. Their boss had underestimated just how close to breaking point the worker was, and the worker resigned on the spot in response.

Woman Gets Sweet Revenge On Petty Unprofessional Coworkers Who Refused To Give Her An Office For No Good Reason

It's unfortunate that so many people are underappreciated when doing their jobs. You can honestly give it your all and nobody will notice. Worse than that, sometimes they notice and actively undermine you and secretly plan your downfall. Some people are bitter and love chaos. Reddit is full of stories from people that go through things like that every day, and the subreddit 'MaliciousCompliance' is probably one of the most popular platforms to share such stories on. One user by the name of intrepidshe took to Reddit to share her own tale.

The story dates back to when she was finishing her own bachelor's degree - she was just getting started in a specific emerging field of technology and was hired for a brand new department that hadn't yet begun to take off. The other departments were for some reason, opposed to the service that she would provide - so much so, that the leaders of the other departments conspired against her, and did everything in their power not to give her an office. It worked, and she didn't have any normal place to work. She could have loudly exposed them, but decided against it - instead she realized that she could get exactly what she wanted and make them look dumb in the process - without ever saying a word. So she did her job wherever she could find a place to do so, such as the mail room. Her plan was that people would notice and eventually confront her about it… She wasn't wrong. One day, the President came through the mail room, stopped for a second, and asked her why she wasn't working in her own office - she was clearly annoyed. Our dear smart Redditor explained sweetly that she didn't have an office, and boy did that set the President off… She asked her a few questions, and after some very unsatisfactory answers, she stomped off to deal with the problem - and boy, did she deal with the problem. It was an absolute success.

Check out the Reddit post to see exactly what went down… Ah, sweet revenge! Must have felt pretty damn good to get back at the people who belittled and doubted you. And if you're in the mood to look at some coworker memes while you're at it, feel free to click here.

'[He] told me he's planning on moving out soon': Mom oversteps, calls adult son's boss when he isn't home at expected time, causes rift

If there's one thing you don't want to happen at 21 years old… It's having your mother call your boss asking why you aren't home on time. Even if you're still living at home in your 20s, certain things need to be reassessed compared to how they were in your teen years.

This mother took matters into her own hands when her son failed to return home at the usual time after his shift had ended. She managed to procure the son's boss's number from her son's friend and proceeded to call the boss, enquiring about her son's wellbeing.

I can't imagine my mother keeping that close of tabs on my schedule at that age. Sure, it's only natural and respectful to ensure living with someone (even your parents) in their home as easy as possible; things like helping around the house, letting them know if you'll be home for shared meals, etc., are just common courtesies and make cohabitation much more pleasant. But, at no point would I expect my mother to know my exact whereabouts or even my work schedule. In certain workplaces, you would NEVER be able to live down your mother calling the boss. That would haunt you for your entire career in some trades.

So, yeah, this overbearing mother was totally out of line with her concerns and actions. What's your take?

'She wants me to take down everything': Sister insists Disney Adult sibling clears their house of memorabilia for her wedding

There's nothing wrong with feeling an attachment to something that brings you happiness in life. We all do it. We tend to latch on to certain stories or characters with who we identified or sports teams that remind us that we're a part of something bigger. Especially as we sink into the monotony of adult life, these things can give us greater meaning.

A 'Disney Adult' is someone who has latched on to a love of all things Disney in the biggest way, and it's not unusual to see one of these posts where a Disney Adult is letting their fanaticism interfere with their life and personal relationships, taking their love for Mickey's magical wonderland (and everything associated with it) to insane lengths.

Interestingly enough, this is not one of those posts. Our Disney Adult has been doing nothing but giving out of pocket and going out of her way in order to make something truly magical happen for her sister, only to have it thrown back in her face in the form of entitled behavior and unreasonable demands. There is absolutely no reason why some toilets couldn't be rented for the wedding if the memorabilia (in the house which is not a part of the event) is an issue.

Still, this Disney Adult is wondering if they are in the wrong for their refusal to remove the memorabilia for the wedding, sharing their story to Reddit's AITA subreddit to get readers' opinions. Read on for screenshots of their account. For more, check out this wedding guest who wore a wedding dress to their friend's wedding and wondered if they were wrong.

