Viral Tweet: Guy Discovers That His Online Professor Passed Away 3 Years Ago

If this isn't evidence of a desperate education system, I don't know what is! This viral tweet, which was posted to Reddit's r/facepalm subreddit, left me with so many questions.

For starters, is the professor's family even getting paid for this? Is there a TA doing the actual grading? Are they alive?! What do you do if you have questions? What are office hours like? What if there are big updates in the field of study and the subject matter or course material needs to be changed? Please tell me these students are getting some sort of a discount or that they were at the very least made aware of this before signing up. Something tells me the answers to all of these questions skew negative. Not to be bleak, but it kind of feels like the only thing farther underground than this professor is the current state of the education system.