'My meeting takes precedence': Remote-working couple juggle sharing computer monitor between their two jobs

A remote-working couple is stressing each other out, writing, "This is very petty, but we need some help."

Working remotely is heaven on Earth for most employees! In-office work has it's perks, like getting to talk to your coworkers in person, and making you focus on your work, since you're in that type of environment. But if you've ever done remote work, you know the amazing feeling of working while chilling on your couch in sweatpants, comfy and unbothered.

Then again, if you live with a spouse or kids, it's a whole different story. Remote work isn't perfect when you have to share your "office space" with your husband or wife. This couple knows that all too well, because they're squabbling over a computer monitor, which they both need for their online meetings. The OP shared this story, which you can read below, and commenters unanimously claimed they were NTA.

After that, check out this teen's unbelievable story of uninhibited malicious compliance at their workplace, a smoothie store.

‘Boss demands fauxductivity’: Employee reprimanded for being efficient, boss requires more work for same pay

It's pretty remarkable how often one has to shout into the echo chamber of the Internet that if the work gets done properly, nothing else should matter. Yet this employee found himself shamed by his employer for daring to get his work done efficiently. It seems that his coworkers complete the same daily tasks over the course of the full 8-hour work day, while this guy manages to complete all his tasks correctly in half that time.

One would think that if this employee were tasked with more responsibility as a result of his efficiency, he would receive a promotion or, at the very least, a raise. But unfortunately, all is not fair in the workplace. Instead, the Redditor was expected to do triple the amount of work with no pay increase and, on top of that, their progress would be tracked throughout the work day.

'Did I stutter': Biker dude wants a coffee with no coffee, gets his wish

If you're going to be this confidently incorrect about something and then be rude when the person who knows what they're talking about tries to correct your mistake—you deserve whatever is coming to you. In this case, what's coming to you is a horrifically inconsumable sugary drink of the likes your tastebuds have never encountered before.

When working in customer service, you end up dealing with these people quite often. Over time, instead of bending over backward to correct their mistakes (getting more grief in the process), you tend to give in and let them have things their way. This, predictably, ends up with the entitled person spluttering and confused, having received exactly what they asked for—just not what they expected.

Read on to enjoy selected screenshots of this anecdote, which was shared on Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by Redditor u/revilo636. Next, check out this barista who played a controversial prank on a mean customer.

Insane Neighbor Insists Homeowners Pay Their Child's Medical Bills After Their Child Hurts Themselves in Homeowners' Driveway

These parents can't accept any responsibility for their own actions... When this couple, u/tapurplepudding and their partner, purchased and was set to move into their new house, they noticed that their neighbor's children had a habit of playing in their new driveway. They kindly introduced themselves and asked that the neighbors keep the driveway clear as they moved things in and out.

Things seemed to be going well, and the kids stayed out of the driveway as they moved their things inside.

They then noticed that the kids were digging holes in their yard. When they approached the parents about it, the parents just laughed and said that they were "digging for fossils."

When asked AGAIN not to play in the driveway or their yard, the neighbors responded that "the previous owners always let them do it."

Thankfully, u/tapurplepudding followed up on this final attempt at reason with a letter because it helped protect them legally from the trouble to come...

'[Boss] got demoted': Boss demands worker stick to scheduled hours, results in obvious outcome

What should you do when your boss demands that you stick to your rostered hours after you've been working heaps of overtime to try and keep things afloat? Do exactly what they asked, of course. It's always nice to rack up a few hours of overtime here and there to get a bit of extra coin, but having to do it week on week is a sure way to burn out. Rather than rewarding your employer for understaffing the team, sometimes it's best to let things burn a little bit to get a little more support — especially when your boss foolishly commands you to do so.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by Reddit user u/dorky_dad77, who shared their story of classic malicious compliance to the popular subreddit.

'A dog would never do this': 25+ Animals who were bad to the bone before their owners caught them on camera

It's a good thing animals are so cute, because these little dudes have been extra naughty! These people below caught their cats, dogs, and other assorted animals being especially bad.

My heart goes out to the person who caught their cat only after the kitty had shredded each roll of toilet paper in the house. All the cat knows is that the TP makes a great scratching post — who cares if it's anyone else's property?

In addition, I have a bone to pick with the pup who ate the entire pizza. That's just wrong. Dogs are such a fan of eating as much as they possibly can, even if they then regret it, due to a stomach ache. It just doesn't matter to them in the moment — it's time to chow down

AITA: 'I told my sister she is an evil human being who doesn't deserve to be a mother': Pregnant sister steals the baby name of her brother's stillborn child only a few weeks after they lost it

Trigger warning: Miscarriage

Family names are super important to some people to pass down to their children. A family name represents heritage while also honoring your loved ones, but is it worth torturing your living family for the sake of the rights to a name? One man recently just found out how far his sibling was willing to go just so that they could make a grab for the family name, throwing his family's agony back in his face.

u/Patient-Ad8524 a married man in his early 30's recently celebrated the pregnancy of his dear wife, Pam. Excited for the first grandchild in the family, they discussed using their grandma's name to honor her legacy: Victoria. A few short weeks after they announced their pregnancy to the family (as well as their excitement to use the name), Patient's sister Layla announced that she and her husband were pregnant as well! Jokingly, they laughed about how the older brother beat her to the grandma's name, but they were happy to be pregnant at the same time.

Late in their pregnancy, Pam, OP's wife suffered a late-stage miscarriage, and gave birth to a stillborn child.

Horrified and sad, the two alienated themselves from the family for several weeks after burying Victoria. However, Patient's sister was still pregnant and nearing the end of her pregnancy, so when it came time for her gender reveal, the sorrowful husband and wife were invited to attend. Little did they know, they would be completely sideswiped by grief when, during the reveal, pink balloons and a huge "Baby Victoria" banner waved in their faces.

Patient's sister blatantly stole the name of their d3ad child because apparently it was up for grabs now. Patient snapped on his sister and made a huge scene at the gender reveal after Pam ran away in tears. Frankly, is a name worth ruining the life of a sibling and SIL? Definitely not.

'I am in dress code': Boss shortsightedly bans shorts but not kilts

Rules are usually there for a reason, but sometimes that reason is that a middle manager was bored and didn't have any actual work to do to pass the time.

https://ift.tt/aCpPgGr
This worker was told off for wearing shorts to work by their new boss. They went home and consulted the employee handbook and were disappointed to find that the defined dress code backed up the boss's tirade. However, the dress code said nothing about whether or not you were allowed to wear a kilt to work... It also said nothing about what color that kilt was allowed to be.

It's safe to say that the boss's reaction almost kilt him… The guy almost blew a gasket when he saw the employee walk into work in all of his glory.

'She found her fiancé annoying': 20+ Wedding moments that made guests realize, "This marriage won't last"

These marriages will last a lunchtime, not a lifetime.

These people have seen some things at these incredibly awkward and cringy weddings. While weddings are supposed to celebrate two people who are madly in love and want to spend their lives together, some couples are just mad at each other, and can barely make it through the ceremony.

On the r/AskReddit sub, u/Olya_roo wanted to know: "What wedding moment made you think: 'They are not going to last long'?" And people had some incredible answers!

Growing up with a wedding photographer as a parent, I was often told that everyone at the venue totally knows if the marriage will last a lifetime, or a lunchtime. Some couples just can't help but double down on a bad bet… and then they head straight for divorce court. Scroll down to check out these incredible tales of wedding woes

'The total demand was something like $135k': Employer cheats guy on overtime, guy plays the long con to get it all back, plus interest

Patience is a virtue — so states the proverbial phrase — but in a modern world, that idea seldom comes into actual practice. Everything is happening so quickly, changing so suddenly, that waiting or trying to be patient often means that it's already too late. We've all been trained by the idea of "missing out" into giving in to each and every impulse; when, retrospectively, if you don't miss the thing you "missed out" on… did you really miss out at all?

Well, when it comes to delaying the payout of $50k in unpaid overtime, there is definitely a gamble involved. Usually, the interest charged on the payment will barely keep up with inflation (if at all); getting the payments back in a lump sum may result in higher taxation by local governments; plus, there's always the risk of the company going under in that time, which means you never see a dime of that money.

Luckily for u/SScheibler their gamble paid off, and they were able to hold their former employer accountable to the tune of $135k.

Keep reading for the full tale of revenge, as originally posted on Reddit's r/ProRevenge subreddit. For more, check out this delivery driver who orchestrated a similar revenge when cheated out of their tips by their employer.

‘She Needs to Pay Her Own Way’ : Wealthy in Laws Refuse to Pay For Daughter in Law in All Inclusive Family Vacation, Put Son In Awkward Position

With Christmas right around the corner, people are booking vacations left and right. If you're wealthy, you may also be paying for your family members to join you, which is pretty awesome. Nothing like a quick getaway from the stress of work to start your new year with. The thing is that, when you get married, you are essentially also 'marrying' your partner's family... and you gotta be careful with who you pick — because if your spouse isn't gonna have your back regarding different family matters that will pop up, that's definitely gonna be a problem.

When scouring the 'AITA' subreddit, you will find no scarcity of posts that prove some people married the wrong person. We feel strongly that married people should act and decide things as a unit when family vacations are in question. And if your parents are purposely excluding your spouse… you gotta step up, man. 'Fine, I'll honor our contract': Man gets even with ex-girlfriend when she demands he honor their $700,000 housing contract, costs her over $62,500

Breakups quickly get messy when a property is involved, and such was the case for this young couple who spent $700k on a house they shared. Initially, the woman paid a significant amount more than the man as she was extremely wealthy, and when they broke up she decided to buy him out. He thought that was fair, as there was no way he was gonna come up with hundreds of thousands of dollars. He originally thought he had 30% equity, but as it turned out, he actually had 33.3%. It doesn't sound like much, but we're talking about thousands of dollars here… thousands that he was entitled to.

The woman refused to acknowledge the extra 3 percent, as money didn't mean much to her; she told him to 'read the contract'. Obviously, she hadn't, otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to devise his plan for malicious compliance so well. As it turned out, he could financially ruin her, in a sense. Or at the very least, her bank account was going to suffer, a lot.

Scroll down to read the full, detailed account of events. For more stories like this, here is a man who worked for an insurance company, and wasn't able to stomach the fact he had to deny claims for meds people needed. Before he quit, he made sure to maliciously comply with his boss, who had noticed he was slacking off, and decided to approve every single claim…

'I found a camera that a landlord tried hiding': Top 20 Mildly Infuriating Moments of the Week (April 23, 2023)

Many moments in life are just annoying enough to complain about for a while, but not annoying enough to take any action over. It's times like these that people head to the r/mildlyinfuriating subreddit. The sub is full of tiny little complaints, and we've picked out the top posts of the week to share with you.

My absolute favorite is the person whose roof hath been arrow'd! What a funny sight to see — a spare arrow sticking out of the top of your house. That person probably had to go up there with a ladder and attempt to take it out. That makes it very worthy of being mildly annoying

I'm saddened for the person whose printer decided to waste ink by announcing it was done updating. That's so irritating, and there's no way to get that 10 cents worth of ink back!

Next up, these Americans travelled to Europe, and reported back the most WTF moments they had while there.

'I got him fired': Deacon makes groom's wife and sister cry on his wedding day, groom gets him dismissed

This deacon had a reputation for being difficult, but clearly, he messed with the wrong groom this time. After recognizing that the deacon had made both his sister and his new wife cry during the wedding celebration, the Redditor made sure to figure out what went wrong. Apparently, it all had to do with his bride not wearing a veil when walking down the aisle. That's right. The deacon literally attempted to stop the whole wedding from happening over a silly veil (or lack thereof).

Thankfully, the groom took a deep breath and waited until after the rest of the ceremony to properly deal with this drama. After the honeymoon, he demanded to speak with the deacon's superiors. It seems like no one was surprised that this event transpired, so clearly the deacon had done this kind of thing before. Well, I guess he won't be pulling this BS anymore…

‘I picked the HOA bylaws apart’ : Resident plants bamboo to overrun Neighbor’s bright LED security light

HOAs waste a lot of energy on ensuring all residents have permits for their plants, rose shrubs are trimmed correctly, and trampolines in backyards are painted in the right color. Some HOAs even enforce an overnight guest fee (put your welcome mats away). They love to interfere when interference is not needed but keep their nosy face knobs away when a resident actually has an issue that is worth looking into.

In this case, a Texas resident who we'll call OP was enjoying suburban life until one of his neighbors set up an LED security light that shone so bright it was comparable to light pollution in the city. At first, he tried a diplomatic approach and went knocking on his neighbor's door to complain (holding $20 in his hands, insisting he came in peace with beer). Initially, his neighbor reacted well and agreed to point the light away from OP's house.

A month went by and alas, nothing had changed, so OP went straight back to his neighbor, this time empty-handed, demanding answers. He was promptly told that minds had been changed and there were absolutely no good neighborly intentions at this point. Okay then, thought OP. Good intentions gone, so be it. OP formulated a plan but first looked up all the HOA bylaws and made sure that the city couldn't come after him with his brilliant idea, which involved a lot of bamboo seeds. For those who don't know, this plant is a total menace, and grows extremely fast, especially in Texas conditions.

Scroll down to read exactly what went down. For more stories like this, here are some hotel guests who made an OTA reservation when they were already physically at the hotel, and then instantly regretted it.

'You need to salute the sticker': Military wife demands enlisted salute her because of husband's officer sticker on her car

This military wife commanded her husband's soldiers to salute her and the stickers on her vehicle, which led to a little tom-foolery from the soldiers who maliciously complied with their orders (as grunts are wont to do.) As commenters have pointed out, what is it with the "Military Wife as an entire personality" stereotype? I suppose it's not an entirely unique phenomenon—people will build a personality around the darnedest things.

I'm not preaching from a pulpit here; I do it too. If you had known me from the ages of 16-21, you would have known me exclusively for the sport that I participated in. Hell, even now, I've just traded it in for a different sport and whatever "flavor of the month" hyper fixation I currently have.

We're all just a bunch of meat bags with electricity running through us, and we tend to get our circuits wired in particular ways. The tribalist part of us wants to identify with and as something to distinguish and differentiate ourselves from billions of other meat bag-batteries out there. Plus, there's a certain comfort to claiming a little slice of society as your "own."

I digress. Keep reading for this brilliant tale of malicious compliance. Next, check out this US Army clerk who got revenge on their toxic commander.

'Lost [my] job, but gained 40k+ followers': DoorDash fires delivery guy for calling out woman using him to scam for free food, angry TikTokers cancel the app

Sometimes people try to get away with everything and anything they can without thinking of the repercussions it might have on someone else. It makes us shake our dam heads so hard. Be a little empathetic, maybe? Did you ever think that maybe the world doesn't revolved around you? It's even more frustrating when these kinds of people repeatedly get away with pulling this kind of BS. It truly brings down humanity ten times.

Recently, a man working as a delivery guy for DoorDash called out a woman like stated above. He delivered her food and then after he left, he found that she reported the food as never arriving and he got a contract violation. These are taken very seriously and his contract with DoorDash was suspended and he was afraid he would lose his job completely. He knew he delivered that food, he handed it to her directly, so he decided to go back and confront her. She was working at a hospital, after all, so there were tons of camera that could prove he delivered the food.

So he did just that and recorded the situation to get solid proof of her admitting that she received the food. Immediately she looked guilty. He simply came to her to see if there was an issue, and she immediately got defense. She kept saying she had no idea what he was talking about and that she refuses to help him because she was "innocent" (even though you can clearly see on her face that she was guilty).

Eventually, he just walks off and after the video cuts off, he admits in a later post, that he told her he will come back the following day if the violation isn't removed. Luckily, the next morning he saw that the violation was removed. And as an added bonus, he saw that the video he posted of the situation got millions and millions of views and he had hundreds of thousands of new followers.

Unfortunately, however, it appears that she then later reported him for creating an "unsafe environment" and DoorDash completely fired him—they did not try to get his side of the story or anything. So, of course, his new and old TikTok followers were furious because they saw the real story in his posts. They keep taking DoorDash in the comment sections, sharing more of their own DoorDash horror stories, and are even calling for a boycott of the food service app.
